White Plains Lincoln Mercury Inc. Reviews (3)

Review: Back in June, 2015 I purchased a car from this dealership, a 2013 Hyundai Elantra with 38,000 miles. I found out the vehicle was in an accident prior to my purchase and it was never disclosed to me at time of purchase. After I found out about the accident I then returned the vehicle to the dealership which purchased said vehicle. The dealership paid the loan in full and in exchange I was offered another car on 7/**/2015. I left with a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta.

The newest vehicle (VW Jetta) has also been in a car accident as well. Also not disclosed to me at time of purchase. After going through the car history shown on the carfax I found there to be transmission worked done to the vehicle in the past. I called the VW dealership where the repairs had been done and they sent me to another VW dealership. I decided to bring it to a Volkswagen dealership. They (VW) then told me that there had been a major repair on the transmission and the vehicle looked like it was in a previous car accident. The front windshield does not have the logo from Volkswagen/Audi. VW also found a dent in the transmission. I called White Plains Lincoln and spoke with the service manager about the findings that VW had told me about. They (White Plains Lincoln) refuse to approve the repairs thru the extended warranty I purchased thru them at time of purchase of vehicle. The repairs total $953.

Two times White Plains Lincoln never disclosed such repairs being done to either vehicle . They have sold me yet again a vehicle that is a lemon and was in accident. I am seeking to have the vehicle fixed in full what should have been taken care of before the car was put on the lot to be sold.Desired Settlement: I would like White plains Lincoln to cancel the extended warranty I purchased for $2,000, to pay for any necessary repairs needed for the vehicle to be done at the Volkswagen service station and I would like for them to pay 30% of the remaining loan fees.

Response:

The business has responded. Please see below:To whom it may concern [redacted] did purchase a 2013 Hyundai Elantra from us that we discover was in a car accident prior to his purchase. He brought that to our attention. To resolve the issue we agreed to get him a different car one with a clean carfax. That vehicle was presented to [redacted] with the Carfax. Being a mechanic himself he check the vehicle thoroughly. He was satisfied with the vehicle. We did not hear any complaint from [redacted] till November 2015 where he stated that the car was in an accident. I advised him that we both read the carfax and the vehicle was not in an accident. He then told us that his vehicle would not be cover under warranty. I told him I need to research the situation, and after reviewing the vehicle history report, we have determine that the accident he is trying to hold us responsible for happened under his ownership and reported to carfax on 11/**/2015. He took delivery of his vehicle on 07/** /2015. We at White Plains Lincoln Take Pride in our customer satisfaction. We have proven to [redacted] that we will take full responsibility if we are at fault for anything its just the way we do business.

Response:

The business has responded to your rejection. Please see below:To whom it may concern, We have no way of researching the vehicle service history unless is posted on the carfax. We didn't at anytime knew there was a problem with the customers transmission till after the customer put this complaint in, and we have yet to see anything showing that we would have been aware of this issue. If [redacted] would like a refund for the warranty to settle the matter we can do that. It will be prorated.

Review: I bought a 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid from White Plains Lincoln in Oct 2013 as a Certified Used car. I complained severally of Vibration and shaking of the car after a month of purchase till 2 months ago that it's became so bad, I called their maintenance department , I was reffered to Honda Dealership , I went to Honda of Yonkers today 12/**/2015, only for them to discover through [redacted] that the car has a structural damage report due to an accident with the 1st owner. I went to their office to show my dissatisfaction about the car they sold to me , all they could come to is financing another car and transferring my balance on the Honda Civic toward the next car, I felt ripped off and cheated by this actions . I could have had an accident in the car , they owe me an apology and compensation .Desired Settlement: Replacement without additional cost

Review: I signed an agreement to purchase a vehicle for $11,500. I PAID $5000 cash. When I went to pick up the car the loan that I was given was $14,187. I already had signed when I noticed such a high amount. I was told that the price went up because of a $3,000 warranty, $1422.96 for a bank fee, $1296.08 for taxes, $37 for inspection, $75 dealer fee, and a $99.00 bank fee for the dealership fee. When I called the warranty company, they said I was only charged $400 for a warranty and I faxed over proof that I paid $3000. So the warranty opened up a fraud investigation against the dealership and said they would return the money to the bank. I want to know where is the $5000 I put down cash, which I also have a receipt for. I contacted the financing company, Santander Consumer, and they said the White Plains Lincoln never reported to them the cash money I paid. I should be paying $6,500 to $7,000 for the car. This company committed fraud and they said if I return the car that they will report me to the credit union as a repossession. I want to keep the car but where is my $5,000 deposit????Desired Settlement: I want the money that I put down (he $5,000) to be applied to the car. I didn't need to finance $14,187. They bumped up the car price to $12,850.00 after I already signed for $11,500.00. I also want the taxes to be reviewed and why am I paying for the dealership fees that have to be paid to the bank when they told us that's the dealership responsibility?
