As stated in the original complaint form; there are any excessive amount of scratches and paint markings on the French door glassThese were pointed out to the rep ( who is also a Kaerek Homes employee that presents a conflict of interest ) who came to view the damageI did not get to see the French doors until they were already installed, and paintedI did not sub contract any painting ( including trim ), cleaning or anything else inside the houseWe paid for new doorsIt is ridiculous to believe that brand new glasses doors with paint markings and scratches is acceptable

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] We were originally informed that the scratches were due to removing the protective covering with a razor blade (which was done prior to us taking occupancy)This excuse was also provided to the original response on this websiteNow we are being informed that a cleaning resulted in excessive scratchingNeither one of these excuses addresses the paint markings (which was also done prior to us taking occupancy)The end result is that this glass door (and most of the windows) were damaged prior to sometime between the manufacturer and us taking occupancyAnother aggravating factor which has not been addressed, is that the Wether-Tek rep that came out was also a Kaerek Homes employeeThe consumer should not be placed in the middleWether-Tek and/or Kaerek Homes is responsible for this damageAgain, we did not install, transport, paint, remove the covering or do anything to/with this door

Weather-Tek did supply the unfinished door in question to this project upon request from the builder.? The individual pieces of glass on this door come from the factory protected with a film of plastic for protection during finishing which Weather-Tek did not perform.? Once the finishing
(painting or staining) is completed the film is removed and general cleaning is required.? It is our understanding the homeowner self-performed or contracted the final cleaning including this door.? Upon inspection by Weather-Tek and our Distributor Rep it was determined that a razor blade must have been used to clean the glass based on the multi directional scratches, a common practice which if not done properly will result in scratched glass

I am not making a case that scratches and paint on? new glass doors? is acceptable in a new home.? The glass doors were scratched due to the process of cleaning them which is out of our control when we are just supplying materials that require finishingThe vendor rep who supplied the doors was at this residence to also look at other doors that were identified to be defective and has agreed that they be replaced

I am not making a case that scratches and paint on new glass doors is acceptable in a new home. The glass doors were scratched due to the process of cleaning them which is out of our control when we are just supplying materials that require finishing. The vendor rep who supplied the doors was at this residence to also look at other doors that were identified to be defective and has agreed that they be replaced.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]                  We were originally informed that the scratches were due to removing the protective covering with a razor blade (which was done prior to us taking occupancy). This excuse was also provided to the original response on this website. Now we are being informed that a cleaning resulted in excessive scratching. Neither one of these excuses addresses the paint markings (which was also done prior to us taking occupancy). The end result is that this glass door (and most of the windows) were damaged prior to sometime between the manufacturer and us taking occupancy. Another aggravating factor which has not been addressed, is that the Wether-Tek rep that came out was also a Kaerek Homes employee. The consumer should not be placed in the middle. Wether-Tek and/or Kaerek Homes is responsible for this damage. Again, we did not install, transport, paint, remove the covering or do anything to/with this door.
Regards,
[redacted]
