My experience with this business is appalling. Spring of 2015 I contacted this business to inquire about cutting a few inches from the top of my motorcycle windshield. The man who answered the phone was rude, dismissive and short tempered. He told me they just didn't have time to do the work, they were too busy, if I had to get it done it would take no less than 6wks to 2 mo at best.
On March 14th 2016 (two months earlier in the year) I called to ask again if they would be able to trim my windshield. I brought my windshield down to the store and the man was visibly and verbally upset and annoyed that I did not have the exact cut line marked. He stomped around the office looking for tape, throwing things around his desk and in the workshop. He indicated that I needed to mark the windshield with pin striping tape, of which I did not have. He stated this repeatedly until he chose to call "a buddy" and he asked if he could have about 18in of tape for a job. He told me to come back the next day and we'd mark it. I was traveling out of town for work the next day so I told him I'd be back later that week. While he was stomping around he also told me of a time "about 20 years ago" that he did this for a guy and it was a nightmare and he ended up buying this customer a new windshield "and it wasn't cheap".
He told me he was getting the tape on Monday afternoon 3/14. On Friday afternoon 3/18, I stopped back in to the shop to mark the windshield. He told me he did not have the tape and to stop back next week. He was just too busy and didn't get the tape from his friend.
Following week Tue 3/29 I stopped back into the shop and we marked the windshield. The first tape application was visibly crooked which I mentioned. He sighed heavily, ripped the tape off aggressively and tried again. I had to ask him to measure the distance from the tape to the windshield supports on each side, to which he did with aggravation. During this time, the business phone rang. He stopped to answer it, after a few seconds with a very curt and rude dismissive tone he said something like "I can't help you right now I'm really busy I'll call you back". Although I appreciated that he wanted to finish taping the windshield, this reinforced my observations that he struggles with communication. After about 20 minutes we had the tape on the windshield, he said he'd have it worked on the next day.
Friday 4/1 I called and asked if the windshield was finished. He very defensively said no, they didn't have time and the person that was going to work on it was booked all week. I asked when it was going to be finished. He said he'd let me know. I asked if it was going to be worked on next week, he said maybe. At that time I asked him yes or no, pointed out he told me previously it was going to be done this week and now his person was booked. He said he didn't recall telling me that. So I asked, is this person booked all next week or not. He would not answer the question, he repeated maybe it would be done. He then told me that if I wanted to pick up the windshield I was more than welcome. They do a lot of these cut downs for the Harley dealership in town and have had no problems. I repeated, that all I was asking for was a target complete date, that it's already been there for over two weeks, when is it going to be done. He repeated in a very abrasive and condescending tone that he did not know that they would try to get it done next week. He also stated that it sat there for two weeks when they weren't busy (this is when HE didn't have the tape).
Due to his complete inability to give me a straight answer, his horrible demeanor and attitude I chose to pick my windshield up. Clearly my business was of no value to him.
When I got to the shop he and another man were sitting in the shop area not working on anything. I asked his name and he refused to give it to me [redacted]. I told him he was rude last year when I called, he's been exceptionally rude this year and I would take my business elsewhere. He stood up and walked towards me, laughed and waved me off.
I am disgusted by the way my business was ignored/brushed off as well as how I was treated. I will not go back and I will share this experience with anyone and everyone I know that needs any type of work like that done. Absolutely appalling.
