Traveling on I-40 East on Sunday 08/02/2015, we had a tire to explode on my truck. The tow truck driver took our truck to Western Tire because this was the only business that was open on Sunday. We felt that the other tires could explode also, so we opted to purchase 4 new tires since we were going to [redacted] The owner brought out 4 dirty tires and showed those to us. The price this man charged us was outrageous. The time all of the fees, taxes and a charge of doing business on a Sunday was added the total came to $1,536.00. The worst of this ordeal is after we left the shop and drove for 1 1/2 hours one of the tires came off at 70 mph. I could not control the vehicle and it was very hard for me to get the vehicle stopped. I contacted the shop and told the owner what had happened and he said he would not charge me for road side assistance. Can you believe that, after all we could have been killed. I gave him my location and they went right by me with a state trooper sitting behind my truck with his lights on. It has been over 2 1/2 hours since I first made the call. When they finally arrived the repairman put the blame on us saying someone had cut the bolts and left very little thread for the lug nuts to go on. After I told him no one has ever done this, then he blamed it on Dodge for doing this. We have owned this truck since 2005 and never, never had a tire to come off. Who ever put these tires on DID NOT TIGHTEN THE LUG NUTS PROPERLY ON THIS TIRE. They did not want to take responsibility for their mistake. This business is price gouging customers and taking advantage of you when you have no other choice on a Sunday to get help. We are seniors and we had to spend about a total of 6 hours on the side of the road in the heat waiting for a tow truck and also for these guys to show up to help us. We were so traumatized by this whole ordeal we decided to turn around and go home.

On 07/30/2014, we had just moved to Flagstaff thinking we were going to find employment on good standards. Yet, we ended up with a slight leak in the rear driver side tire. It was raining and the front passenger tire went flat as well, I was in the process of going to pick up two other tires that I had purchased "Tires To Go!" Meanwhile, my husband was at work and I was unable to pick him up to help me with this issue. However, the office to his job at the time was walking distance so that wasn't a problem.

He got off at 5pm and showed up asap right after work. We had our belongings in the vehicle as well as a 42" Flat screen TV. So I went to [redacted] that electronic to help fix the tire issue and of course the only place that was open at the time was "Western Truck and Auto!" So we went to purchase two tires and got 1 tire for 60.00 in very bad condition. Then we told them to patch the tire that only had a nail in it so that was the slow leak tire and that disappeared. On the other hand, they ended up patching the bad tire that had a puncture on the sidewall, which we told them that wasn't safe and to discard of it. The no tread tire that costed us 60.00, not even close to 3/30 seconds was a 185/60R14 and all our other tires were 195/70R14's. They were running around and confused us of this matter. However, we went back to the vehicle to put them back on and by the time we were finished the rear driver tire still had a slow leak. We then went back to this company and tried to resolve the issue. They were in the process of fixing it and my husband noticed that they had jacked up the car where the air line for the shocks was and the shocks no longer worked. He told them that they needed to fix that since it was his workers who didn't check that we had airlines. Since this was taking so long we could not go to a parts store to purchase the airlines since they were all closed so we confirmed that he needed to fix the issue in the morning. The owner, [redacted] said to my husband, "Well, you should of told us that you had airshocks and that isn't our problem!" By this time, it had been over 5 hours of Western Truck and Auto working on fixing two tires and my husband was very, very upset! We just drove off and said that we will be back in the morning for them to fix the problem. He called them in the morning since he had to go to work so that I would be able to take care of that. He told him, "F[redacted] Y**, and we are not going to fix that!" and hung up on him.

For them not fixing the airshocks, that caused the fender to rub against the tire on the Passenger rear tire, so it damaged that tire as well.

Here is my story involving my experience with Western Truck and [redacted]. My son was on a camping trip up in [redacted], on the way back his brakes went out and he needed repair to get the 160 miles home. He went to this business because they were open on a Sunday. He had the mechanic call me with a price on fixing the truck which was to be $650.00. I agreed to this charge so my son would make it home safely. After a couple hours had gone by he called back and stated the repairs would be $$860.92! The repairs were already completed and he jacked up the price! I thought this was very unprofessional for him to do this but I had no choice but to pay. I realize that some shops charge a 50 % markup on parts even though this is not right it is a fairly common practice in the business, but he charged $189 for a master cylinder that sells everywhere ( at least in the [redacted] area where I live) for $89.00. and he charged $98.99 for rear brake shoes which should be $26.00 or so. and $38.99 for brake fluid ? are you kidding me? I realize that probably nothing can be done about these over charges I just want the word to be put out about this. In addition the total amount on the bill says $860.92 but he charged my [redacted] $880.93.What I am angry about is the fact that this business after "repairing" his truck sent him out on the road with the A.B.S. light illuminated on the instrument panel! This is a very dangerous thing for a mechanic to do! My son was concerned about this and asked the mechanic what was wrong and the mechanic told him there was probably just some air in the system and the light would go out after driving the truck for awhile! very bad advice. The brakes squeaked all the way home back to [redacted]. I took the truck to my mechanic the next day to have it checked out and he discovered that all brake shoes were installed backwards and 2 of the springs were backwards. in addition the zert for the left front caliper( which Western Truck and [redacted] installed) was broke off. The charge to repair the damage caused by Western Truck and [redacted] was $213.00. I filed a complaint through my bank and Mr. [redacted] (proprietor of Western truck and [redacted]) called me and offered to settle the dispute. I asked him to pay the $213.00 to settle he refused and sent me a measly $100.00. I don't think this is good buisness at all.
