Westgate Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM Reviews (28)

Do not buy a used vehicle from Westgate Jeep. Purchased a used 2010 Silverado, paid full asking price and the saleman said "you getting a good truck". Less than a month, truck began running rough and check engine light came on. Took the truck back to Westgate, fouled plugs, which they replaced the spark plugs under the 3month/3k mile warranty. I was over the 3k miles, but only a week over the warranty, and the truck started running rough again with the check engine light. Decided to take the truck to a Chevy dealer to get it properly diagnosed, the verdict was bad pistons and rings. I had the Chevy dealer go ahead and do the repairs, more or less an engine rebuild. They were prompt and provided a loaner car.
Frustrated about the situation, decided to contact Westgate to let them know about the ordeal and to see if they would reimburse for any of the repairs. Spoke to the sales person, then service manager and finally the general manager. The GM said I should have contacted them before authorizing repairs and/or should have purchased an extended warranty. Hindsight, I wouldn't have bought the truck.
If buying a used vehicle, purchase a certified and not from Westgate.","neg-1

I purchased a 2004 Volvo XC90 in April of 2014. On the day of purchase, there were a few items the salesman said he would have fixed by the dealership and the car would be given a complete look over to find any issues that would require work done. I never heard back from the salesman. After a week, I called and was told the salesman was fired. The manager looked through his paperwork and said there was nothing written down that they would do anything to my car after it was purchased. I called the dealership 3 more times to express my anger and ask what they would do to fix the problem. They allowed me to bring in the car to fix a few of the issues and said they would look the car over. When I left, I was under the assumption that everything was done as said and there was nothing else wrong with the car ( as I was told everything looked fine). As of today, I have spent another $5,000 on the car for most issues that could have and should have been found. There is something going wrong with this car every 2-3 months. I called WestGate multiple times last year to express my concern, ask questions and see what could be done....yet I received nothing in return. There were a few times I never even got a call back. I am beyond upset with this dealership and the way they have treated me. I feel they sold me a [redacted] car, knew it all along and used the " It's a used car." excuse to unload it without care or concern for the customer. I would tell people, Think twice before buying a car from this dealership.","neg-4

Forget the customer service once you close the sale","neg-5

Purchased Certified Pre-owned Jeep on 12/19 and was promised by Sales Front Brake Issue would be corrected and provide OEM security Cargo Cover. Purchased Pre-owned certified 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee on 12/19 Stock#DXXXXXA. During Test Drive noticed front brakes pulsating and was reassured by sales rep [redacted] that this issue would be resolved and to come in the following day to address since we purchased the Jeep that evening. Followed up the next day and Service was to busy and Sales Rep was with another customer. I left a personal handwritten message with a Service Rep to have someone call me. I was reassured someone named [redacted] from Service would call me Monday 12/22(Never Happened). Put in Inquiry online to have someone address this and spoke to Sales Rep from Chrysler who stated they would send a message to Westgate Service on my behalf to be contacted. Called Sales Rep on 12/24 to relay the message to have the Service Manager call me again with no response.Decided to call Jeep Service again on 12/29 and spoke to [redacted] and explained situation. [redacted], advised me he would have [redacted] call me back to resolve this. Still have not heard from dealership. In addition to the brake issue the Jeep is also missing a security cargo cover that should have been included with the jeep like the rest of there used vehicles we test drove. This is a 240.00 part that should have come with the vehicle. I also informed the Sales Rep of this issue who advised that would have to be addressed by [redacted] I am very unhappy with the lack of professionalism, poor customer service, and sense of urgency this dealership exhibits. My Family and I have purchased several Jeeps during my life from Jeep dealerships and it now makes me rethink if I will ever buy a Jeep again from a dealership due to this situation. Also makes me rethink the Service Contract we purchased on this Jeep as well and how we would be treated if an issue occurred.Desired SettlementFirst, have [redacted] call me back since it has been over a week. Second, address brake issue that should have been fixed during the pre-owned certified inspection on 11/24 a. Third, provide a security cargo cover that should have come with this Jeep.Business Response /[redacted]/We have attempted contact and we will continue our efforts to satisfy the client's concerns. We will report the disposition of the case to the Revdex.com upon completion.

I purchased a 2010 Dodge Charger RT for my husband 11/14/2015 and after getting it home the car wouldn't start. We determined that it was the battery had a bad cell and replaced it. A few days we had the same problem and had the battery tested, the battery was fine but they replaced it anyway. We had the alternator tested; it was fine. We brought the car back to the Westgate and explained that if the car sat without being run, the battery would die. I get a call back from their used car service manager [redacted] and he says that there is nothing wrong with the car and it started right up. I explained the problem to him and he insisted that there was nothing wrong with the car, it was the battery. Explained to him that it was a brand new battery and he just kept insisting that it was the battery. My husband and I go to pick up the car and first they can't find the key. Then we wait and we wait and we wait, finally walking back to where the car is parked ourselves and it's dead. When we return to the customer service area, the guy in the service department who went to get the car lied about having to jump it. They get [redacted] after having to find him and he again insisted that it was the battery. We explained to him AGAIN that it is a brand new battery. We leave the car to be fixed.I make a lot of calls to the dealership trying to get resolution. I was transferred all over, hung up on, given an attitude by one of the receptionists and I left numerous messages that were not returned. I got the name and number of [redacted] boss and left messages, never to be called back. I finally get in touch with [redacted] who tells me it was a bad cluster and the car is fixed. Again, back to the dealership and again they can't find the key and the car is dead. I try to speak to a manager at instead I get a salesman who wants to upsell me to another car for more money. I left the car with them for almost three weeks and the problem has not been resolved - there is something draining the battery. As a side note, they also promised to replace the molding on the doors and that hasn't been done either.Product_Or_Service: 2010 Dodge ChargerDesired SettlementIn all honesty, I want them to take the car back and cancel the loan. And I don't want to trade it in through them because I don't trust their business practices. I would request the car be repaired but after all the time I already wasted, it's not likely. I don't trust them to fix the car. Business Response We have attempted to contact this customer to no avail. Our records do indicate the purchase, a quickly repaired starting issue and after that service we have heard no other response from the customer. At this point we consider the matter closed.Consumer Response They have never tried to contact me to resolve this. I have three active phone numbers so I'm not difficult to get in touch with. All they've done is lie and try to up sell me into another vehicle. All the calls I made to them have never been returned and they have been nothing but uncooperative. I would never buy a car from them - new or used - again. And I would never recommend them to anyone. Final Business Response [redacted] did have a conversation with this customer. Short of returning a vehicle that was bought from us and repaired by us the customer still claims dissatisfaction. At this point we can only agree that we disagree regarding the customer's request. We are sorry we could not reach a point of satisfaction for this customer. However, we did our due diligence in this matter.

