Western PA Behavorial Health Resources Reviews (2)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
The statements made in the response were not correct and as I had stated, I had seen and spoken with many of the other patients in their waiting room, as well as speaking with no less than two different secretaries behind the desk; as well as looking at the sign in sheet with numerous people all signed in for the same person (I am not sure of her exact certifications , but she is a nurse of some sort) I only wish I would have known what was about to happen, because I would have taken a picture to prove my claimAll the patients I spoke with and numerous others I have spoken with since this incident report the same type of service on a regular basis, this is a highly practice for this office and a widely known issue in the area of this office I did look around and there were no other dispensers for soap and cleanliness, especially with the variety of clientele in this office, I would think would be a high priority in stopping the spread of disease. My initial visit was no more than minutes and meds were dispensed rather quickly without proper consideration I would recommend an outside authority come in and survey the office and clients on this office's practices and procedures in an undercover manner I believe that this office does a disservice to many, because of the lack of time management and the fact that they are one of few within this area that accept ACCESS and other medical assistance insurances I believe that money is their main focus not the well being of the patients in their care

Review: First I took my son there as I had heard some good things about the doctor. At his first visit we waited an hour and were not seen until I spoke up, because I did have other things to accomplish that day. This initial Appointment was not very long, but I was somewhat relieved by that point just to leave. Further appointments for my son were quite quick, and for meds only. I then made myself an appointment and waited yet again an hour; this appointment was rushed and meds given without her listening much at all. The appointment lasted less than half an hour. My second appointment with her I waited an hour told them I needed to leave, because of prior engagements and had noticed that numerous patients were all scheduled at the same time. I then watched as two patients who arrived after me were taken in before me. I left and will now go to my PCP. Also when I went to use the restroom there was no hand soap or towels.Desired Settlement: I will check to see if my insurance was charged and will dispute if they were. I want others to be aware. They claim on their website and in office that they are a Revdex.com accredited business; but I was unable to find them on here. I want them monitored more closely for reliability and responsibility considering the nature of this type of business.

Response:

This letter is in response to the complaint filed on 5/29/14 with assigned ID of [redacted]. Due to specific details of our practice being confidential, I will respond as accurately as possible.

On the given day that this patient’s appointment was scheduled, our office was seeing patients for three different therapists plus a nurse practitioner. Therefore, it is possible for four patients to have the same appointment time – depending on which provider that patient is seeing. Our office does not double book patients. With that being said, there are times that emergencies happen and the appointments are running behind. If this is the case, our office staff is apologetic and can offer another appointment if needed. Also, appointments are different times depending on the type of appointment. Therapy can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Initial evaluations can take 45 to 75 minutes. Follow-up appointments are typically 15 minute appointments.

Our office has installed a new soap dispenser that hangs on the wall. This is different compared to the soap pump that sat on the sink in the past. This new dispenser was installed in April and has only needed to be changed once so far at the end of June. Therefore at the time of the appointment, I do not believe that we were out of soap. Perhaps the patient did not look for the new dispenser on the wall. Working in a busy office, there are times when staff is unable to monitor the bathrooms and making sure there is adequate toilet paper and paper towel. However, all extra supplies are kept in an unlocked cabinet inside the bathroom if needed. Or, the patient can notify the staff and anyone of us would be happy to refill what is needed. Please understand that the patients and staff do share the same bathroom and it is never our intention to leave supplies unstocked.

If you have any further questions, please contact our office.

Sincerely,

Western PA Behavioral Health Resources
