Called claiming they were going to get into my system to help me understand the problemsAsked for ip addresses

This company scammed me out of $2000.00. Said I was helping catch hackers tricked me into using my money for the so called trap that was a scsm.

This looks like a fraud company. Complete bogus information. Rep who called said they are part of Microsoft and thats why they have my home number.

Got a good service to my personal laptop on time. The response and support made me to recommend these guys to my colleagues too.

Called claiming they were going to get into my system to help me understand the problems. Asked for ip addresses.

The company called me repeatedly Saturday, Dec. 3. They ran my computer, got me to agree to 5 year program. He would not take a credit card so I gave him all check information! I told them money would not be there til Monday. Mark will call Monday afternoon to verify check numbers! Should I call bank and stop check when they open? Help!

I just received a call from this so-called company telling me that I have a virus on my computer. He had me power up my pc from a download. I asked what download it was, which he did not answer. He instructed me to hold down the windows button, then press the "R" button which I did. A small window popped up that read, "Type the name of a program, folder, document, or Internet resource, and Windows will open it for you." He instructed me to type, "eventvwr" into the box, then told me to click the "OK" button. I typed it in, but did not click OK. Instead, I said, "I don't know who the hell you are or where you are calling from" I asked his name and after several times trying to understand due to his foreign accent, I got "Steve", and the company name he spelled out, "Win mac Solutions." I asked for the phone number and told him that I will check them out 1st and call him back. The phone # he gave me is (877) 822-7077.

There are other details that I have left out like something about his supervisor, "Mark" and that he was going to call me back, which Steve did a few minutes after after we hung up.

That brings me to this point, looking for information about this said "company" and commenting here. I figured this was a scam from the beginning because I never tried to contact anyone with issues on my pc, although I do have some, but my laptop is way outdated and I have no intention of spending time and money to update it.

Thank everyone who wrote reviews in regards to this, I just needed a little re-assurance.

These guys called telling me I had malware on my cpu and they could fix it.. When I questioned him about the company he hung up on me.. Then I called back and got cussed out and told that he will rape and kill my mother and father. My father has passed 15 years ago, so that is another level of disturbing. How in the xxx is this place in business? These guys should be deported and not allowed back into the US at a minimum, significant jail time sounds better.

Review: I have repeatedly warned this company against calling my phone and yet they continue to call. My number is on a do not call registry for a reason... I have received daily phone calls from this company and want them to stop or pay me each time they call my houseDesired Settlement: I want this company to STOP CALLING MY HOME PHONE

Review: I have received to date two calls from this company, although it has never officially provided me with its name. The first call representative identified himself as a Windows Technical Service organization for Microsoft and the second caller identified himself as a Technical Service arm of Microsoft. Like one other complainant, he indicated that our home computer had sent certain information to them indicating that our computer was infected with a virus/malware. Not only was what they two said false, their advertising (if you can call it that) is very misleading and could entrap the unwary or unassuming elderly.Desired Settlement: This business should change its own advertising policies and avoid engaging in deceptive business practices.

Review: Winmac solutions called me on 5/8/15 and told me they were concerned about my computer and they needed to access it so they sent me an email with a link. I clicked on the link and they then told me I had over 700 errors that needed to be fixed. They needed access so they had me let them remotely login and they installed a program and charged me $325.95 for 5 years of support. I did not need this after speaking with my daughter because the laptop is brand new ( 1 month old) and there were no issues prior to this phone call. When I tried to call them to ask why they had scammed me there was only a generic message to voicemail not associated with their company. [redacted] I want my money back.Desired Settlement: I want my money back and them to cease and desist. Do not contact me again other than to refund my money.

Review: Today I received a call from a private number listed as "888-4". Upon answering I was told that the company was Microsoft and the gentleman on the phone was from their security department. That they were receiving messages from my Microsoft computer that there was a serious threat. He said if I went online I could download their software to scan the system and depending on how severe my issue it could be free or cost money to fix.

I asked more questions of this man, because it did not sound legitimate. Admittedly he was foreign, English as a second language was evident. He claimed to be in Atlantic City, NJ and that he worked with Microsoft. When I asked more specific who his company was he stated it was WinMac Solutions. This was after I offered up the fact that I do not own a Microsoft computer that I own a Mac. He said, "oh we do both" - which led me to ask, "Do you really work for Microsoft". To which he replied "No, we are partners".

I then asked to speak to a supervisor, he said he was the supervisor. I asked for more details about his company, and who I could speak to about this call because the nature of what he asked me to do infringes on being illegal. Representing yourself as a company that is Microsoft is not ethical.

There are many other ways to get someone to become a customer than an unsolicited cold call misrepresenting your services and company name.Desired Settlement: To have this company stop calling customers pretending to be a company they are not. To stop misrepresenting their services and actually ask if they need IT services. Pretending that my computer isn't working and is sending notices is not correct and should be remedied immediately.

Review: They called me and told me they were the technical support from Windows and that my computer had been infected with viruses and was spreading the viruses out through the internet to other computers. They supposedly had been getting message alerts from my computer. He gave me a long number and told me that it was my registration number for Windows. He had me pull up a page on my computer that had that number and showed me where error messages were listed on my computer. I believed that he was who he said he was. He had me to release my computer access to him so that he could move my mouse to show me more. Then he would not give me access back until I agreed to pay $249.95 for a service to clean up my files. He told me I would never have access to my computer again if I did not purchase their product. He shut my computer down right in front of me until I gave him my credit card number. I have since canceled my card in hopes that the charge will not go through. I had a Dell technician check my computer and remove the software they installed. They scammed me and I am so ashamed of myself for falling for it. I hope my complaint can help alert others to these scammers. And, by the way, they told me they had an "A" with the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: If the credit card charge goes through, I want reimbursement. Otherwise, I want no more contact from winmacsolutions.com. I want my complaint to be in your database.
