Western Investigations Reviews (5)

Review: early June of this year I contacted western investigations to investigate my husband. This wasn't the first time I used their services but never had a problem before. I dont remember the excact day the investigator was going out to investigate but I emailed Brenda [redacted] JUne 17th to ask how the investigation went and if I had hours left, she said I had about nine hours left and that she would confirm as soon as she got the report. In the past I was given a report of the findings a few days after the investigation took place, but not this time. A month later I still had not heard from Mrs [redacted], so I decided to email her asking her for the report, and also I told her that I had not gotten a follow up call to see when I would like to schedule the rest of the hours (this is something they did last time, so I'm expecting the same service). I also told her that I was disappointed with how they were treating me this time around and wanted a refund for my unused hours.\. I still heard nothing back from her, at this time I decide to email her boss, [redacted] Nothing again from either of them. So I decide to resend the email again to both of them July 28th and told them I would be contacting Revdex.com if I didn't get a resolution. Finally I get a reply from Mr. [redacted] and he says Mrs pa[redacted] is on leave and he email isn't working. He also said that they don't do refunds but I wont lose credit for my hours. That if all I was wanting was a report he can have someone put it together and send it to me. He also said to call him to discuss my case. I refused to call him, after over a month of trying to get a reply the last thing I want was to speak with them. I emailed him and explain that I just want a refund for my unused hours because they didnt follow their part of the contract so why should I Pay for something they didnt' do!Desired Settlement: I would like to get a refund for the $1,500 I paid for their services as they didn't follow through with what I hired them to do. I don't think I shouldn't have had to hound them down for over a month just to get them to reply to me. They were very unprofessional and didn't care about my case at all.

Review: Hired [redacted] from Western Investigations to investigate my wife whom was using drugs and taking care of my child while I was active duty military. Being ex-military with extensive reconnaissance and surveillance experience myself, I decided to pay for his services to provide more professional evidence that could be used in court and to win full custody of my child. This ended up being far from the case.I met with him in December of 2012 and explained the situation to him explaining that my wife had already served me with divorce paperwork and and specifically asked him if it was still legal that he use the GPS tracking unit on her vehicle. He replied "I'll have to check into it but I don't think that should be a problem." He said they would follow her for 3 hour time blocks during her movement and that I would be entitled to all video footage and would give me a detailed report of their surveillance at the close of the investigation. He provided background checks that only provided the case numbers for the convictions of her family members and addresses. This forced me to do my own work, going down to the court houses to get copies of their criminal records, providing a useless service under false pretenses. I have received absolutely no report, no video or other types of footage to this day even after contacting their office numerous times. Not only did I find out that it was in fact illegal that he used the tracking device on her vehicle, but largely as a result of the illegal use of the tracking device and the botched investigation, I now have a restraining order restricting my future employment in law enforcement. The only two tasks they completed was putting the tracking device on her vehicle and the basic background checks I could have received from an online website.I have only been contacted by them once when there was a cease and desist letter sent from my ex-wife's attorney. He wanted to ensure he was not in trouble since I told the truth in court about the GPS.Desired Settlement: Subtract the cost for the background checks and the ten days of gps tracking. Refund remainder of the money for failure of investigation.

Response:

Ms. [redacted] was made aware at the time we took her case that we do not do refunds and that we cannot guarantee the results of the investigation. She was specifically advised that we cannot force a witness to provide a statement and that we would do our best to contact the witnesses.

Review: RIPOFF!

I called western investigations regarding surveillance services for child custody issue.

I spoke to the owner [redacted] which told me he has plenty investigators in my area and gave me an hourly rate of $75 and $0.30 per mile, he asked me how many hours I think I will need and I said probably around 15 hours as I want to cover the entire week .He sent me an email right away requesting the details and a deposit of $1,200 total - $1,125 deposit for 15 hours of service + $75 extra deposit for miles charges and wrote he will prepare my file and email me a letter of engagement .

The total amount has been deposited to his bank account the same day.

No letter of engagement, contract or receipt was ever emailed to me. Suddenly it was very hard to get a hold of Mr. [redacted] via phone or emails and I started to worry. After I was finally able to reach him (calling from a different caller id #), he said he will start the service on 7/28 7:30am and on 7/29 5:00 pm

On 7/28 he claims to provide 2 hours services (I did not receive any report until now) and confirmed services for the next day starting 5:00 pm. The next day he did not answer any of my phone calls, texts and emails. Finally at 4:33 pm (27 min before the scheduled surveillance) I called using different caller id and he picked up. I asked if the investigator is on his way and he answered "No, I wasn't able to find anyone available for the surveillance today" (didn't even bother to inform me or give me time to find someone else). I told him that I am not happy with his service, his comment was laughing and saying he's busy.

The same day I emailed Mr. [redacted] a request for:

1. Payment Receipt

2. Report for the services on 7/28

3. Refund for the remaining hours as I will not use his services anymore.

He did not respond to my emails, when I called he said "I do not give refunds" , CURSED me and hang up the phone!

Later I found that his private investigator license expired on 6/30/14 !Desired Settlement: I will except a FULL refund of $1,200 in cash + 10% interest.

* I did not receive the report for the 2 hours services he claims to provide.

* Mr. [redacted] failed to provide scheduled services on 7/29 without providing a proper notification.

* Did not provide a receipt or a written contract.

* I will not use this "company" services and I want to receive my money back!

Response:

I explained to Ms. [redacted] that we cannot guarantee the results of the investigation as our "product" was our time. I was upfront and honest about every aspect of the investigation before we began.

Review: Western Investigation was hired march 25 of this year Western was paid up front. Two months later I became concerned as to the progress of the investigation and asked for a status report this request went silent. After several request for a status report went without answer I had to guess that no or little work had been done on my behalf. I therefore requested a refund several times these request have also gone silent. This is nothing but a con - receive payment , do no work, and hide from any refundsDesired Settlement: Refund-$1925.00 was paid for a service . no service was rendered therefore a full refund should be in order.
