We have received the Revdex.com complaint and are willing to assist as best as possible.  Mr. [redacted] came into our store requesting an oil change on his vehicle.  Upon removing the drain plug for the oil pan we noticed that the threads in the oil pain were stripped and the oil drain plug...

would leak if reused. We explained the situation to Mr. [redacted] and he told us that his last oil change was performed at our shop.  We have searched our records and have no history of his vehicle being serviced here prior to his visit on April 02, 2015.  We purchased an oversized drain plug, installed it to try and avoid replacing the oil pan.  At that time the oil pan did not leak.  Mr. [redacted] was explained that if there were anymore issues with the oil drain plug that new oil pan would be needed.
Included I have an invoice signed by Mr. [redacted] that explains the issue.  We would be happy to install a used oil pan at a discounted price to help resolve this issue, but we do not feel culpable for that expense as we do not appear to be the last service center to do his oil change prior to us removing the oil drain plug on April 02,2015.  Please reply to us if Mr. [redacted] would like an estimate to replace his oil pan.
Sincerely,
Bobby K[redacted]

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
The response from this business is full of inaccuracies.  When I initially called the business to order the tires, the manager was well aware that the front and back tires were two different sizes.  He quoted a price for the 2 front tires and a price for the two back tires.  He told me to call back the next day to verify that he would have them in stock.  When I called the next day, I asked him to verify the price AGAIN, which he did.  He was also well aware of the sale that they had going on, which was buy 3 tires and get the 4th tire free.  When I arrived at the shop,  I looked at the tires and was ready to pay so they could do the work.  While I was standing at the register he quoted a price which was HUNDREDS of dollars more than the original quote given to me.  A quote that was given to me not once, but twice.  So, I asked him about the discrepancy in the price and he said, "Oh well, I must have made a mistake".  I said twice!  I told him that I had spoken with him twice and he quote me a price (the same price) two times.  I told him I couldn't understand why it was HUNDREDS of dollars more.  He then said "If I didn't like it, I could go somewhere else".  I asked him is that the way they treat customers?  I turned around and walked out.  He NEVER offered to sell me the tires at wholesale cost.  And, nobody threatened him or his staff.  Seriously!  Nor did I tear up any business cards or threaten to deface anyone on social media. Like many people,  I did put my issue/complaint online and found NUMEROUS other complaints (regarding this same business) similar to mine, where customers were quoted one price on the phone and then told another price once they get to the shop.  So, obviously this is not an isolated incident or the first time this business has done this.  Apparently, they have a history of doing this.
We have 3 cars in our family.  We were hoping this was going to be a reputable and professional business to service our vehicles for years to come.  But, there is no way that my family would take their cars there now.  As a mater of fact, we were fortunate enough to find another establishment (also close to our home) which provided outstanding,  courteous and professional service.  In fact, I'm actually going to write a letter of praise regarding the other company.

[redacted]

Thanks so much for speaking with me on the phone today.  I am going to summarize below what happened and what our resolution is (or was).

We quoted the gentleman a price for 4 tires over the phone.  We have been running a buy 3, get the 4th free tire sale for several months.  Effectively, buy 3 and get 1 free is the same as 25% off.  In his case, his vehicle has 2 different tire sizes, so instead of quoting him the "lesser tire" free, we quoted him the tires at 25% off of retail price on each tire, which theoretically would be a better deal than the buy 3 get 1 free.  The mistake arose when we, based on typical habits when quoting over the phone, changed the quantity to 3 while also reducing the price by 25%.  On the morning that these folks showed up here, I opened the quote and found the mistake that had been made.  I explained the mistake which was not well-received.   I even offered to sell them the 4 tires at our wholesale cost just to find a happy medium.  These folks made a scene in our lobby which included threatening members of the staff, tearing up our business cards and sprinkling them around, and insisting that they would deface us on social media.  We are responsible for this inconvenience but I do not believe that anyone of our staff or our lobby full of customers deserved to be subjected to the reactions of these folks.  We are still willing to take any suggestions that the Revdex.com might offer in terms of a resolution.

Thanks so much for your time today.

