I started a debt consolidation program with this law firm in December of 2014, after months of not hearing any updates from the firm I called to inquire, they assured me they were working with my account, months went without hearing anything from the firm, until last month when I received a letter informing me that the company they were dealing with went bankrupt and assuring me that my account was continuing as normal. I called them several times after I received that letter with no success, calls were being sent to a voice mail saying a that someone will return the call within 7 business days to which I never received. I was able to speak with someone after an hour and half of waiting on the phone 8/25/15, I told them I wanted to close my account and to reemburse me for all the money they took from me from 12/2014 until now, the lady was really nasty and said they firm had to get paid for their work, which was nothing because nothing was done with my accounts. she said they were only reembursing me $367 out of $1200 that I had already paid them to work on my debt consolidation to which none of my accounts were ever paid or even reached an agreement. PLEASE stay away from this horrible firm.

Response:
Williamson & Howard, LLP (the “Law Firm”) apologizes for any
confusion experienced by Consumer.
Consumer entered into attorney-client agreements with the Law Firm – not
[redacted] – for debt resolution, bankruptcy and other legal services. Consumer executed these agreements which
explained the services offered by the Law Firm and relevant fees. In addition, Consumer completed oral
recordings confirming his desire to engage the services of the Law Firm.
The Law Firm previously utilized an outsourced administrative agent,
[redacted], to provide the Law Firm with non-legal administrative support
services. There was never a contractual
or other relationship between [redacted] and Consumer. The Law Firm no longer utilizes the
professional support services of [redacted] due to the company’s closure and
filing of bankruptcy. It was Morgan
Drexen – not the Law Firm – that filed for bankruptcy and is no longer
operating. The Law Firm’s representation
of Consumer was not affected by the bankruptcy and closure of [redacted].
Consumer’s file has been reviewed and the Law Firm will attempt a
resolution directly with the Consumer.

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Review: My husband and I contracted with [redacted]son & Howard, LLP firm through MDRX Services, their administrative support service provider.
We were to get legal representation by [redacted]son & Howard, LLP with respect to bankruptcy. The initial fee for this representation was $160.00 and $160.00 each month for 24 months. We paid the initial fee. The sales person we talked with was [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] contacted us via phone sent us documents by Fed Ex and when we received the documents we were to call him and he directed us to a website and we signed the agreement electronically, and gave him my account information to debit the account for the $160.00 initial fee. He told us that we would be represented by Attorney [redacted] who would contact us by phone for the initial consultation on July 1, at 6:00 pm. I received an email from them to confirm the appointment and it was noted in the email that there would be a 2 hour window. We waited from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm and received no phone call. While waiting we called customer service for [redacted]son & Howard, LLP and the rep told us that he was with another client and had probably run over in the meeting and that we would get a call. No call was received.
I tried calling the attorney using the phone number I got from his website, but the call would not go through.
Being that it was a holiday weekend we decided to call on Monday. When we called on Monday we got a recording to hold and within a few minutes it disconnected the call. We tried calling back numerous times. but from then on we would get disconnected and also had a recording that said call back at normal business hours. I also called the attorney [redacted] and received a message that the number had been disconnected and no longer in service
I now believe that this is some sort of scam and we have gotten taken for $160.00
This company is not legit and we want our money refunded!!

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
We have heard from the business and We are not satisfied with their response. We paid for a service and did not receive the service. Along with the service they were to provide us with an attorney. When they did not call for our initial consultation, nor respond to our phone calls We tried to call the attorney by locating him via his website and We were told that his phone number was no longer in service. The business now wants to give us the same attorney. We don't think so! This is a scam and we want our money refunded! We thought they were legitimate and they are not. The only way to resolve this matter is to refund our money!
