Westmoreland Dry Cleaners

Review: On 07/18/2014 [redacted] drop off a custom made coverlet at the Westmoreland Dry Cleaners - the coverlet was a two tone - beige and silk blue. At the time of the drop off she asked if they could clean it and she proceeded to explain that it was custom made and very expensive. The lady said they could clean it. When she went to pick up the coverlet on 07/24/2014 she noticed blue discoloration on the beige part - the person said they would redo. At no point did they show concern or say that they were unable to clean this kind of material. [redacted] called on 07/29/14 to check if the coverlet was ready to be picked up - she was put on hold and the manager got on the phone and said that it was ruined. The coverlet was worse and the blue bled thru the beige and it was damaged.I talked to the owner on Wednesday July 30th. He said they are not responsible for the reaction of fabrics in the cleaning process and that [redacted] had signed a release to be done. I explained to him that it was very irresponsible for them to take something that they did not know how to clean. I proceeded to say that they should have said something since the coverlet was custom made and had no tag, in addition, as professionals, they should know fabrics and should never take something if they are unfamiliar with the fabrics. He agreed to that comment.I asked him to think about what he is going to do about this because the item was damaged in their possession and that I would appreciate if he calls me by Friday Aug. 1st. He did not call on Friday so I called back on Monday left a message, he did not return the call. I called again on Wed. Aug 6th and was able to speak with him ([redacted]). He said all he can do is give us a $100 credit. I explained to him that this was a $2,580 (for which I can provide receipts and a letter from the designer) and that $100 was not enough considering it was an irresponsible action on their part, they were informed that this was custom made and very expensive when we dropped it off.Desired Settlement: In my opinion, they acted irresponsible and should pay for at least half if not full cost of the item. They took an item after being informed that it was custom made and very expensive. It did not have tag, yet they said they could clean it. If their job is to do dry cleaning, they should know their work and be able to acknowledge and notice when they can't do a job. They should never take items if they are not 100% confident that they can take care of.