Kind Regards,

Review: The vehicle was taken in for an oil change and then I was told I need a lower oil pan. During the oil change by the trained technician, the oil pan threads/hole was destroyed. I was told several hypotheticals of why Wiygul is not liable, and I am. I was also treated unprofessionally, rude, and degrading.I was told the bolt head was the wrong size (too big), and that the bolt was not in flush. My response was; the head size of the bolt has nothing to do with the size of the diameter of the hole, and that it is impossible to put a 16mm in a 13mm hole. And if it wasn't in flush, which would be visible to a trained technician, he should have not proceeded with the oil change without making me aware that removing it will destroy the hole and that I would be liable for damages. I have asked them if their hypotheticals are true, why wasn't their any metal shavings on the bolt; it was perfect. After all, the technician put the same bolt that they claim was too big into the same stripped hole. Leaving my daughter to drive a vehicle that is dangerous to be on the road.Desired Settlement: I want Wiygul to replace the lower oil pan at their expense before damage is caused to the engine and/or oil leaking on the road causing a hazardous situation.

Review: I am writing to submit a complaint against Wiygul Automotive Clinic of [redacted], VA. Several months ago I incurred repairs amounting to $1,283.18. I had originally brought my car in and they replaced my clutch for $960.43. Shortly after the repairs were made my car started experiencing more problems, so I returned the car thinking it would be covered under their warranty. They claimed it was a problem not relating to their prior servicing and charged me $322.75. I expressed my frustration that I was being charged anything but decided not to waste my time continuing to argue with him. After experiencing problems again with my car, and not receiving a timely response to my email, I took my car to an independent third party mechanic to place my car back into a safe, drivable state, which cost me an additional $695.55.

It turns out that the ground wire had been disconnected. I have a letter from the independent mechanic certifying that, given the difficult to reach location of the ground wire, it is likely that someone had been around that area prior to their inspections—Wiygul had forgotten to reconnect the ground wire when they made the clutch replacement. Their mistake caused me to incur an additional $1,018.30 of unnecessary repairs to my vehicle, not to mention countless hours of lost productivity and frustration. They publicly claim to warranty their services. If this was the case, the $322.75 should have fallen under the original warranty; I would not have needed to seek an honest mechanic and would not have incurred an additional $695.55.

To date, they have not offered to compensate me for any of the amounts I incurred that were the result of their error and should have been covered under their warranty. I have tried to recover some of my losses through the credit card dispute process, but so far, they have continued to fight me every step of the way. I have attached the lengthy documentation I provided the credit card company. This includes all emails, receipts and photographic evidence. Right now, we are in the pre-arbitration step of the process. If I am unable to recover my losses through this process, I have asked that the VA Attorney General’s office open an investigation into Wiygul Automotive Clinic of [redacted], VA and seek potential civil and criminal penalties for possible violations of Virginia law and Federal Statutes. Attached you will find the letter that I submitted to them.

I am asking for the Revdex.com’s assistance in helping me achieve closure on this extremely frustrating experience with Wiygul. They currently have an A+ rating from you, which I currently believe to be very suspect. I believe this case constitutes false advertising and a failure to honor their warranty.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a full refund of all monies paid to Wiygul amounting to $1,283.18. An apology and taking some responsibility for their faulty workmanship would be a nice bonus as well.

Review: Deceitful business practices at a franchise using the [redacted] name located at [redacted], VA [redacted]. Overcharging. Unprofessional.

[redacted] shop in [redacted], VA is overcharging for tires. Pressuring people to have unnecessary and expensive work done on vehicles. My car came up missing on my first trip to this location. Second trip my car was dumped in a muddy grass lot outside the parking lot. Was quoted one price for work and charged more. My complaint against the [redacted] corporation that is allowing this shop to operate under it's name is being forwarded to the Virginia Attorney General's office. [redacted] and [redacted]+ provide countless confirmations that overcharging and unnecessary work suggestions are normal business practice at this location.Desired Settlement: Refund.

