Review: Willman Service came to my house to fix a dryer that was not heating. I was told that the dryer was not connected to the gas line. Michael, the repair person, connected the dryer and said it might need an adapter kit from natural gas to propane. He said he would contact me about the part needed. I was called by Willman Service for payment for the dryer and told no adapter kit was needed. I paid for the service call with a credit card over the phone. A few days later, when I subsequently tested the dryer, it still did not heat. I contacted Willman Service and they initially declined to send a repair person back telling me I needed a plumber or I should contact the manufacturer of the dryer. After a prolonged struggle on the phone, they agreed to send Michael back.

He was supposed to arrive on Friday, 9/**/15 with a window of 11-2:00. When he had still not arrived at 1:40 I called the office to check on his progress. They were unable to reach him. I left the house at 2:00 and got a call at 2:20 that he had arrived at the house. I told him he could enter the house in my absence and fix the dryer. When I arrived home at 6:00 pm that evening, I found the dryer unplugged and the exhaust hose disconnected. There was no explanation. No paperwork. Nothing. Because the dryer was still hooked up to the gas line, I was unsure if it was unplugged by Michael for a safety issue. I called Willman Service on Friday after hours and left a message asking to be updated on the status of the dryer. According to their automated message, they have Saturday hours from 9-12:00. When they did not return my call by 9:30 on Saturday, I called again. No answer. I called again at 11:30 and asked, again, that they let me know what the status was with the dryer and if there was a safety issue that prompted Michael to unplug it. There was no answer again, and my call was not returned.

They have charged me for a service call that did not repair the problem; they were late and discourteous about standing behind their work, and finally they did not communicate with me what the current situation is with the dryer and whether it is unsafe.Desired Settlement: Though the interaction with Willman Service caused me to miss work and to spend wasted hours waiting for them, I am not asking to be compensated for my time. I am asking that the service call be refunded since they did not repair the problem initially and did not stand behind their work for 90 days as is their claim.

The service call as I recall is as follows: [redacted] called Willman Service for a dryer repair and insisted that we bring what is called a converter. I ordered it and a few days later when it came in I sent Michael the repairman out with it. He stated that she did not need the part because the gas valve was turned off leading to the dryer. He turned it back on and the dryer heated perfectly. The customer called a few days later and said that the dryer was not heating. When Michael returned he noticed that there was a broken ignitor that wasn't broken on the first visit. The customer stated that the dryer may have been moved because there was work being done in the house and the dryer was moved. When Willman Service attempted to order the correct part, the customer was very upset and wanted her money back. The policy with Willman Service is that the service call is warrantied for 90 days on the same appliance. The customer did not give us the opportunity to continue the service with no extra charge and demanded her money to be returned. She was extremely rude and would not understand that we were not at fault and refused to allow us to return under the same service call. She then called her bank and demanded the charge be credited back to her account. Willman Service has been in business since 1932 and stands behind our work and would gladly have corrected this if given the chance. ----- Original Message -----
