Review: Took watch in to have battery replaced on 8/28/13. Had to leave watch overnight, when I picked it up on 8/29/13, the minute hand is loose and spins around. The other hands (minute, hour) seem to be working. The stem to set the watch is also very loose.

I pointed this out to the person who took my money for the repair and she said they didn't cause the problem. However the watch was in perfect condition when I left it, except for the battery. When I asked for the manager, she said she was the manager. She said she could send it away for repair, but it would be at my expense. This is a ladies Wenger Swiss Military watch that my husband bought me for our anniversary. It cost over $100. I have had the battery replaced in the past with no problems.

My husband's name, [redacted], is on the receipt and on their records for this repair.Desired Settlement: If watch cannot be repaired, I would like it replaced. I am also unhappy with the lack of concern by the employee/manager. Obviously the watch was broken when the battery was replaced. The minute hand was not swinging around when I took it in. Too bad I had paid the $15.90 before I put the watch on and noticed the time was wrong and tried to set it. This is when I noticed it was broken.

I am rejecting this response because:

My watch was not broken when I took it in. I understand from others that the hand can come loose while putting in a battery and just needs to be reattached. Currently it just spins around depending on how the watch is held. It just needs to be reset. I know it was not like that when I took it in, I don't think I should have to pay $15 to have it repaired. The person who put in the battery should have noticed it when they tried to reset the watch.

I am very disappointed that the jeweler would refuse to take responsibility.
