Review: 3/21/3013

On Nov,2013 we hired a private adjuster by the name of [redacted] of Wheeler Adjustment to handle the damage to our home by sandy in [redacted] county.

On Nov [redacted] sent a young man to meet us at our damaged home on his behalf to evaluate the property damage with NFI , when the agent from NFI arrived the young man left he never walked through the house with the agent , took pictures or wrote a report he simply left. We were concerned and baffled and called [redacted] immediately. His response was he would do his report at another time not to worry. I had called several times with questions regarding when the house would be looked at with no direct answers from Wheeler.

Several weeks later [redacted] called to discuss our property damage over the phone one of his questions was about carpet my response was we did not have carpet and asked him if he had ever been in our home to assess the damage?

[redacted] became very irate and confrontational with me and hung up the phone . We knew he had never been in our home because we have a door code for entrance and he never called for access. From that point on there was no contact with wheeler by phone or email.

All information was gathered from NFI directly, even the damage pictures were supplied by us the home owner.

On 3/1/13 we emailed the wheeler agency requesting our loss report the office responded by saying they had trouble accessing past reports and were having a tech look into it.

I requested the loss report again by email on 3/7/13 no response from wheelers office.

[redacted] office has called our home on 3/19 and 3/20 seeking payment.

We responded by email stating we are waiting for our Loss report as stated in our contract.

[redacted] did not perform his duties of a private adjuster by mediating between us and the insurance company he never had interior access to our home. We feel [redacted] simply turned us over to insurance company and just attached his name to a claim. We have withheld payment due to no service on his part.

update:

As of 3/21/13 [redacted] sent a loss report dated 3/20/13 at 10:30 at night our case settled in Jan 2013, why was the loss report he sent not dated 11/2012 when he was hired .

[redacted]Desired Settlement: We do not wish to pay him beacuse he never entered our property and he did not mediate for us , he turned us over to the issurance company to handle everything our selves and finally gave us a a report 3/20 @ 10:30 in the eve .. we hired him in 2012 Nov the claim was settled without him in Jan and now he wants money for services not rendered.

November 9th 2012: Complainant signed Contract with Wheeler Adjustment Service, Inc. authorizing representation.

November 9th 2012: Wheeler Adjustment Service, Inc. met with Insurance Company Adjuster at Complainant's property.

January 17th 2013: Emailed Estimate and Settlement Documents to Complainant for signature.

January 18th 2013 Emailed signed Settlement Documents to Insurance Company Adjuster for processing of Settlement.

February 19th 2013 Mailed Fee Letter to Complainant.

Complainant mailed a check ( No: 323 ) to our office in the amount of $ ( 3,427.57 ) dated February 22, 2013 which represented our agreed fee of 10% of their Settlement proceeds.

Complainant then emailed our office on March 2, 2013 and stated " I'm writing to inform you that there has been fraudlent activity on our account we had to stop payment on several checks...check number 323 has been stopped in the amount of $ ( 3,427.57 ). There will be a new check issued to you on 3/11/2013". We never received a new check as stated and incurred bank fees after depositing the check No: 323.

The Complainant is trying to get out of paying a fee that is owed to Wheeler Adjustment Service, Inc. If we do not receive our fee for services rendered we will pursue this matter legally.
