I've done everything humanly possible to please this customer, but it's simply not possibleI have no idea what this complaint is for or about and particularly months after they have been living in the homeThis comes without any contact or correspondence at all. Our last communication
was in fact on Dec28th, where she asked that we check her heating system because it wasn't coming up to the proper temperature as it had been doingI promptly sent our technician out the very next day and we replaced the thermostatProblem fixedI don't know what better service I could have provided. We completed the home last May and did a very thorough walk through and when I say thorough, I mean it in every sense of the wordThey were satisfied with everything and we closedCertainly if there were any issues they would not have closed on the house and I would not leave anything incomplete myselfThere were truly no issues or problems with the homeThe home was constructed according to all standards and inspected thoroughly by all inspection agenciesThis county is very detailed in their inspections and there's nothing that they miss. To address her issue with DPOROnce again, she filed with them completely out of the blue without even discussing anything with meI had just spoken to her days prior to that and she was very happy and excited that we were almost done and had no problems or complaints at that timeI was blind sided and stunned by her action which I relayed to her in an emailThis was resolved and they found absolutely no problems or defects in materials or workmanshipThe photo's she refers to were taken during construction and she's well aware that these items were corrected as construction progressed, which is always the caseWe see wood split and crack along the way, it's what wood does, and it's replaced as necessary. With respect to delaying her completionThere was no time that we delayed her job for any reasonIt makes no sense to delay a jobAny delays we had were construction and that was addressed from the beginning with them in writing that they signed. In closing, we have been building for nearly years and have had a stellar reputationI feel that we go way above and beyond to make sure our customers are pleased with every aspect of our homesWe have received dozens of cards, letters and emails through the years from grateful and thankful customersThey speak of the quality of the home, the ease of working with us and of the fair pricing that we chargeOur business is all about our customersIt's hurtful to hear of anyone dissatisfied, but I assure you that we've done everything possible to resolve any issues with this customerI don't know why she is asking for money or where this amount comes fromI don't even know what it's for

Good afternoon Ms***I received your letter in regards to Mrand Mrs***We have been in business for years and have never had a single complaint because we truly do try to take care of everyone we do business withMany times we do things that are way out of our area of responsibility
just to make sure we've satisfied our customers requestsThe road was turned over to the customers Sept30, at settlement on their home and they signed a road maintenance agreement at that time that stated they are responsible for it from that pointThe road was in excellent shape at the time and the ditches were cut and functioning properlyIt met or exceeded all of the requirementsI explained to them that I would be building another home on the acres that adjoined their property and told them I would make sure to repair any damage our trucks did during that timeWe completed the second home in May of I immediately sent the excavation crew in and told them to clean any debris from the ditches and make sure everything was left in perfect shapeWe placed tandem loads of stone on the road and graded it from one end to the otherWe cleaned the ditches and placed jute matting in them, we reseeded the area's that we disturbed and blew straw on top of itThe road had not been damaged during construction and the ditches were still in good shape, but I wanted to make sure it was left in perfect condition before we pulled out for good. When I received an email from them in early October asking me to fix the road, I didn't know how to react.(months after we were finished) I went out to the property within an hour of receiving the email to see what they could be talking about and I couldn't find anything wrongI still think it is in fine shape as you can see in the attached pictures.(sending them in separate email) I have also attached a letter from the other neighbor that shares the road with themThey are the other property owners responsible for the road maintenance per the signed agreementIt states they are perfectly satisfied with everything we have done for them and they "have no complaints or problems with the access road"It goes on to state how we have exceeded their expectations in every regard and that if they need another home built that we would be the only company they would ever use! In addition, I have attached a letter from the individual that did the excavation work on the road each timeHe states that all of the work was in fact done as I have described above and the road was left in excellent condition. I have included the letters and pictures to reinforce the fact that we try our best to make everyone happy and to do the right things for our customers and I hope you can understand the efforts that we went to to ensure there would be no questions of our honesty and integrity. In an effort to resolve this and make the customers happy, which is always our goal, I scheduled a meeting with them to better understand what their concerns areI met them yesterday morning on the roadway to discuss itThey showed me a section of ditch on the right side about 30-feet in length which was the place of concern for them. Mrs*** was worried that if she happened to run off of the road and into the ditch in that particular section that she would get stuckShe said the ditch is too deep along that sectionThe ditch is about 15-inches deep at that pointWe have agreed between us that I will send the excavation crew over within weeks to install some dirt in the ditch and make it a bit shallower so she will not be worried in case she runs off of the road in the future.Respectfully, Dave

Good Afternoon,Our complaint has been closed with Weston Homes giving a response that further work would be done to satisfy our complaint Work was to be completed the week of December 12th As of this date, December 27, there has not been anything done Weston Homes had removed a culvert along our road and didn't fill in or do anything to prevent erosion which resulted in erosion of our road MrW*** stated that he would have his man come and repair this area I would like this information included with the previous information because according to MrW*** response, "the road was left in excellent condition." and that they wanted to make sure it was in "perfect condition" before they pulled out It was not We appreciate that MrW*** is now willing to repair the area but words don't fix things Thank you,

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
My husband and I complained about the house Dave Weston was building many times and we were never satisfied with his resolutions to problems.  Most of the time his standard response to us was, "Don't worry about it."   He promised us upgrades of material/items we requested such as upgraded cabinets with solid wood doors and shelves, and plywood boxes; however, he provided cheap cabinets made of MDF (particle board).  Additionally we requested vinyl siding with one inch styrofoam backing.  What he used is vinyl siding with 1/2 inch backing.Another example of an upgrade was the bamboo flooring which was poorly installed and it has buckled and pulled the baseboard away from the walls in several sections.  Dave Weston promised these things and we paid for upgrades that weren't the quality/material we asked for, but he charged us premium prices for the upgrades as well as the house.  He provided us no detailed contract of what the house cost or the upgrades, but he charged us extra for everything.Dave Weston provided little to no oversight in building our house.  The electrician who installed the light fixtures threw the screws and washers for the fixtures in the dumpster and used drywall screws to install the lights!  The painting of the house both interior and exterior is awful!  The whole house looks cheap, but we paid a premium price for it.My husband and I filed a complaint with DPOR (Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations) against Weston Homes, Inc. last fall.  He was found in violation of several regulations.  I will scan and attach the documents I received from DPOR tomorrow.