Review: I took my car in for service to have it checked out for my road trip. They found that I need to basically have everything on my front changed. I had new struts, sway bars, tire rods and both front and back brakes and rotors changed. Everything seemed fine when I left. While driving home I notice that there was a wobble in the front when I turned and the wheel was coming back. I took it back next morning and reported the problem. They then told me that I needed new tires I purchased two new tires and drove with the tech we made two left turns and it seemed fine again. I drove to work on long highway and began to feel the wobble and now I am hearing a humming sound I called and took back same day. They said they were going to look at it and see if they could firuger it out. They then told me I needed two new wheel bearing for the front I couldn't leave it that day so I took it back the next day I was told it was going to take two hours for them to fix it. I said ok. Well they called me at about 1200 and said that it was going to take longer and it would not be ready until after 7 I needed to pick up my child and said I couldn't do that so the manager [redacted] said to bring back on monday (today) so I brought my car back at 730 AM and they had someone take me home. I called to check on my car around 1230 and was told it was still being worked on. I walked to the service place to see what was going on and my car was just sitting on the jack tires still on and no now working on it. I went inside and spoke with the [redacted] and asked what is going on with my car he said they are still working on it so I asked who and how long he said not for a while I asked if they had fixed my bearings and he said no they my car had been at the shop for seven hours at this point so I wanted my car back. I still have a wobble and nothing was done to my car at all.Desired Settlement: I would like half my money back because now I have to take it to another shop to have it. I bought two new tires because they said that would if it and then I wasted countless hours waiting on them when they just had my car sitting. The wobble is a problem that they created.

If you are referring to the below complaint from consumer [redacted], there are a couple of ways to proceed.

Review: Took vehicle in for oil change and tire rotation. They claimed we needed new brakes and in fact told my fiance that we only had about a week left on them and worked up a quote for $346. We declined. They claimed we needed a new air filter. We declined. Upon leaving the service center our vehicle was making a funny vrooming sound that it had never made before. We took it back and asked what they did. One of they younger techs drove the car in the parking lot and claimed he didn't hear anything. My fiance then drove with him and he said "oh, that sound. We didn't do that, we just changed the oil."My car was not making the noise before it was brought in and now it does. They were adamant that they didn't do anything. They rechecked to make sure that they had put everything back ok and said that they did. The younger tech then came out and said we had a leak in our manifold but they didn't do that work there. Then the older tech came out and said that there was a leak and would we like them to work up an estimate. We left and went straight to the [redacted] dealer.Outcome: they had not replaced the top on the air filter box properly causing the engine to take in too much air. The brakes were fine and have several months left on them. The air filter is fine since it was just replaced a month ago. The manifold is fine and there are no leaks. We lost two hubcaps on the freeway due to them not placing them back on the wheels properly after the rotation and now have to replace those. We would have lost a third if we hadn't stopped and fixed them ourselves. I feel as though they were trying to create a situation to increase their revenue even where there was no problem.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the oil change ($20.08). I would like a complimentary oil change at the [redacted] location so that I can know that at least it is done properly as I have no way of verifying that they actually changed it or used synthetic oil. I would like the cost of replacing the hubcaps through the dealer ($88 plus tax each). I would them investigated for unethical practices and price gouging.

Review: I took my car to Wygul to have my oil changed and safety re-inspection performed on 3/15/2014. I received a call from [redacted] that during the safety inspection the mechanic noticed that there was a leak in my left brake line. It would cost a little over $200 to have the line replaced and the system flushed out - he highly recommended that I do both brake lines, which would cost over $400. I decided to take my car to another service station for a second opinion. I took it to [redacted] Service Station on 3/17/2014. I told them that Wygul stated that there was a leak in my left brake line - I asked them to confirm, then give me an estimate of how much it would cost to repair. According to [redacted] Auto Service, there is not a leak in my left brake line. Auto [redacted] Service charge me $48 but save me approximately $150. I have the estimate from Wygul and the bill of sale from [redacted] Auto ServiceDesired Settlement: One of the two stations is not being honest. I believe it is Wygul. And since I only spen $48 because of Wygul's dishonesty I believe the should reimburse me the money I spent at [redacted] Auto Service.
