West Valley Yard Service

I hired West Valley Yard Service in July of this year. The owner quoted me a rate of 60.00/month to do the shrubs and trees in the front and back. No grass care was involved. They have come out since then without question or incident, until now. When they came out in October, I was home, and thought it was odd that after a while I noticed they had left without doing the backyard. I had already sent my payment in, so I called to find out what was going on. He said that the gate was locked and so they left. It wasn't locked, and I was home anyway, so that was incorrect. He asked me what I wanted him to do, and I told him he needed to come finish the yard. He told me that it was an inconvenience for him to have to come back. He agreed and came back the following week. When he got here, he came to the door and told me that the 60.00 which he had originally quoted me, was apparently now not enough, and said that if I wanted the same work done, that it would cost more. He said he wasn't making any money by doing the work for what he had quoted me originally, He tried to say that he said he would decide what needed to be done the most, and that is all he would do for the 60.00 I am in a rental home, so I need the yard kept up every month. I am disabled and can no longer do the work myself, that is why I hired them. He just happened to have my check in his truck that I had mailed over a week prior to him coming to the house. Apparently he already had plans to ask me for more money before he even got here. I told him that I would no longer need his services and offered to pay only half of the 60.00, since they never completed the back yard. Very questionable business practices. Bait and switch? Get the quoted rate and services in writing, so that they don't change at a later date.

I have been using West Valley Yard service for over 2 years, and have been very happy with te work they do. [redacted] is very nice to work with. Affordable and reliable. I would and do recomend them to friends and family.
