Review: A few months ago I went to this boutique to get a hair extension. The [redacted] told me she had no extension to match my hair color and to come back when my hair lightened up. A few months later on August **, 2013 there was another employee there named [redacted]. She tried several different pieces in my hair. I noticed she never cleaned them but put them back into the box. What if I or the fifty women before me had [redacted]? This disturbed me but I was preoccupied with my hair. She then found another piece that she thought matched EXACTLY to the back of my hair. I asked her several times to make sure because the mirror she gave me and the lighting in the store was not helpful so I went on her supposed expertise since I could not see the back of my head. I purchased this piece for $100. When I put it on the next day I couldn't believe how OFF the color was. Also after having it on for 2 minutes there was hair all over my bathroom floor, very poorly made extension. Since they are closed during the week the following weekend I called and spoke with [redacted]. She refused to believe that I never wore the extension and made all these accusations that I must have gotten my use of it, now I want to return it. She insisted it did match and refused to take it back. She said they do not accept refunds do to HEALTH REASONS! When I called the [redacted] she was very fast to insult and throw her accusations at me as well. She vented to me about dealing with everyones lies. I told her I am not lying and that her employee sold me an extension that did not match my hair. She then said it is the job of her employee to sell and make money for her. I said really? so its ok to lie to your customers? She then insulted me by further saying if she were me she would of been smart enough to know it didn't match. Then went further to say I probably dyed my hair and now I cant use it anymore. I told her I wanted my money back and every time she said she would do something for me she threw in another insult. I want a refund.Desired Settlement: I want to return the hair extension piece that I never wore and get my money back. Also I think its unbelievable that she can have the nerve to say she does not accept refunds do to health reasons when those wigs and extensions in her store are put on a lot of womens head without being cleaned. Her store is the health risk.

I apologize for the delay. I just received your letter yesterday from mall management. Through numerous phone conversations, I have spoken to the complaintant to resolve this issue. I also had the mall manager and customer service representative from the manufacture try to reason with this individual. We have offered her replacement or store credit with all being failed attempts.

All the clients are informed of our store policy at the time of purchase. We do not normally refund or exchange any products. All defective products are warrantied by the manufacturer with a replacement not a refund. She refused our accommodation to provide her a new hairpiece.

Therefore, no further action will be taken on our behalf.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[redacted] thought she was doing me a favor by taking the hair extension back and offering me a $50 store credit. Why would I want a $50 store credit when I paid $99. Not only are her hair pieces a health hazard they are also defective so again why would I want any product from her store. I explained to the manufacturer when he called that none of the hair pieces that he sold to her store matched my hair. Also why would I want to loose money on his product that was obviously so poorly made. Bottom line is I was attacked by not only the employee but by the owner herself. Anyone who owns a business should know how to deal with the public. She said to me she's tired of dealing with people like me...whatever that means. All I know is morally and ethically she's wrong and does not deserve my money after the way her and her employee treated me. Also, her employee did not tell me there was a no return policy or I would of thought twice. She was to busy trying to convince me what a perfect match the extension was to my hair. I only found out when I looked for the receipt to return the hair extension then noticed how it so ironically stated no returns do to health risks.
