Winter's Mini Storage Reviews (1)

Review: A couple of weeks ago I started calling and visiting storage facilities comparing prices and units. I spoke with three different people, 4 different times, both in person and on the phone, at Winter's Storage on Washington Avenue about a climate controlled unit. All the times that I spoke with anyone there including the manager "[redacted]" I was quoted a price of $169.00 for a 10x30 climate controlled storage unit (or what would equal a 10x30). I even talked at length with "[redacted]" discussing the price asking if they would match the price of [redacted] Storage's climate controlled 10x30 for $144.00 dollars a month(with one month free) since I would be renting longterm (one to two years). Thursday May 16th, I went one last time to see the actual units that were opening up and one of the other ladies that works there showed me the unit, quoting the same price. It was only after I had decided that I wanted those units that the price went up to $230.00. This was quoted to me by "[redacted]" over the phone later that day. I told [redacted] I wanted to speak to someone above her about the issue, but I have never received a call from anyone. she said she sent an email to her boss, but that he was an important man and couldn't be bothered with this. She was very rude and non-responsive to any questions you asked her. She even mad a rude comment about her co-worker saying something inappropriate about why the coworker would have quoted the wrong price (medication). Of course, she gave no reason why she did. This has just been very frustrating. I doubt that she really even contacted her boss. It has been a week and a day and not one phone callDesired Settlement: I would like the climate controlled storage unit for the price that they quoted me of $169.00, and one month free.

Yes, I rented one the first time I spoke with one of the ladies at Winters. I explained to her that for right now I wanted to just get a little unit to start moving boxes and things that were already packed to get them out of the way. I let her know that as of July 1 I would need a larger one for all of my furniture. I am moving back in with my parents to save money for a house, and all I will be bringing with me to their house is my bedroom furniture. I explained that I would need a 10 by 30 eventually and would be getting rid of the small one I was going to rent today. So I did rent a smalll one to start out. I you have any other questions, feel free to call me at ###-###-####. All of my information is correct except for the Mr. It should say Ms.[redacted]. Thanks, [redacted]

This lady has been very difficult to work with, [redacted] did request I call her. I have been traveling quite often and been out of town. The lady was not sure if she wanted climate control or non climate. The price quoted, $169 was for NON CLIMATE and this was explained to her. Please, if she thinks the price at a substandard facility can be compared to ours please let her rent at [redacted]. She does not want to do that since their service levels and property protection intiatives are no where near ours. I am sorry this woman, does not like our pricing and only hears the part of the conversation she wants to hear. She is not required to rent from us. I will tell you that you can call any of the reputable facilities in town and they will not give her what she is asking for for "her" price.

Response:

When I originally rented a small unit at Winter’s Mini Storage, it was climate controlled. I let them know that I would need a larger climate controlled unit starting July 2, 2013. There was never a question as to whether or not I wanted climate controlled, I only ever expressed interest in climate controlled units. Once again, Winter’s owner is clueless. I I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that he has the type of people he has representing his company to the public. Sounds like he behaves the same way the supervisor of his business does. Next time I will only go with a business that is Revdex.com approved. This is what you get when you don’t. [redacted] storage is a breath of fresh air compared to Winter’s Mini Storage. Having rented from both I am finding that Winter’s has proven itself to be a substandard storage facility. Regards,[redacted]
