I went to renew my lease recently. As I was walking out the same man made a snide remark about the incident that is described above. I went to speak with him to resolve this issue. Failure to clean carpets after Property Manager made a verbal agreement to clean the carpets in front of other witnesses, including office employees.Myself and Mr.[redacted] are both recent subleasing tenants. On September 8th, 2014 we were notified of the possibility of having our carpets cleaned by the apartment complex based on the fact that there had been a tenant living in the unit prior and we had signed a new lease. The office personnel did verbally reassure us that we would not be charged for carpet replacement or carpet cleaning of any kind upon move out. However, as cleanly residents we preferred to maintain the unit as tidy as possible. On the morning of September 11th, 2014 both Ms.[redacted] and Mr. [redacted] entered the apartment office to inquire about the carpet cleaning. [redacted], a leasing consultant, proceeded to ask [redacted], the Property Mananger, who was in her office with [redacted], the Assistant Manager. Ms. [redacted] verbally agreed to the carpet cleaning of our unit being as we were new tenants. We returned the following day and were told that she was mistaken and [redacted] told us, "she didn't mean it". Ms. [redacted] told Mr.[redacted], "I didn't fully understand your request". In the middle of speaking with Mr.[redacted], Ms. [redacted] took a phone call in her office and left him waiting in the office for 10 minutes without finishing the conversation. Ms. [redacted] never followed up with Mr. [redacted]. The request was made in front of multiple witnesses and agreed to under the same circumstances. Ms.[redacted] looked at Ms.[redacted] in the eye and acknowledged the question and agreed to have the carpets cleaned and paid for by Windsor at Tryon Village. We hope to have a pleasant experience living in this community. Desired SettlementWe request that Windsor at Tryon Village clean the carpets if not, replace them as terms for settlement.Business Response The individual filing the complaint is subletting the apartment from the original lease holder. With a sublet, the management company does not and is not responsible for getting the apartment in market ready condition including cleaning the carpets. This information is expressed to the individuals at the time of the sublet. When the individual came into the leasing office to complain about the condition of the carpet and request getting the carpets cleaned they did not include the fact that they were subletting the apartment. understood their request, they just misrepresented the situation. Furthermore, some of the other information submitted on this complaint is inaccurate.Consumer Response Tryon Village Apartments has agreed to clean the carpets as of October 17th, 2014. The company contracted and paid for a carpet cleaning service to come by today but neglected to inform us of the appointment. The carpet cleaning was rescheduled for Monday October 20th, 2014.
