I then spoke to *** and *** about wiring the navigation lights, interior led/courtesy lights, stereo system installation, gauges/switch panel installation, rub rail installation, cushioning for all the seating and Bimini top installation. After speaking with the three of you, I asked if this is a project that you would be interested in pursuing. Your answer was 'absolutely'. You expressed that it was well with in your capabilities and it was a project you would be excited to help me complete. We agreed upon an $3600. Price to complete the project. In which, I paid $1800 up front upon your request. We spoke about a timeline and based on our conversation you could start with in 2 weeks and it would be completed by Memorial Day. Over the next several days I brought parts that I ordered to be installed on my boat to the shop. Over several weeks all the parts were delivered to your shop and Memorial Day came and went. Then I was told I would have my boat completed by July 4th. I decided to stop by to see if any progress had taken place. I noticed my boat was still parked in the exact spot when I dropped it off 2 months earlier. After the 2nd month I became very concerned and inquired about the status/progress of where we're at in the restoration. *** then informed me he was behind and has some employees quit causing the delays. Over the course of 3 months I noticed my boat was in the exact spot and no work completed. I was told as soon as we get the King star board, it should only take a couple of days to install. I asked to be present during installation to ensure the console and bench seating would be positioned appropriately for my height and arm length for an ergonomically fit (this was the most important reason for the project). I was told that would not be a problem, I would be notified and I could stop by for the placement for the console and bench seating. This never happened. The interior was put together and installed in the boat without any consulting or regard for my request to be present. Weeks passed with no update on progress. I would call on a Monday and *** would say it will be completed on Friday. This went on for several more weeks. I would call *** on Monday and promised the boat would be completed by Friday. In total I was told my boat was completed on four different occasions. When a deadline was missed, I never received a call from *** or any employee from Wicked Stiches with an explanation.
I received a phone call from *** stating we were at a standstill due to the motor needed to be placed back on the boat and wired in order to place the remainder of the storage, modification to the sun deck and Bimini top. Then I received multiple phone calls from *** asking that I pay the remaining balance even though the work was not complete due to the fact that your rent was due. I came and took my boat to be re-powered. The mechanic was very concerned about the wiring and the safety risk. His exact words were, 'This does not meet marine standards.? Upon further investigation, car audio wiring harness was used for the installation instead of marine grade wiring harness. Audio speaker wire was used to power my navigational lights. This could have lead to fire or electrical shock, putting my family and I at risk. The switch panel is not marine grade and it is not installed in the King Starboard correctly, this will cause water to penetrate and cause shorting. The stern light wiring harness was crimped while in your possession and was reconnected not using water proof connectors with exposed wires also potentially causing a short or electoral shock. I also received a second opinion on the wiring with that Marine electrician drawing the same conclusion as the first. I had to pay for both of these professional services. Both refused to connect any electrical components with reports that it would have to be completely redone to meet marine standards. Rub rail was improperly installed, not fastened correctly displaying a wavy appearance. The interior has improper bracing with screws that are not appropriate length. Incorrect fasteners used on the sundeck lid have come apart. And after two trips on the lake, bench sitting is now starting to separate.
