Window Solutions

Our house was built in 1950 and significantly remodeled in 1996, 3200+ feet on Mt Helix. Windows Solutions (WS) were one of several companies from whom I requested quotes, etc., and while WS wasn't the lowest cost provider, they proved they wanted my business by taking the time to get our solution right. All the doors and glass had to be Millgard 'low e' - tinted and with Xenon Gas in between the two frames of glass.

Example:

1) Our kitchen is Red & black, and we didn't want white vinyl window frames looking unfinished in the kitchen. Every other vendor refused to do anything, WS checked around and found a local vendor who would paint the internal frame of the new windows black, & bake it on before the windows were ever mounted!

2) Our custom home had 4 wooden framed glass doors, with large 'side lights' on either side that were larger than the doors. They were framed in with great woodwork that we didn't want replaced. Again, Every other vendor said we would have to choose a one-piece Door & 'side lights' built into a single unit that were 3.5 times as expensive as was replacing and installing the component pieces. But we wouldn't have known that until WS proposed and ultimately installed precisely what we had envisaged, and spent less money.

3) Millgard has two window types, one where the glass inside the frame is identical in both panes of glass (the one that slides open and the one that is stationary). The big high volume companies don't like to sell or install any other window even though it is most expensive.

Since every window in our house either has an ocean view or a mountain view, the maximum amount of glass is very important to us. We didn't even know that virtually all windows before these vinyl replacement windows that slide open have one pane of glass that is larger than the other (it's the one that doesn't slide that is slightly larger. So those guys are selling a fix to a problem that in our opinion does not exist.

We ended up with the less expensive Milgard window choice that actually has almost 25% more glass and more window to look through. The other more costly solution has less glass and actually looks like portholes when you realize they have to make the Vinyl frame around the stationary window much wider than otherwise required.

Windows solutions was willing to work with us and ultimately delivered the entire solution we wanted at a very competitive price. The other companies were not less expensive, because.....

At the end of their sales pitch and offer, they said 'oh, we will match anyone else's price, so you can't get a better deal than from us.

WHAT GAUL. All they were saying is that they won't work for the deal, but will match the cheapest for just those Millgard windows that didn't have any customizations, etc., which wouldn't deliver our entire solution.

Windows Solutions have great, down to earth people who truly care about their customers.

As an update: 3 years after they were installed, one of our black kitchen windows scratched the paint when it was pushed incorrectly. It was very small, so I called WS and they contacted the vendor who painted the windows and obtained a nice 4 ounce bottle of touch up paint which should last my lifetime.
