Womancare P.C. Reviews (1)

I visited Dr [redacted] whom I have been a patient of for several years on 8/3/13. She recently joined this Womans Care practice a few years ago. Since I have been going there for the past 3 years for my annual routine preventive physical each year, I have been very disappointed in the quality of service by the office staff there. I was reluctant to return there this year for this very reason but the Dr is who I return for, she is great. My insurance [redacted] ID # XOFXXXXXXXXX, Group # PXXXXX) allows 100% coverage for a routine preventive exam through my gynecologist each year. This year during my visit, the Dr suggested I have a full blood panel done to verify my hormonal levels, estrogen, thyroid, chlorestoral, etc. Before I inform you of the miscoding, I want to provide you some history of the substandard customer service I have received this year by the office staff there.1.My requested address change was not performed for the bill arrived at my old address. The mail was forwarded to me by the new condo owners. 2.Upon leaving the office on 8/3, I was not informed of the change they made regarding requesting an ID # and Password to go online to obtain my test results (pap, blood tests, etc.). I still had old info from last year. I made 2 calls to the office there requesting this new info. Apparently, the first request was typed into their computer system incorrectly. 3.I now received a bill of $77.00 from Womans Care for the blood test lab results. [redacted] applied this to my deductible. I phoned the billing dept at Womans Care and informed them that this had to be re-coded and resubmitted. I was challenged by the biller. I then called back and left a detailed message for the Office Mgr, [redacted] 4.Also, upon leaving the office on 8/3, I reminded them of the particular coding my insurance required. They assured me that all would be done correctly. In the meantime, I phoned [redacted] and verified that all was covered. When [redacted] phoned me back, she insisted on arguing with me on what is routine and what isnt. ?? I visited this office for my routine annual exam and according to [redacted] (whom I phoned again today) they stated that some (every other line on the lab tests) were coded V7231 and the others were not. The others (6 of them) were coded as medical diagnosis. [redacted] was also baffled by this. [redacted] and [redacted] (2 women who I spoke to at [redacted] both instructed me to inform the Billing Dept to recode and re-submit under V7231 being that this was all apart of the annual exam. When I informed [redacted] that Womans Care refused to do this, she stated that [redacted] cannot force or make a provider to do anything. She suggested I contact the Dept of Insurance. I spoke to [redacted] again this afternoon. She continued to argue with me again stating that Insurance Companies will always say to recode and resubmit regardless of the situation. ??? She tried to educate me as to what is routine and what is not. She refused to amend this service with the proper code. I am entitled to this benefit through [redacted] I pay large premiums each month from my payroll for this coverage.
