I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is not completely what I was looking for but an impass has been reached and there is nothing further that can resolve this issue to my full satisfaction. I feel that I would be wasting my time as well as their time going back and forth with correspondence on a resolution that will neither satisfy their needs or my needs to have this issue resolved  with complete satisfaction. I appreciate the opportunity to be able to file a complaint with the Revdex.com  and hopefully others will be able to reference it.

The customer is correct in that he was quoted $505.04 to close out his delinquent loan and we did waive the 2% fee for doing this.  We also did not charge the late fees that were due on the delinquent loan.  Within minutes of hanging the phone up, the employee realized that she forgot to...

include the accrued interest on the loan since the customer last made a payment on July 25, 2014.  She called the customer back immediately and explained that there was $26.17 in accrued interest due which the customer then paid.  We are sorry for the misquoting the payoff amount to the customer but the credit union is entitled to interest under the terms of the note the member signed.   We would be happy to explain this further with the customer should they have any other questions or concerns. Thank You.  [redacted]LendingMenomonie-East Office[redacted]

Review: I closed an account at Westconsin Credit Union at their north branch in Menomonie, WI when the branch staff used funds in my account to pay someone else's debt. I closed the account and withdrew all funds in person, stated the reason and terminated all business with the credit union. I confirmed the account closing in writing by fax and letter so there was a clear written history to mark the date and time. After closing the account, the branch reported to collection agencies I had a revolving debt with the branch, which I had never had. I never had a loan or credit card with the credit union. The credit union also attempted to charge me fees on the account for dates after the closing the account. Additionally, when asked in writing to be sure to remove all charges from the account after I personally closed the account and withdrew the funds in person, they refused to do so. Written requests that the record be corrected and collection agencies be updated were ignored. On several occasions, written repeat requests for correction and proof of legitimate date have been made in writing to the credit union at the branch where the account was closed. They did not reply. I repeated the request in writing again, and again they did not reply. Since far more than thirty days has expired since the written request has been made of the credit union to correct the billing error and the erroneous report that I had a revolving credit account with them, Westonsin Credit Union has failed to comply with the standards of the federal consumer protections and I am filing this complaint the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I request the following:

1. Correct billing so that all charges made to the account after I closed it and withdrew all funds be removed.

2. A letter confirming that all these charges have been removed, with a letter of apology, me mailed to me.

3. Westconsin Credit Union should send a written letter to all credit reporting agencies to whom they may have been in contact, and the three major credit reporting organization, Transunion, Experian and Equifax, indicating the correction of the record and removing any negative credit entries.

4. Westconsin Credit Union do the same for any other effected party, i.e. [redacted]

Response:

The customer is correct in that they did close their account with the credit union but the account was a checking account and it had a negative balance of $123.29. This negative balance was created when the credit union honored a debit card transaction for $64.15 and a utility payment of $60.00. There has never been a fraud reported for either of these transactions so we must assume they are legitimate charges and the customer was also assessed a $30 overdraft fee. The customer had two other savings accounts with small balances in them that were transferred to into the checking account to reduce the negative balance to $108.29. The current amount owed to the credit union is $108.29 and we are reporting it as a negative deposit account balance to the credit reporting agencies. Statements were sent to the address of record at the time of closure detailing these transactions. We would be happy to explain this further with the customer should they have any other questions or concerns.

Review: I called this bank to pay off an outstanding balance on a loan as well as a checking account. I was told the total amount of the payoff for the checking account and the loan was $505.04 and a 2% fee would be waved because I was paying everything off. I also stated that after this payment was resolved I would like my accounts at this bank closed and I would like to not have any more contact with this bank as I have been extremely dissatisfied with their service and policies. I agreed with the amount of $505.04 and payed the amount of $505.04 and the call was ended. I later received a call from the same woman at the bank stating there was an error made by her and I somehow still had an outstandin ballance of $26 and some odd cents because of interest on the payoff amount. I stated that was not what I had earlier agreed to pay and that the mistake was not my fault as the lady had just admitted to me. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that it doesn't matter because she called back and admited she made the mistake and reguardless there was no way no resolve this except to pay the remaining balance. The manager would not work with me in any way to resolve this issue. I was also never informed on where in their policy it stated that there was nothing that they could do about it. I said that I would pay the amount because I was told that if I didn't pay the error amount it would again go past due and affect my credit again.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the amount of the error as well as a letter of apology and a detailed explination as to why they could not work with me.

I took a loan out from Westconsin Credit Union. I was notified that if I did not have insurance by a certain date, they would take it out for me, but did not tell me how much that would be. I was 4 weeks over due to secure insurance as I was putting 2 more boat craft under the same insurance package, which was why I was late. I found out Westconsin Credit union DID take insurance out, and charged me $1400!!!! Again I was given NO NOTICE of this cost until they charged me for 4 weeks of coverage on JUST THE ONE pontoon. And they took a first monthly payment (as I have to pay $111 monthly) out of my automatic withdrawal WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. I spoke with [redacted] who was clueless and helpless. There is better customer service at EVERY place I do business than Westconsin Credit Union. I recommend them to NO ONE.
