Winchester Medical Center

On 1/7/16 my son left a suicide letter with intent to harm himself. I want to the school where he is a student and they brought him to Winchester medical centers. First off, I was distraught not having seen my son since 8am and it being 12pm. The hospital staff were rude, discourteous and unsympathetic. I said if they couldn't let me see my son I'd sign him out and take him to fair oaks hospital. Wmc suggested I sign an ama to bring him to the hospital of my choice. As I did so they sent the police to our house and picked my son up. After all that is said and done my son is a MINOR, 16 to be exact. Hippa was violated because my boyfriend received medical information and I did not. I am his mother! Then I'm getting visible upset, crying for 8 hours I want to see my son but he's so angry bc the police picked him up you all refused to let me see him. My boyfriend was permitted back to the holding area to see my son and the officer asked if I was on drugs!!! How dare he, my son overheard him say this as well. My son was there for treatment not for his mother to be scrutinized. I'd prefer not to have any family member treated there but obviously I had no choice. How would he feel if his son wrote a letter of intent to kill himself and the hospital wasn't being forthright and never had me sign a consent to treat. The security guard that arrived at around 8pm was rude, abrupt and raised his voice when I asked if I could tell my son goodbye. He yelled this is a triage area and go sit down with everyone else. Perhaps your emergency took staff need some sensitivity training, because this is not the first time no empathy or support was offered during a crisis. Violating hippa by disclosing medical information to someone whom is not the minors guardian is concerning. I was distraught tearful, anxious, do you think anyone offered me any kind of support? No, they made references that I was on drugs in front of my suicidal teen who has a substance abuse problem. I will take this matter as far as needed until your staff learns what compassion is! They may have a stressful job but they are paid, my son attempting to end his life deserves to be carefully attended too. My son refused to see me because of me turning his suicide note in, however your lack of empathy toward me displayed just what type of facility you are. The older security guard with the beard has better receive some customer service training. I'm not thanking you for your poor service and lack of empathy! Send me a bill and I'll be happy to forward it to the court system or the newspaper.

Review: I have been in touch with this company's attorneys ([redacted] and [redacted]) And have explained my situation and health issues, they are now in the process of garnishing my wages ay the [redacted] county school board. for the total amount of 1121.89. I cannot pay this bill because of on going disability since June 3rd 2013, which [redacted] and [redacted] is aware of. I am currently NOT WORKING since Nov the 8th 2013 ( HAVE TRIED TO GO Back to work 3 time but was unable, because of my disease of the spine including lower back, right arm and shoulder)As I say I am not working and have applied of Social Security Disability benefits, which I have Not yet received.
