I had Wilkes Plumbing come to my house after deciding to finishing my basement. Jerry(the owner) listened to my ideas and recommended several key changes to the plans that saved me money...and saved me from making several costly rookie mistakes. I have worked with Caroline to pick out fixtures and to handle the financial issues. I was impressed with the quality of work, suggestions and respect for my time. I originally called them due to a leaking and cracked valve in my basement about 1 year prior to my last experience. They are responsive, do a good job and are reasonably priced.

The plumber came out to fix a water heater but it was damaged so he called in warranty for a new one. He stated once I picked up the hot water heater call the company back and they will send someone out to re-hook up the water heater. I called the company and they attempted to give me the run around saying that they were booked solid. I explained that we have been without hot water for days now. She then stated that she was sorry and they could get someone out soon. After she said that the owner got on the phone and stated if I wanted them to come out that I would have to pay first. I stated that I don’t have to pay because it’s under warranty and the labor is covered. He stated if I didn’t have documentation of that then I would have to pay. I asked him to talk to the plumber who came out because he was the one who spoke with the warranty company. At this point I asked him why was he yelling and raising his voice. I couldn’t raise my voice because I was at work. He said we won’t be coming back, find someone else and hung up. I immediately called back, he began to get irrate. I attempted to talk but he was yelling and calling me names. He told me never to call back again and find someone else and hung up. When I called the warranty company they stated he never called to give them a price for the services. His behavior was very unprofessional and rude especially for a business owner. He didn’t let me speak and he didn’t talk to the plumber about what was going on. This was a horrific experience and I would not recommend this company to anyone even if he was the last plumbing company on the earth. Needless to say I had to find another company to finish the work they started.

Our insurance selected Wilke's Plumbing to assess/repair our electric water heater which was underperforming.
On 1/14 we had the plumber here, who determined one of the two heating elements needed replacement. In the attempt to do so he damaged the unit in such a fashion that it had to be replaced.
On 1/21 they showed up 1 hour 50 minutes late to install the new unit. After 90 minutes it was supposedly installed but the plumber could not connect the electric. The plumber requested me to find an electrician to complete the job he could not finish. I told him that this was not acceptable and he needed to find a way to complete the install timely.
The plumber consulted the owner, who then showed showed up and after some time was able to connect the unit so it was working. While they did so, they blamed poor installation of the old unit, and the only way they could do it was to connect it temporarily, an electrician was needed to finish the job in compliance with the building code. The owner told me that it was not his job and I was on my own. When I responded that this was not acceptable and it was past 2.15 pm for a job scheduled at 10 am , he then raised his voice, became beligerent, until I told them that we had spent enough time on this and I'd like for them to finish. He then told his team to "Let's get out of here" and they stormed off.
I then called insurance company to report what I deem very unprofessional conduct and unacceptable installation.

I would highly recommend Wilkes plumbing, they are very friendly, the plumbers are friendly and personable. They got the job done quickly and im very happy with everything.
