Wheatly, Wheatly, Weeks, Lupton & Massie, PA Reviews (2)

Terrible customer service and dishonest representation of the service that could be provided. I came to [redacted] with a situation that I needed an absolute divorce filed and completed within a tight window given that I am moving in the near future. I was told that it would be possible as long as my ex did not file for a 30 day extension. I had to file April 15th, the first available day, and I was told I could return the morning of 4/15, and the complaint would be filed that day. Low and behold, I came April 15th with check in hand for $750, but the paralegal stated the lawyer was at a workship until 4/20, and it could not get filed until then. I then asked about serving my spouse in time for the calendar date we wanted which would be June 9th. The paralegal states she could calendar something within a week of the end of the thirty day period after my ex was served, so long as she didn't file an extension. Of course, my ex ducked the sheriff for a few days and was finally served 4/30. However, the paralegal now says that there has to be an additional 13 days of notice period for the hearing, and they cannot calendar the hearing until the first 30 days is up, putting us past 6/9 and past my move date. I said this is the first I am hearing of the 13 day issue, and the paralegal states that she did tell me this previously. I think it completely arrogant that she would think I would forget something like that, and could blow me off stating that she did tell me. She did not tell me about the 13 days, or I would have been far more concerned about my ex ducking the sheriff, and I would have filed the paperwork myself on 4/15 when they stated they could not do it. I called the courthouse directly, and they state that they can calender something during the 30 day waiting period and the notice of hearing only needs to be 10 days. I can calender for 6/2 in fact, but I will need to fire my lawyer to do this, which is exactly what I plan to do. What a waste of $750. Throughout this time, none of my voicemails have been returned, and I am only contacted when the paralegal has an issue of her own. Maybe they have something against men, but if you are a man trying to get divorced GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
