Billing dispute, Wing memorial hospital,The In-network provider is billing for services covered by insurance above the co-pay. Billing dispute, Wing memorial hospital,The In-network provider is billing for services covered by insurance above the co-pay. This is the second time Wing has done this with a third party collection service. I want the amount disputed adjusted and my co pay refunded. Please find attached all supporting documents. Desired SettlementI want the amount disputed adjusted and my co pay refunded. Business Response Upon research of the complaint, patient made the same complaint last year. It appears that patient may not understand his benefits as described in his policies. The accounts in question have been billed and processed according to patients plan. The issue that patients is stating appears not true according to the EOBs from insurance company. In the spirit of good customer service, we will again refund his copays. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)As noted in "B" on the insurance statement it is not lawful for the provider to bill a patient directly for the disputed negotiated amount of services, you have "back charged" me for the difference not received from the insurance company. You did not refund the "co payment " last time, you refunded the "back charge. I do in fact understand my HNO policy and the law regarding billing in my state. Your gesture of bureaucratic benevolence is gracious , I would like you to keep your word and in fact refund my pervious [redacted] "copay" for the prior complaint and the last two as well as billing the correct party the insurance company. Three prior visits at [redacted] plus this complaint [redacted] dollars= [redacted] in co payments you said and say you will refund to me. I doubt you will, your interest is in collecting as much cash as is possible and has no correlation to good business never mind patient health and wellness. Bear in mind your billing practices with HMO contracts walk the edge of illegal activity if not blatantly amoralFinal Business Response Wing has processed the refund of [redacted] copays on the two accounts. Also the outstanding balance of [redacted] on both accounts have been adjusted.

Billed for two ED visits and was not treated. My maiden name at the time of service was [redacted] DOB [redacted]I was seen in Wing's ED once for shin/leg pain. No physician ever touched me. I was discharged with a "we don't know." Two days later, a physician in a different facility diagnosed anterior tibial tendonitis and rendered treatment. My appeal of the [redacted] charge for this ED visit was accepted, yet went to collections anyway.I visited Wing's ED on another occasion with abdominal problems. I told the intake nurse my pain was a TWO out of ten.A nurse attempted to give me IV morphine which I refused, as a medication such as morphine should NEVER be administered to a patient that is not in severe pain. I received no imaging, no physical examination. I was discharged and once again, "We don't know why you have abdominal discomfort."I immediately went to [redacted] Medical Center where I was seen, physically examined, given diagnostic blood work and an abdominal CT. The CT results showed MULTIPLE ovarian cysts and [redacted] rendered treatment. This hospital does not staff competent nurses and physicians as on two occasions, I was billed and never checked for anything that doctors at other facilities identified and treated immediately. It is clear that the billing department is also disorganized as my initial appeal was accepted and then sent to collections. This hospital is an absolute danger to patients because they test for nothing, dispense grossly inappropriate IV medications and discharge without an exam.Desired SettlementI expect the two [redacted] charges for these two separate visits removed completely as well as removed from any/all of my credit reports that read as delinquent. I did not receive any treatment whatsoever therefore I am not rendering payment.Business Response Ms. [redacted] case was reviewed by [redacted], [redacted] ourEmergency Department [redacted]. On May 10, 2014 Dr. [redacted] sent a letter to Ms. [redacted].In part, the letter states: I have reviewed the medical provider's documentations regarding your evaluation and management during the ED course on both April 1, 2012 and April 24, 2013. I feel that you received optimal care for your complaints. The follow up instructions were appropriate regarding your provider's diagnostic impressions. After this review, I have deemed that you will continue to be responsible for your co-payments.Once again thank you for providing your feedback. Please feel free to contact me if you have further concerns.Sincerely,[redacted]Emergency Department [redacted]Regarding Ms. [redacted] statement:My appeal of the [redacted] charge for this ED visit was accepted, yet went to collections anyway.Response:We have no documentation that we would waive the copay. Should Ms. [redacted] have such documentation we will gladly review the issue again.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The definition of "optimal care" is not broad. When a ** y/o female presents with lower abdominal pain and abnormalities, IV morphine is not "optimal care". Not taking any imaging studies whatsoever to investigate ovarian cysts, ruptured ovary, torsion, and most importantly, ectopic pregnancy, which can be FATAL if left untreated, is not "optimal care". This is wholly irresponsible and willfully negligent to discharge a patient with zero studies taken, and an attempt to sedate them with IV drugs that are above and beyond the strength required to manage pain. Having to drive to another hospital for diagnostics is not "optimal care". In less than an hour at [redacted] Medical Center, multiple complex ovarian cysts were seen bilaterally in a CT, along with blood work to draw CA-125 and HGC serum as a full workup to rule out any further abnormalities. That is "optimal care". If it is somehow not yet apparent, I am well educated in the field of medicine and will not accept that I received "optimal care," as I received, in fact, no care. I continue to decline responsibility for the two above-referenced co-payments as I received no care, and due to what was found by MMC, Wing Memorial was willfully negligent in my care by not following workup protocol.Final Business Response As a gesture of good will, we have instructed our [redacted] Department to waive the two co-pays in question. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I do not accept a response that addresses nothing within the complaint. All responses have been "because we said so" with absolutely no facts or data behind it. I have furnished proof that I was not treated. If this is still denied with no factual reasoning, as it doesn't exist, my attorney will be made aware of this, as he more than likely should be along with the attorney general. This hospital hands out inappropriate medications and was willfully negligent in screening for basic emergency conditions as described in Response 1.
