Review: This transaction was done at the Oceanside Location 1106 South Coast Hwy.I bought a Groupon online for $100 off a windshield replacement. When I went in I told the guy I wanted the "premium" windsild replacement service because thats what was stated on the Groupon. 30 minutes later at check out the same man tells me that my Groupon is not good for the windshield that was put in. He then tells me I would have to have a "factory" windshield installed. He also tells me that even though the Groupon says if there is a problem, they will at least give me the value spent. He refuses and tells me to go back to Groupon. So I pay. I leave and get out of the driveway when I realize the wires to my rierview mirror and hanging down AND my mirror is shaking bad. Never had a problem before. So I go back, they fix the problem but the sales man is very rude and tells me that it was "corporate" that set it up and something about the millitary although at that point I wasn't listening. Bate and Switch!!!Desired Settlement: The ONLY thing at this point that would make me happy is to honor my Groupon. I only got the windshield replaced because it was a good deal. I couldn't really do it now. Cost prohibitive.

The way this event took place was -

the wife called in asking for a quote on

their 2002 Ford Explorer, wanting an

affordable price. We quoted her

$159.95 +tax. Not ONCE did she ever

mention a coupon of any sort. We

scheduled her time and she advised her

husband would bring the car in. She

also wanted to get her other car

tinted. We had no time slots available, but

advised her that if something came up

we would do it the same day. She was

happy and even thanked for us for out

help.

On the date of installation, the

husband, walked in, we took his keys we

pulled the car into the shop and began

our work. He took a seat in the

waiting area. When the job was

complete, we proceeded to check out, gave

him the invoice $159.95 +tax ($166.70

total) then he said, here you go and

placed the Groupon on the counter. We

advised him, we apologize sir but we

can't accept that Groupon. He got an

attitude and said "why not", we advised

that the Groupon needs to be mentioned

before hand and that's for a

premium OEM windshield. He said

"well what did I get?" We replied; "You

got a high quality after-market

windshield" ... We also said if you want an

OEM windshield then the price will be

more $200+. He got upset, said a few

words, then proceeded saying "he

been had" .... We advised him, "Sir does it

make sense that we sell you a

windshield for $60? Is that what were

expecting?" "How does that

even make sense?" --- He got upset paid for it,

rambled out a few words and left. He

then came back 15 minutes later,

kicking and screaming saying

"there's wires hanging out" blaming us. Our

Chief Installer went to check it out,

the wires were corrected. The installer

says, the only way those wires came

out were by customer pulling them out.

The customer left and sped away.

We have been in business for over 22

years we pride ourselves with

customer service and quality products

and work. We are willing to refund his

$29 he spent on Groupon, but more than that is

ridiculous.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[What bothers me most is their attitude. I told him a story about receiving a windshield in the past that pitted. I tole him I wanted a premium windshield (exact wording on the groupon). He did not stop me to say I had to have a factiry windshield delivered to them. Then in the response, why would I pull out the wires to the mirror. They had to be pulled out when the mirror was removed from the old windshield. So when he said "the only way they were pulled out was by the owner" this is simply not true. Are you suggesting I pulled out the wires just so I could come back into your shop? Truth is when I left, I vowed never to go back to your shop. And he made no mention of the mirror not being properly reinstalled.

The truth is, yes I was angry. I'm tired of being ripped off. If he had offered to reimburse me for the Groupon then and there, which is what I aked him to do, it would at least showed understanding of the situsation. But to be told by him" he had no intention of honering the coupon or the value" (as stated on the groupon) and to "take it up with groupon" is what really upset me. ]

Regards,

Review: They tinted my car windows. Then the window tent turned purpled and faded. I went and talked to the owner he told me that the guy who tented for him does not work for him anymore. So he could not honor the window tent lifetime warranty. He owns the buisness he warrenties it not a employee.Desired Settlement: I just want all my windows window tent replaced as per warranty

Review: I had 2 small cracks/chips in my windshield that I was having this business repair. First issue was that there was no body at the business during business hours during the time I had my appointment schedule. They had to send someone from their other shop that is 45 minutes away. The main issue was the quality of the repair. The person providing the repair spread the cracks from less than quarter size to over half dollar size, along with not completely repairing the initial issues and putting extra chips in my windshield. After the repair person was done, he got my coupon and left before I could fully inspect my vehicle.Desired Settlement: I want these issues completely fixed or my windshield replace.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

To address customer's first complaint, at that time, I was in the process of closing down my auto glass location in Oceanside. As of today that shop has been closed and all business has been re-routed to my San Diego Shop. I understand how frustrating this can be, which is why we provide mobile service (no extra charge) for our North county customer's.

As for the main issue, my technicians have 20+ years of experience, so we always explain to the customer how the chip repair process works. It's approximately a 10-15min process. It's an advanced process that injects a polymer blend into the damaged area and essentially patches the glass. It does not happen often, but there is always a 50/50 chance that within the process the windshield might break. The repair will not eliminate or make the chip "disappear." Managing smaller cracks and chips before they become serious barriers to the driver’s field of vision is why we provide this option/service. We do not warranty any repair, only replacements.

After the repair was done. I did have a conversation with this customer in reference to their dissatisfaction of the work. I indicated that because of this, not because we did anything incorrectly, I didn't mind replacing the windshield @ discounted rate of $120. Customer indicated they would think about and never called back.

I stand by our work and will honor the $120 quote for a replacement if that's what the customer would like, Installed w/ free mobile service.

Thank you for your time,
