Westin Gaslamp Quarter Hotel

In all my years traveling around the nation and the globe and staying in various 4 and 5 stars hotels, I had never seen a hotel try every possible way to gauge their guests to milk them for veery dollar they can --- until of course I made a reservation at Westin Hotel in San Diego at 400 Broadway. Just as you pull to the main entrance in your car you will realize the parking attendant ask you to pay if you want to park your car. You tell them that you are a guest and you are told "oh well, you still have to pay if you want to park your car. They charge $24 a day, but if you decide to take your car out if the parking to grab a bite, then you have to pay $24 again, as many times as you take your car out, you keep being charged. Wow, talk about rip off! Then you go into the room and you have to pay for Wifi. My God, even if you go to a bar they offer free wifi to patrons free Wifi, but not in Westin. The impression I got was that they will do everything to milk the guests for every dollar they can. I would not be at all surprised if they start charging for riding the elevator up to your room in the not-too-distant in the future. Rooms are tiny, you are treated as a cash cow and you find yourself constantly pulling out money or credit card just as you walk into the hotel and make your way to your room. That was my impression at the Westin Hotel. I would not mind paying if they had just asked at the time of reservation if we had a car and then given the options, but they know you will never make that reservation if you are told up front, they bring you in and then break the news to you one by one. Never again will I stay at Westin Hotel due to their cheap way of treating their guests and their dishonesty in how they run their business.
