to the business by the time the parts arrived the shop was not able to do these repairs. The parts could not be returned but the business attempted to locate a shop that is able to do this work. The business was able to locate a business that had the needed tool to do this work. The business towed the vehicle to the show free of charge for the customer and it has been with that business since the time of the tow.

Review: I recently went to the shop to have my EGR valve tube replaced. When I went to pick up the car I paid $97.08 and drove off. I noticed that the part I originally asked to be fixed was not fixed. I went back to the shop about a week later and told them about the issue. They said they had replaced some other EGR hoses which were not the ones I wanted replaced. So they said they would only charge me for the part and half price for labor for the next job which was to replace the EGR tube I wanted replaced the first time. So I returned a few days later to go through with the repair. I dropped it off on a Wednesday for the repair and returned Thursday to pick it up. They were not able to successfully replace the EGR tube and ended up breaking a part of the tube in the exhaust manifold. They also told me they could not get the part to fit and they could not find it anywhere else but online. So it was a complete waste of time and effort to even attempt it because they did not have the correct part to begin with. So now I would have to replace the whole exhaust manifold instead of just replacing the tube because part of it is stuck in the exhaust manifold. They told me I still had to pay $43.42 because labor had been performed. So I asked for a total refund from both jobs because what I wanted replaced was not done. They told me no. So now I have spent a total of $140.50 and I have none of the requested work completed. I also have a car which is in worse shape then how I bought it in the shop.Desired Settlement: To refund me for the total amount plus pay for the exhaust manifold part and replacement.

Revdex.com spoke with the owner of the business who provided the following response:He stated that he came in for a state inspection on October 13, and failed the inspection for a list of about 12 items. At that time, the owner told the customer that the vehicle had a lot of issues and that due to the age of the vehicle (1995) and the extent of the issues, he should think about getting rid of it. The customer came back February 23 to replace EGR tubes. The business replaced two EGR tubes that were on top of the engine and were very obviously bad. The exhaust was leaking at that point, making the vehicle very loud, and they weren't able to detect any other leaks at that time. The customer came back several days later and at that point, his exhaust had been replaced, and the vehicle was much quieter and it made it much easier to determine other issues. The customer pointed out a different tube that he wanted replaced that was leaking, and said that he didn't want the two other tubes replaced previously. The business explained that those two tubes that were previously replaced were completely broken and did need to be replaced, and they were the most obvious issues when he had requested EGR tube replacement. The owner told the customer that they would look at the other tube he wanted replaced, but may run into other issues when doing the work because of the age of the vehicle and the extensive problems. The mechanics worked 4 hours on the vehicle trying to remove the damaged tube to replace it, and had to heat up the tube and break it on one side to get it off. They then ordered the part from another shop, and then once they received it, realized the shop had sent the wrong part. They again called the shop and gave the VIN number to the shop, and were told that the part was discontinued by Ford and was no longer produced because the model of the vehicle was so sold. They called around to other stores and were not able to find the part because it was on such an older vehicle and generally after market parts are not made for vehicle older than 2000, and the manufacturer no longer makes the parts. The owner told the customer that if he was able to find the part online he would install it for him, but that they do not purchase online parts. The customer opted to take his vehicle and not get a part from somewhere else to have it installed, even though it was leaking. The customer disputed the amount that he was charged but the customer was given a discount as far as the money made by the shop, but the owner stated that he still had to charge the amount that the mechanics worked because he had to pay them for the 4 hours they spent working on the vehicle. The owner told him that he could take the receipts for the work that had been done and take it to other reputable businesses, and said that if he could find another business to say that the Wilder's Auto Repair had ripped him offer, or overcharged him, he would refund the money he had paid. The owner stated that he charged far less than what his normal rate is, and spent a lot of time working on this vehicle but because of the age of the vehicle and the the amount wrong with it, there isn't anything more he can do.

Review: About a month ago I took my [redacted] for a diagnostic. He told me there was a problem with timing chain and that the car was missing and that fixing this would correct the problem. I told him to go ahead and repair it with a repair tag of close to 3k and that the car would be ready in about a week. So when the week had elapsed I went there and the owner told me he had tried to contact me because for a job like that he would need half of the money to begin the repair. So I went there and gave 1.745 approx. to get the repair started and again... they told me by Friday a week or so. So I heard nothing from them and when I did the owner a [redacted] told me that his mechanic who did that work had quit and that the repair required a special tool that he didnt have and it was not his fault, in a nutshell. Now after our initial conversation he says that the money went to parts and he had them all stacked up in a corner. I was told that I was paying half for them to start the job. To this date he insists that he is trying to find the tool or some other shade tree mechanic who MAY be able to do the job. When I went there on the 31st of July I asked him how is it that I am out of my money and no service was done. he told me that the parts were ordered and non refundable. I told him that during our initial discussion he told me I was paying half of the total job NOT FOR PARTS. I didnt want to get into it with him, all I wanted was my car repaired. He tells me he has been in business for so many years and this has never happened before. He made a verbal agreement that his shop could repair the vehicle and I have nothing to do with the hiring and quitting of his employees. If he could not perform the service he should not have accepted the job and take my money.Desired Settlement: Outside of the price of the diagnostic, I would like to have my money refunded so I can get my car to someone who can fix it.
