I bought a new PC and a new subscription of [redacted] from [redacted] on Friday 4th December. I tried to set up the PC on Friday evening. When entering the 25 digit code on the back of the card a pop up came on screen advising if I was having problems installing the [redacted] to contact 0800 048 8477. I did and although there was no answer I received a call back from [redacted] a Technician at Winsurf Technology.He advised me that my new PC was already infected by a worm virus and that I needed to first get protection for my PC as well as my network and that the [redacted] 30 day protection that was pre loaded on my PC was not sufficient for protection.As I was keen on getting my PC up and running I was duped into buying lifetime protection for PC and Network for 15 years. at a cost of $499.99 for PC and $499.99 for Network!!The first payment came off on Friday evening and I was told that the 2nd payment would come off my account the next day.The Technician took over my PC changed my password for Windows to [redacted] which I have now changed again this convinced me that they were a legit company!!They then worked on my new PC and said for me to relax as they would download their software and clean my PC and then down load my Office 365.They did the same on my old PC which they said had infected my new PC!The next morning I realised that I had paid more for the protection from Winsurf technology than I had for the new PC!! I googled Winsurf Technology and was horrified to see that I had been scammed and the exact same as had happened to me was shown as a youtube video!!I also contacted a computer expert who told me that the software downloaded was actually free software! Windows defender and a disc clean.I did get a call back from Winsurf Technology yesterday (Sunday) and asked for a refund as I thought I had been scammed by them and they said they would refer my call to their accounts I was told that I would hear back from them within 8 to 10 hours! No Call!!Product_Or_Service: 15 year PC and network protectionDesired SettlementRefund and assurance that no further funds be removed from my account.

After contracting for computer repair services, this company has destroyed my laptop. It is now inoperative. Several attempts to correct a small problem with a wireless printer resulted in hours of remote take-over and little result. Phone calls were disconnected with no return call; background noise made it extremely difficult to hear and understand the instructions. The promises made by the technicians never materialized.Canon Company referred me to this company. I have contacted them and registered a complaint also.Desired SettlementSince my laptop is now junk and I have purchased a new one, I doubt that they will replace it. A refund of the $449 would be appropriate.Business Response Customer subscribed with us back in December 2014 and all the issues were taken care of.Customer called in March 2015 stating that having issue with a program he was trying to use.Customer trying to download and insert the pictures from internet to powerpoint.Technician assigned guided and educated regarding the same.Issue Resolved and closed with customer approval.Customer again called back few days later stating that having issue as computer shutting down while working.Technician identified that installation of manufacturers daily system updates not complete.Updated the system and closed the case with customer approval after testing the computer.Later we received an email from Revdex.com regarding the complaint filed.Customer never contacted the Billing Team for any kind of Refund.Although we have fixed the issues several times for the customer but as we believe in customer satisfaction we have raised the request for the complete refund for the customer after discussing the case with the customer.We are still waiting for the customer response as customer have to provide us the details to complete the refund as we do not keep this information on records to protect customer information.We have sent several emails to the customer and still waiting on the response as unable to reach the customer on phone.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Winsurf has done nothing but promise a refund. A form was supposed to be sent by email. Nothing has arrived. Five attempts to call them has resulted in one additional promise and four resulting in them hanging up!!Final Consumer Response Still no contact from Winsurf. As you can see, this company will lie and lie in order to stall any resolution.Final Business Response As per last response it was informed that customer is not getting in touch with us after multiple emails and phone calls to provide the refund and was waiting from Revdex.com for further instructions. As per the last response from Revdex.com, customer response was pending.For customer security we do not keep the account details as per our policy and are willing to refund the customer if not happy. But unless customer gets in touch or respond to our emails how can we process the refund.

I called Winsurf Technologies for service on Thursday Feb 4, 2016 and was told I was to get a refund for past service because there company was having problems and the resolution to compensate the customer was to refund their money collected in the last year. My bill had been $949.90. In trying to do so I had to send them an Western Union money order for $1014 and they would put $2200 in my [redacted] account which was to be deposited in my credit card account associated with that account. I have since been harassed with phone calls. Of course when I checked no money had been deposited. On Friday Feb 5 I started receiving phone calls both cell and home phone calls from the Revdex.com (so they said).I mistakenly answered one call from someone saying they were Officer Brown and knew that the Winsurf Technologies was vandalized and because of their bad business practices their license was taken away but I would eventually get my money but they needed to get on my computer to see that it was not compromised in any way. I wrote down the number so as not to answer that call again. I received at least 8 calls on Friday Feb 5, 2016 both cell calls and home phone calls. All from unidentified callers, leaving no message and all shortly after one another. Today Feb. 8 I have receivedat least 8 more calls. Once today a message was left about calling backbecause they urgently needed to talk to me about the computer problem.. I am out $1014 and don't expect to recover it but I also do not want to talk to that company again about any ideas to help me with computer problems.Desired SettlementI would like it known that this business conducts bad business practices and harasses customers. In the beginning of our conversation about servicing my computer on Feb 4 they were insisting that I should claim my money paid for service in the past year and then after letting them control my computer remotely to check for viruses I felt I was stuck with following through although the further into it I got I felt I was being scammed.. and I would never see my money.. $1014 Business Response Customer was registered with us on November 2014 for a one time fix support and since then we had not received any call from the customer. we have informed all our customers that they are getting spam calls and he has been scammed by someone even we dont know as we do not subscribe our customers through [redacted] or western union.Customer has been scammed by someone and we do not have any clue towards it.
