[redacted] in connection with your event on 11/**/14 as we see it Your event is Booked at Beach Club Estates and Count of Guests were brought to us 11/**/14. Generally give no refunds under the 2 week period. Clearly stated in your Contract. The Monies in Question 220.00 dollars was added to...

[redacted]'s pay check a Week later in her pay as it should and we did that but now also had to take it away from her as you wished in the next paycheck this takes time especially when we use a payroll company that cuts checks once a week and had to verify that 300.00 was given to her in cash. Sorry it took almost a week and a half to straighten out. But when we spoke the urgency wasn't there, just concern so we will send you a check in the mail. please call us at ###-###-#### if we can help you anymore. Regards [redacted]

Review: I booked Windows on the Lake for a party on 11/**/14. It was held at their secondary location, the Beach Club Estate. On the date of my final payment, 11/**, I inadvertently paid for four extra guests at $55 each, for a total of $220. I realized this when I returned home from the meeting for payment, and called and spoke to [redacted]. I asked that, in lieu of a refund or adjustment, that the $220 could be given to the [redacted] that evening as a tip. I was told that this was fine.

The evening of the party, I spoke to the [redacted], and told her that she should have received a tip already. She had not, and was unaware of any arrangement I had with Windows on the Lake. She called that location and there was no information about the agreement. I was embarrassed and annoyed, and tipped [redacted] $300 that evening. I called Windows on the following Monday, 11/**. I again spoke to [redacted] (who by the way, has quite an attitude) and she said that she could not authorize a refund and I needed to speak to [redacted]. He was supposed to call me at noon on 11/**.

I had not received any communication by 12/*, so I used the email function on their website to send the following:

"I held a birthday party on 11/** at your Beach Club Estate. On the date of my final payment, I overpaid for four people @ $55 dollars each. Upon arriving home after that payment, I immediately realized my error and called, asking if you could apply the extra $220 to the [redacted] as a tip. You indicated that this would be fine. At the event, I mentioned this to the [redacted]. She was not aware of this, and called Windows and was told there was no record of this. I tipped her $300 that evening, and was highly embarrassed by our exchange because I looked foolish since no one from Windows backed me up and I was made to look like a liar.

I called windows on the following Monday and was told that I would receive a call back. It is now 11 days later and you have not bothered to get in touch with me. There were SCPD and FDNY at this party. I am a teacher with 1400 people in my union and my girlfriend, the guest of honor, works for [redacted], a Fortune 200 company. My reason for mentioning this is not to threaten or be "that guy," but to express that all of us will be sure to never book Windows on the Lake for any event in the future, and will make sure no one we know does either, if you do not make this right.

This is a simple matter that I would highly appreciate you taking care of immediately."

I then received a call from [redacted], who had apparently not read the above missive, and had to spend about 15 minutes re-explaining the entire situation. He said he would get back to me. It is now 12/**, and I have received no communication regarding this matter.Desired Settlement: Having spent more than $4000 on this party, the matter of $220 has become a time consuming annoyance. I would like a refund immediately. I brought this to their attention on 11/**. I also want an apology and acknowledgement that this is not some kind of scam on my part, but an honest attempt to receive funds that are owed to me. Anything less than this, and Windows on the Lake will NEVER receive any business from me, nor anyone else at the party, nor our respective companies, unions, etc.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID#[redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

As of mail delivery today, I have still not received the check from Windows on the Lake that [redacted] said he would mail on 12/*9. This is why I did not respond that the complaint was resolved or not, since I had not received any communication from Windows when you closed the complaint on 12/**. I figured I would wait until today. Just because Windows claimed that it would do something does not mean it will be done, which is the entire basis of my complaint. Please do not consider this closed, as they have not taken care of the matter. Thank you very much. Sincerely, [redacted]