Westgate Service dept says I must pay the $60.40 to have my car released back to me, After I paid $800 for them to fix a problem that still exist.Around 1/20/2015 I spent about $800 to have a coolant leak on my car fixed at Westgate Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram. Within a weeks time I was back at the shop for the same issue. They did however give me a loaner vehicle to driver until they completed the job. However maybe about a week later my car overheats as a result of the same issue I drop my off on a Friday evening of course they were closed. Had no loaner so I rented a car for a total of $67. But here it is Wednesday morning I still done have my car back or any loaner because they claim they have no loaners. I stopped by there Tuesday afternoon to get the same excuse/story I received earlier that day on the phone. I believe all it may take is a simple call from you to get them to move and resolve my car issues. I gone from hitching rides to having to rent vehicles, I just believe they were procrastinating. 2/4/15 I received an update on my car they say it's a none related issue, which is incorrect because my car still has the coolant leak which I paid them $800 to fix. They are trying to charge me the diagnostic fee all over again. How is that justified when I still have the coolant leaking. It's not fairDesired SettlementI strongly believe that I should not have to pay the $60.40 to get my car.Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/I have heard from the company, the complaint has been a partially resolved. I will receive my car back for no additional charges; however I still am not pleased being that I have a car now experiencing the same issue I paid to have fixed from the beginning.

Same thing happened to us as the person who purchased the 2004 Volvo XC90. We purchased a 2007 Ford Explorer in July 2016. On the day of purchase, there were a few items the salesman said he would have fixed by the dealership. We signed a "We Owe" you document that said Westgate would "Repair the engine knocking noise". After several e-mails and 2.5 weeks, we called the dealer back and was told the salesman no longer worked there. The manager we talked to looked through the paperwork and said there was nothing written down or no "We Owe" document. We drove the car down there and "oh ya, now I remember". We were given a loaner car and 3 days later where told "its the fuel injector. its a normal sound for that type of car/that age of car". They said there was nothing wrong with the car and therefore nothing to fix. I referenced the "We Owe" document and again, they there was nothing they could do. In fact, they told us that they could sell the car to hundreds of people with all of the problems the car has. I said "but there is nothing wrong with the car and nothing to fix. what is it? Nothing wrong or there are problems". There is something going wrong with this car and WestGate is not honoring their agreement. On 8/22/2016 we are taking it to a Ford dealership for review by a certified mechanic. Think twice before buying a car from this dealership.","neg-2

I'm normally a tolerance and patient person, but after three negative experiences at the service department of Westgate Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM I'm compelled to write a review to prevent other potential customers from making the same mistake that I did. I have had multiple satisfactory experiences, but the frequency and magnitude of Westgate trying to syphon money is unacceptable for a business that wants customers to trust them.
The first incident was a result of me foolishly buying an extended oil change package from the dealership. I paid extra for the synthetic oil and as is reasonable, I expected them to use synthetic oil when I brought it in for a change. Much to my surprise, the itemized receipt of the warranty oil change listed out the bulk conventional oil they they use. While the dealership did replace the oil with what they should have put in my car in the first place, it was an unnecessary hassle and inconvenience.
The second incidence of Westage CDJR trying to squeeze money from unsuspecting and trusting customers was having a service advisor strongly recommend hundreds of dollars of maintenance activities that, per Dodge in the car's maintenance guide, either did not need to be performed for tens of thousands of additional miles, or should not be performed at all. Some of the recommended service, in addition to being unnecessary, can damage your vehicle if performed incorrectly.
The final experience that will keep me from ever returning to Westgate CDJR is my current situation involving a damaged tire and an included Road Hazard warranty that apparently was never issued. Despite the original receipt indicating that the 4 tires purchased at the dealership include road hazard coverage, not only was that never issued when I purchased the tires (less than 2 years ago), but it has been over a week and this still isn't resolved and I'm still getting a run around. Everyone I've spoken to has given me a different story and pointed to different departments (or companies entirely). I have spoken with two advisors (several days apart), who both committed to resolving this with their manager and calling back first thing the next morning, and have not heard back from either of them. I can't imagine how much money they have essentially stolen from customers who paid for road hazard and never realized they never received it. It sickens me. I'm done with this dishonest company.","neg-3
