I have been searching for a Toyota Solara convertible via the cars.com app for weeks. I finally found a really nice one at Westgate Imports. I submitted an online credit application for vehicle financing 04/13/2016. The following day I contacted [redacted] the Finance Manager (FM) at the dealership for a status update. He reviewed my app verified some information then submitted my credit app to the bank. Shortly after I received a call from lender to verify additional information on my employment and financial institution.
On 4/15/2018 [redacted] the FM called me to congratulate me on my approval for financing on the Solara. We discussed the terms of the loan including the documentation that was needed to complete the deal closure. We scheduled Monday 4/18/2016 to sign the deal agreement.
I arrived on 4/18/2016 @ 5p.m requesting to speak with [redacted] I introduced myself.....only for him to tell me he had just sold the Solara to another family 20 minutes prior. Words cannot describe the anger, the disappointment and the frustration I felt at that moment. This is not the first car I have found online and chose to make a vehicle purchase. I came in today with the hopes to take home my new pre-owned car. Not to mention I already had an insurance policy written. Then he unbelievably chimes that they cannot hold cars for people, thus making me feel like I was the person to blame for his mistake. First if he would have told me this policy Friday afternoon (although we were destined for VA Beach and he was informed) I would have made other arrangements to close deal. And furthermore, a phone call would had sufficed on Monday when a potential buyer was wanting to purchase the vehicle, he should of touched base with me confirm my arrival that after noon. I will make sure I tell everyone I know of the way I was treated at Westgate Imports. Worst car buying experience ever and I made it super easy. Chose, apply, sign, drive.

I visited Westgate Imports on the evening of 2/3/15 around 6pm. Upon entering I was not greeted and there was no one at the front desk. I waited for over 5 minutes even though there was a gentleman in one of the offices on his cell phone who saw me standing there and continued talking anyway. I was finally greeted by another gentleman who happened to walk by who then gave me the keys to the Mazda3 I came in to see so I could look inside. I went out and looked at the car. I then came back and asked for an appraisal of my trade-in. I waited in the lobby chair while the car was assessed and then two staff members discussed my trade huddled at the receptionist desk where I could hear. Finally, a staff member came over and asked me what I hoped to get price-wise for the car and after I went through a long speech talking about how well-maintained the car was, gave a price. She immediately responded back with what they would offer. It was a complete waste of my time to be asked what I wanted to get for the car, when they already knew what they were going to offer me.The offer was $200 less than what CarMax already had given me a written appraisal for, so she offered to match the CarMax price. I asked if it would be possible to get $300 more to get closer to what the blue book trade-in value range was for the condition and mileage of my vehicle and she said it was not possible. I asked again, to be sure before I left and was told no. The lady then comes out to my car as I am backing up to leave and says that she could in fact give me the additional $300 dollars. Less than 60 seconds had passed from when I had gotten the firm no. By that time, I was so disappointed and frustrated by the entire unprofessional experience that I declined. I wasn't even haggling with the price of the Mazda, I just needed $300 more dollars for my trade! The sad fact is that I had shown up ready to buy the Mazda that very night. My financing was secured and I had the title of the trade-in with me, but I decided to just forget it. It seemed like I was dealing with the "B-team" of the sales department and at no time was I really made to feel welcome at Westgate.

Given wrong information & Did not follow through with promises made.Purchase of a 2007 Jeep Wrangler X, on 11/11/13.I purchased the Jeep with one key. I specifically asked The Salesperson about the getting a duplicate key, & was told a duplicate key would be inexpensive, "that it was just a normal key".I went & had 2 duplicate keys made for $5.00. The new duplicate keys will not work with the ignition start in the Jeep. My first complaint is, The Jeep ignition key is not normal & requires a very expensive key with a chip inside, & requires mechanics labor to sync all keys at the same time. The minimum quote I've received is $140.00 to duplicate one key for this Jeep. Also, I was promised a full tank of gas in the purchased Jeep. It was not filled with gas at all. Also, promised the Jeep would be cleaned in detail. The interior was not cleaned, the exterior was wiped down. Very disappointing with the cleaning detail.Desired SettlementAs I am in High Point, Cannot bring the Jeep back to the dealer in Raleigh. I am requesting a refund for duplicate key, $140.00.$50.00 for gas tank fill up.$45.00 for detail cleaning service.Total - $235.00Business Response /[redacted]/I have issued a check for the amount the customer has requested. The check is being mailed directly to the customer. Please confirm Mr. [redacted] is happy with this outcome.

On 1/30/2015 around 10: a.m, my wife went to pick up her vehicle from Westgate Car Care Center, located at 6312 Westgate Rd in Raleigh, N.C. Upon getting her vehicle back, she discovered that her radio system was missing. No windows were broken and no doors were tampered with. Her vehicle was parked inside a fenced in area away from the security cameras. The vehicle was on the property for approximately two weeks, as we were waiting to have an altenator replaced. The security cameras that are on the side of the building where they park the customer's cars, are not monitoring the veviclesbecause they're pointed towards the ground. When my wife confronted the front desk clerk about her radio missing, the clerk told my wife that they were not responsible, even though it happenedon their property, while still in their care. The clerk told my wife that she would have to file a claim with our insurance company. Also, after spending over $300.00 to have the altenator replaced, it is not holding a charge and needs to be replaced. Now, my wife is without transportation again.Desired Settlement$200.00 for the replacement of the radio and for them to pay for towing expenses because we're going to have to have the vehicle towed back to their facility so that they can replace the bad altenator that they installed in my wife's SUV. Their technician should have tested the part before installing it. There is much negligence on their part and we want Westgate Car Care Center to take responsibility for their horrible customer service and incompetence.Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/I'm [redacted] and a couple of days ago, I filed a complaint against Westgate Car Care at 6312 Westgate Rd. Raleigh, N.C. XXXXX. I would like to inform you that the company has resolved the issue
