Review: On 3/**/14 I drop my 2003 Ford Expedition off to Winston repairs. The repairs was to total $3449.09 this also the amount sent to my insurance company [redacted] cut a check for misc repairs directly to Winston in the amount of $770.05. On or about Mar ** I went to shop to check on truck. I notice the repairs was NOT done to my satisfaction also they needed to adjust the passenger front door from repairs in 2013 that was Unsatisfactory. The Owner stated I could come back on Sat March **however within that time my wife became sick in Minnesota so flew to be with her. We did not return to NY until March **. I contacted the shop and told them I would be in Monday Mar **to pick up truck. I went in on the **with $2540 in cash. At that time yes I was short $139.00 I told the owner and asked if he would accept a check for the balance he said NO and stated the balance was $389. I asked WHY and he stated that he felt like I was TRYING to get over on him by NOT coming to get the truck on Mar **therefore he attached $250 from a balance he stated I had with him from early 2013 when he repaired the passenger door. I was taken by his attitude with me which was UNPROFESSIONAL because I have dealt with him in the past and for him to literally hold my truck HOSTAGE until I pay the $389. These repairs DO NOT have anything to do with repairs from 2013 and I feel this this is Very unethical to do business in this matter. This is the reason for my complaint against Winston Repairs....Desired Settlement: I would like to have my truck back for the True balance of $139. As for the $250 his lost because I was NEVER contacted in reference to this balance for OVER a year and for him out of Pure spitefulness to NOW attach this balance on is Clearly a POOR business practice!!!

On March [redacted] 2014 [redacted] dropped off his vehicle for repairs. During the repairs process additional damages where found and the insurance company was contacted. [redacted] visited to shop the day the adjuster came to reinspect the vehicle and was shown the additional damages. The insurance company issued a supplement check to cover the additional damages the repairs were made. [redacted] did express the alignment of the front door thursday March **,2014 and was told the adjustment will be made and were, he was supposed to pick up the truck that day after telling us he will be back. At no time did he express any other concerns on any of the other repairs and appeared to be pleased. After waiting for [redacted] until 7pm the shop was closed after waiting for and a hour after regular business our for him to not show up. Friday the [redacted]we were able to get in contact with him he did explain that he ran into a few problem and wouldn't be able to pick up his truck until Monday March **. Upon arrival [redacted] explained that his wife had spent some of the insurance money and he didn't have it all but wanted to give me a personal check. As a policy we do not accept personal checks only bank certified checks. I explained to him that he could go cash the check and just bring the money back and he can have his vehicle. He refused to do that so it did come across as if [redacted] wanted to give us a bad check in order to collect his vehicle. The total of his bill was $3949.09 the insurance company issued (2) check the first one directly to [redacted] for $2679.04 and a supplement check for $770.05 leaving a balance off $500 which is the deductible that the customer is responsible for paying. To date [redacted] have only given us $2540. We only asked that he paid $250 of his deductible as a thank you for being a returning customer, leaving a balance due of $389. I hope this explanation with the attached estimate c lears up these false accusation made by someone who doesn't want to pay their bill.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved

After contacting the Revdex.com Winston Repairs NOW want to charge me storage fees at $50 a day unless I contact the Revdex.com to Drop the complaint. This was told to me by the Owner of Winston Repairs... In response to Winston answer I am NOT refusing to pay my bill I just want to pay what I owe and NOT have the reasons I owe MORE change on a day to day basis. According to Winston OWN itemized bill that they attached the Total cost due was $3449.. It is Clearly noted on Winston paperwork that $500 was adjusted OFF which was the deductible amount Now the addition $250 is Half the deductible according to Winston Repairs answer, Which one is it for the Extra $250? Half the deductible OR for repairs from Last year??

As this issue continues the reason for the $250 Continues to change?? I just want to pay $139 and recieve my truck back!!! THANK YOU

This issue have been resolved, [redacted] came to pick up his truck, is satisfied with the repairs and signed off on any further actions against Winston Repairs Inc. as of April [redacted], 2014. He was not charged any storage or any other additional fees and only had to pay his original balance of $389. There was a misunderstanding of what is a deductible.

An insurance deductible is what the insured person must pay before the insurance company pays anything. If you have an auto deductible of $500, then you must pay $500 out-of-pocket before your auto insurance will pay for anything.

In this case we only collected half of the deductible as a thank you for being a returning customer.

Yes, I did pick up my truck and Paid the $389 without storage fees because the truck was picked up Immediately!!! I Know what a deductible is and I Know what was TOLD to me on the beginning of this issue and the explanation for the $250 CHANGED Twice!!!!

Yes, I'm satisfied with the repairs that was Never the issue because I Was a repeat customer, my problem once again was with the Total cost OWED... End to it all I will Always get the bottom figure that I owe in writing and take my business elsewhere. As a consumer I advise ALL consumers to get EVERYTHING in writing!!!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.
