Willow Springs Center Reviews (1)

All and all this place is not that bad. This place is way to relaxed with the children in there care. They support until healthy eating like soda for 3 meals and pastries for breakfast. My daughter has been in this place with some improvement but she is physically until fit she has gained 25 to 30lbs in 4 to 5 months. How is a unhealthy body good for a mind that is unhealthy? And on 12/21/14 my daughter was cutting herself with a object that other girls got into this place some how. They never called use to let use know what happened. Again this place is way to relaxed and should have better ways of handling kids like my daughter and others that are in there. They should be working on physical health and just not mental health too.Desired SettlementMaybe change some rules or put new ones in place to better protect this kids and the others around them stop being so relaxed. Work on physical health cut it goes hand in hand with a health brain.Business Response Contact Name and Title:[redacted]Contact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]January 12, 2015[redacted]Dear [redacted]I appreciated hearing about the experience you and your child had while receiving care here at Willow Springs Center. As a result of your letter I wanted to let you know that [redacted] BSN, RN Chief Nursing Officer and [redacted] LCSW, LCADC Director of Clinical Services has shared your concerns with their staff and have also had our Dietician review our menus. In about a month we will be adding more physical activities and healthy living groups to our programs. Keeping in mind that some medications that patients are on will increase their appetite, so making good choices will be part on the healthy living. I know how important our children's health is and applaud your desire to be an advocate. Thank you for taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention, this allows us the opportunity to evaluate the services that we provide. If you have any further concerns or questions, please contact me at [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted] RN[redacted] BSN, RNWillow Springs CenterDirector of Performance Improvement and Risk Management690 Edison WayReno, Nevada 89502Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)OK I underside that u may be trying but u can not let Children make a choice between SODA and something good to drink. They will not make that choice they will always choice Soda or other junk. Those children are in there for mental help and yet you and your staff leave it to them to make the Right choice lol that is ridiculous. The Soda should be off the menu completely or at least used for special events or weevents only. Why do u think soda is not a option in schools? My child has braces and she is getting signs of cavitie on her Adult Teeth. Sense u guys give her the option of brushing her teeth she does not and not to mention her 20 lbs of weight she has gained sense she has been in there it's not a response able choice on Willow Springs Part to put Soda on the menu.Final Business Response February 5, 2015[redacted]Dear [redacted]Thank you for taking the time to bring your concerns about our cafeteria to my attention. I did share your concerns with our Dietitian here at Willow Spring Center. And she has made several adjustments in the drink choices that our patients may have. Being that some meals soda, juice and flavored water machines may not be on. Which does encourage our patients to make different choices. We are continuing with the process of adding more physical activities and healthy living groups to our programs. Again we I know how important our children's health is and applaud your desire to be an advocate. If you have any further concerns or questions please contact me at [redacted].
