I also sent an e-mail to this winery - they send me ads all the time. 10-4-14 I resolved the problem with the waitress. They rang (or put through) computer & redid the bill that said they always offered a tip on wine purchased in addition to food - but they did not explain this when they brought...

Also "mistakes" in ordering noted but since we were a group the person who ordered the individual platter of appetizers got the $34 "group" platter - decided to share in turn in bill to next group meeting - this was a group event. No one likes to (have to) complaint in a large group place like this but I wanted them to know I had turned them in - I still purchased the 5 bottles of expensive wine because I wanted to give my son a nice Christmas present. Hope they change their ways. It's a great winery.

I don't know what number I am in the count of victims so far, but this is but one of two places I've ever left a review on entirely based on service. I have myself to blame in part as I read the reviews in advance and there was great reviews for those who were served and then horrible reviews for those who had trouble getting served.

For me the cost was my 6th anniversary.

Know that this review is entirely based on service and not on their food or wine, though I'll quickly caution you to know that no matter how good the food and wine is it's worth nothing if you never taste it.

Me and my wife made phone reservations 5 days before a scheduled event, schedule by them, which we purchased a ticket for through their general manager. We provided them our names and contact information, which they ask for in case anything changes (we find this out when we arrive though). We drove from Sacramento to their vineyard in Lincoln, which with traffic is well over an hour round trip.

When we get there they tell us that they cancelled the event and have contacted everyone to let them know... though, they didn't contact us of course. It sounded like this was their 2nd recent cancellation of an event and I strangely felt that this had been happening a lot recently.

They offered to switch us to another event 2 months later, but we weren't very interested. This will definitely be our first and last trip to their vineyard.

What's worse, is they realized we were never contacted and informed even though all our contact information was in their system - they had a private event happening in place of the one that got cancelled... so basically they could still serve us, but we weren't important enough customers at that point.

From the look of things on Yelp the business seems to be very poorly managed when it comes to taking care of customers. Shame, it sounds like they server delicious food and beverages, but have a general manager who fails to simply manage.

In summary, if you love taking risks where you stand to lose more than you stand to gain or if you simply don't value your time, then you may be in for a surprise treat.

Review: I went on a very good wine tour at Wise Villa Winery 4200 Wine Road, Lincoln, CA 95648 Phone 916-543-0375.

I purchased several bottles of wine from a list they provided us while we ate our lunch in their facility. My daughter and I were part of a group of 10 - 15 people and we had separate checks. The waitress explained we would have one bill (separate) for food & wine. Not other "explanation"

Well, using credit card & checked - $50 tip - (excuse me!) Granted my lunch was smaller than some, about $15. My complaint was that the waitress explained that all purchases were rung together - food and the retail bottles of wine if one paid with credit card. Long story short - she re-did the bill.

I always tip 20% which I did for the two of us - daughter and self plus a person who left the group early and paid us cash for her meal.Desired Settlement: I still think this is a shady practice - a person not checking the bill (& later credit card doesn't sort out tips on statements, RESET YOUR COMPUTER- WISE WINERY
