Review: I have been with Wilson Insurance (Safeco) for 4 years. After 4 years my new policy was sent with the total due doubled for the exact same policy. I called Wilson Insurance and asked why? I was told by Cathy, she would look into it and get back to me the same day. She didn't so after a week I started looking for a new insurance agency. I found an insurance company who offered me the exact same coverage for $6.00 more a month and saved me $150. a year on home owners. The problem is I called Wilson Insurance from the other insurance companies office and told them to cancel my insurance policies, my main concern was I did not want the automatic deduction taken out of my checking account (which would happen next week) I was assured by [redacted] that this would not happen, that she would personally take care of this. She didn't, and not only did they take out money, now my account is overdrawn. This is totally incompetent! Now my account is marked because they did not do their job correctly. When I called Wilson Insurance I was told by [redacted] that it was a mistake on her part and she would call Safeco today and have the money put back in my account and if I sent proof of the overdraft a check would be sent to cover the overdraft fee. Well the money is still not back in my account and my credit is marked because of their incompetency.Desired Settlement: The money was taken from my account wrongfully and the money should be replaced immediately, no excuses! Why am I waiting for money they took wrongfully. I honestly feel this was done intentionally out of spite, and thats why I am writing the Better Business Bereau.

In response to your letter dated August 29, 2013, we would like to address the complaint Ms. [redacted] has made against the Wilson Insurance Agency.

Ms. [redacted] states that our office did not respond as to why her insurance premium increased. The fact is, on 08/09/13, 11:48am, there was a conversation with Ms. [redacted] in which my staff member indicated the increase was due to a change in her underwriting status or insurance score.

Ms. [redacted] then called our office on 08/23/13 stating she had found insurance with another insurance company and would like her policies cancelled effective 08/23/13. My staff member had emailed cancellation requests to cancel both her home and auto policies for signatures, but due to her urgency to get the policies cancelled before Ms. [redacted]'s payment withdrawal date with Safeco Insurance Company; my staff did so without her signatures in good faith. Unbeknownst to my staff member, cancelling the policy on 08/23/13 was not enough time for Safeco to stop the automatic payment and Safeco withdrew the money on 08/27/13.

During our conversation with Ms. [redacted] on 08/27/13, she had indicated that her checking account was overdrawn due to the insurance company withdrawal with an additional overdraft fee. My staff member then called Safeco Insurance and was told they saw where the policy was cancelled on 08/23/13, but needed more time than what was allotted for their system to stop the automatic withdrawal. Safeco stated they will reimburse the insured the payment plus the overdraft fee provided our office supplies them with a copy of Ms. [redacted]'s bank statement showing the payment withdrawn with the overdraft fee. Ms. [redacted] emailed the copy of her bank statement and it was emailed immediately to Safeco's Accounting Department. Flowever, when Safeco received the emailed bank statement, they stated it was insufficient evidence because it was not an actual copy of Ms. [redacted]'s bank statement, which has delayed the refund and NSF fee into her bank account until 09/10/13.
