I have not received a refund nor has the contractor contacted meHe has received and signed a certified letter formally notifying him of my address and request for refund and deadline of Nov15th to receive it or I will pursue legal action

Review: [redacted] and I entered into a written contract for him to replace my my existing exterior steps. I gave him a down payment of $1,866.00 [ check # [redacted] ]. He was to start the job on September 5, 2012. He later changed the date to November 26, 2012. He did not show up on that date nor did he contact me. I began trying to contact him leaving messages at both of the phone numbers he had written on the contract. I was never able to reach him. Finally, he responded to me on Wednesday January 23, 2013. At that time he said he had not been able to do the job because he had been sick. He also stated he had sent me a check for the deposit I gave him. When I said I never received a check from him, he said he would have to check with his bank to see who cashed the check. However, he promised me another check for the $1,866.00 and said I would receive it by February 1 ,2013. I waited until February 6, 2013.

When the check did not come, I wrote [redacted] a letter on February 6,. 2013 pursuant to to our telephone conversation asking that he send me a check for the $ 1,866.00 he owes me within ten days of the date of my letter. As of today's date, [ Friday February 22, 2013 I have not received the promised check. [ The green card which has been returned to me was signed on February 7th so, I know my letter was delivered. ] "Desired Settlement: I would like [redacted] to send me a check in the amount of $ 1,866.00 with proof of mailing post hast.

Review: We enetered into contract with [redacted] (Wise General Contractors [redacted]) on 1/26/13 for home improvement construction of bedroom closets. We made a down payment of $1,156.00 equal to one third of the "quoted" total cost of $3,470.00. Work was supposed to commence on February 12, 2013. [redacted] never showed or called. After a series of repeated phone call attempts, when [redacted] would respond, he always had an excuse and would propose another date promising he would show. My partner, [redacted] lost two days of work waiting on [redacted] to start the project. On March 2, 2013 we mailed a certified letter to [redacted] giving him 7 days to resolve the default to which he never responded. On March 12, 2013 we mailed a certified letter terminating the contract for failure to respond or honor said contract.
