Review: A window of my house is crack and Window Depot refuses to replace it. I have a warranty which covers this issue, but they do not want to do it.

After 2 months and send all documents they have asked for, they just asked to contact manufacturer of window, but my warranty is from Window Depot not from manufacturer. They don't careDesired Settlement: I just need to get my window replaced

Review: Company fails to maintain an working phone number for the business. One number states the extension is not available at the moment, but does not give the option to leave a message or choose an alternate extensionDesired Settlement: Provide a good number to contact for warranty service. I have a product that should be covered under warranty service. Repair/replace the product according to warranty.

Review: In November 2009 my husband and I purchased triple pane windows and sliding glass doors from Window Depot USA of MD [redacted], [redacted]. The invoice had addresses for MD office [redacted] MD [redacted]. They were installed in December 2009. We received a Lifetime Warranty through their corporate office [redacted] PA [redacted], [redacted]; Window Depot of Central PA. In past couple of months we have noticed cloudy spots developing on the interior (middle) window panes, as well as some cracks in the middle panes. On July 26, I attempted to contact the company by calling the above numbers, and determined that these numbers don't belong to the company any longer. I went on the internet and contacted the [redacted] MD office, and was told they couldn't help us, and to contact the window manufacturers directly. On Jul 26, 2013 I emailed Windows Depot USA corporate in [redacted] OH through their website to get resolution with no response. On Aug 2, 2013 I mailed them a letter with no response. I know they received my letter since I sent it certified mail, and got back a return receipt. We paid top dollar for these windows, sliding glass doors, and are very disappointed that they installed a defective product that has degraded in less than 4 years. The company's business card said they were a member of the Revdex.com, and we trusted that we were getting a good product and service for the money. Now we can't even find or get a response from the company. At this point several of the windows and doors are demonstrating a problem, but it seems as time goes by additional windows are showing evidence of defect. Our scanner is on the fritz, so we are unable to upload supporting documents, but if necessary, we can mail copies. Please help.

Product_Or_Service: 7 windows, 2 6ft sliding glass doors

We would like the defective windows and doors to be replaced, as well as labor provided. We also need assistance from the company to come out to our home and measure the windows again, to make sure the correct windows are ordered, before they are replaced.

Response:

I thought I had clarified the complaint in my last correspondence. We purchased the windows/doors from Window Depot of Maryland through their [redacted]s, MD office [redacted], ###-###-####. On the invoice they had listed a corporate office Window Depot of Central PA [redacted] PA [redacted], ###-###-####. The Lifetime Warranty, which we received, says Window Depot USA of Central PA. We tried to contact the company through the above phone numbers, which no longer belong to this company. I called the [redacted] office of Window Depot for help initially, since I didn't know where else to turn. They did not sell us the windows/ doors, though, and the complaint is not with them. Since then we located an address for the President of Windows Depot of Central PA, [redacted] PA [redacted]. We sent him a certified letter with our complaint and request for him to honor the warranty. We received a return receipt back signed by [redacted] on 9/6/13, but we have not gotten any response from [redacted] re: replacing, installing defective windows. Thank you for your continuing help in this matter.

Review: I am trying to reach Window Depot regarding my windows that were purchased through them which are supposed to be under warranty. I am unable to reach them at any phone number listed. When I called the Revdex.com to find out if they were still in business, I was given the phone number for The Bureau of Consumer Protection. They told me to contact the Revdex.com that they could not give me that information. When I contacted the Revdex.com again, I was told of the "F" rating, but still not if Window Depot was still in business.

I am trying to get my windows fixed that were purchased by them.Desired Settlement: I am desiring to have my windows replaced by a reputable company.

Review: On November 26, 2007, I signed a contract for Window Depot to install 16 double hung low E Glass windows (with [redacted] and [redacted]) and six awning windows. The total cost for this purchase was $7253. Within a year or two, I noticed fogging in between the window panes that appears to be in the glass. As time has gone on, the windows have grown more fogged and more noticeably white. A relative in the window business believes the problem is caused by the windows not being properly sealed. About two years ago, I called Window Depot and explained the problem. The customer service representative said he could not help me because the fogging was caused by faulty glass and Window Depot cannot be held responsible for this. He was very rude and said I would have to take Window Depot to Court to get my money back. This seemed daunting and at the time I did not have the money to hire legal services. Over the next two years the windows kept getting worse. At the present time, I have hired a professional to repair the roof on my house. While putting on shingles, he noticed the poor condition of the windows and asked what the story was. He strongly advised getting new windows because eventually the windows would become completely opaque. He said to hire a lawyer to get my money back for the defective windows. The following day, I talked to a fellow coworker who had problems with a business and she used Revdex.com to resolve her problem. She recommended this site to me.Desired Settlement: Full refund of the $7253 that I paid for the windows plus $1200 from forgone interest on the investment that I could have received had my $7253 been invested in the bank.
