[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Honesty is a valuable trait in a business owner The response I recently received (from William's Beer and Wine) states that price labels are on all products There are no labels on alcoholic beverages, only food, which there is little of Furthermore, I personally know at least people that can attest to their unfair pricing The incident that caused me to create this complaint, involved other patrons who were present at the time Those whom I have never met, agreed with my complaint The owner's employee makes up one price, thus I bring in exact change for the same item I purchased However, the owner states a price that is $ higher; this happened about every month When I realized this change in pricing, the owner (William) yelled at me and told me I was wrong William claims that he is keeping up with competition...his competition sells the same products for nearly $less If they are honest in their pricing and provide price tags (per the letter received from William's Beer and Wine), why is the owner callous in his declaration that I am wrong (during the incident)? That is a crass accusation, which would bring someone to wonder...are they really maintaining customer loyalty and fairly pricing their items? If this is true today, then maybe my complaint served its purpose I refuse to re-enter the hostile environment of William's Beer and Wine, and hope that they have finally come to a fair realization Regards, [redacted]

I am writing this with reference to the above complaint
We have operated this business for a very long timeThis is the first time that we have come across a complaint of this nature
We are a retail and our existence is dependant upon happy customersWe always try to keep them happy
Prices at the Store are subject to changeThis is due to the following reasons:
1) We purchase our beer and wine from Montgomery County, the prices we purchase for change every other weekTherefore, our prices are also subject to change according to those changes
2) We also have to change our prices to keep up with the competition
We are required to put price stickers on all products and we try our best to comply
We have all price stickers listed below our alcoholic products
There are many different items we sell and it is difficult to list prices for each of themFurthermore, we would like to apologize to any customer who we may have inconvenienced especially ***We will continue to try our hardest to list all prices for every product we sell

Honesty is a valuable trait in a business owner.  The response I recently received (from William's Beer and Wine) states that price labels are on all products.  There are no labels on alcoholic beverages, only food, which there is little of.  Furthermore, I personally know at least 5 people that can attest to their unfair pricing.  The incident that caused me to create this complaint, involved 2 other patrons who were present at the time.  Those whom I have never met, agreed with my complaint.  
 
         The owner's employee makes up one price, thus I bring in exact change for the same item I purchased.  However, the owner states a price that is $ .10 higher; this happened about every month.  When I realized this change in pricing, the owner (William) yelled at me and told me I was wrong.  William claims that he is keeping up with competition...his competition sells the same products for nearly $1 less.  If they are honest in their pricing and provide price tags (per the letter received from William's Beer and Wine), why is the owner callous in his declaration that I am wrong (during the incident)?  That is a crass accusation, which would bring someone to wonder...are they really maintaining customer loyalty and fairly pricing their items?  If this is true today, then maybe my complaint served its purpose.  I refuse to re-enter the hostile environment of William's Beer and Wine, and hope that they have finally come to a fair realization.

1)    We are required to buy Beer & Wine from Montgomery County at the price decided upon by the County.
2)    We have to change our prices to keep up with the competition.
We are required to put price stickers on all products and we try our best to comply.
We are required to list each item separately on the receipt given to the customer.

Review: William's Beer & Wine is notorious for raising prices on their alcohol. There are no price labels on or near their alcohol products. Unfair prices are accessed on a monthly basis. One weekend the price is $3.59 (raised from the last month's price), then the next weekend it is $3.79 (after tax). That same product is around $3.29 after tax at other beer stores. In addition, the prices are contingent on who is working the register. For example, if the owner is working at the cash register, then the price of the alcohol is different (often, more) from the price his employee assesses. The business should post prices on their items with alcohol, since food prices are present. Furthermore, their receipts do not list the items being purchased only the grand total. This makes it impossible to compare the previous price to the current one, in order to prove that their prices are unfair.Desired Settlement: Their business and prices should be investigated.
