While WoodForest was cutting timber in the Cumberland County, Va area, they also cut timber that belonged to me, on my land, without my permission.Between Oct 2011 and Oct 2012, WoodForest was contracted by Ruth Simms to cut timber on her property in Cumberland, Va. When the harvesting took place, WoodForest also came onto my property and cleared an estimated 1.5 acres of my timber without my permission. I have validated the property lines with a Surveyor and can provide proof of the trespass. I have attempted to contact [redacted] directly, as well as the WoodForest main office, but none of my calls are being returned.Desired SettlementI am happy to settle this matter with fair, market-based compensation for the stolen timber by WoodForest.Business Response /[redacted]/In response to [redacted]'s comments, [redacted] has a tract that a logger cut back in 2011. This tract is located across the highway from [redacted] tract that is shown on the Cumberland County maps and at no time borders [redacted] property. [redacted] property does in fact border the [redacted] family tract and that timber was harvested at approximately the same time so any questions he has should be referred to the [redacted] family or the logger that cut that property. Wood Forest was not involved with that tract and owns no logging equipment. The logger is responsible at all times and any complaints should be lodged with them. for the tracts they harvest.Consumer Response /[redacted]/The Cumberland County maps are incorrect. My land does indeed border [redacted] property as indicated on the recent survey I attached. Wood Forest was indeed involved in [redacted] tract as I have spoken with her several times. Please look at the attached survey and reconsider your response.Final Business Response /[redacted]/If [redacted] would contact the company at XXX-XXX-XXXX and explain what he would be willing to take for the timber if the maps are incorrect, then Wood Forest will contact the logger and try and work out a satisfactory settlement.Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/I already called the number they listed and Wood Forest has not called me back.

MR. [redacted] IS A LOGGER WHO IS THE CONTRACTOR OF RECORD IN MIDDLESEX COUNTY VA. HE, ACCORDING TO HIM, LET WOODFOREST RESOURCES LLC. USE HIS VA. LICENSE TO CUT TIMBER ON PROPERTY NEXT DOOR TO OUR PROPERTY. WOODFOREST RESOURCES RIBBONED OFF THE PROPERTY AND RIBBONED OFF APPROXIMATELY 1/2 ACRE OF OUR PROPERTY. THEY HIRED [redacted] TO CUT TIMBER AND MR. [redacted] UNKNOWINGLY CUT OUR BOUNDARY LINE TREES AS WELL AS OTHER TREES. WOODFOREST RESOURCES LLC IS OWNED BY A [redacted] AND A [redacted] LOCATED AT [redacted]. I HAVE BEEN IN PHONE CONTACT WITH A [redacted] WHO WORKS FOR WOODFOREST RESOURCES, AND HE ADMITS THEY DID CUT MY TIMBER AND ARE AT FAULT. I HAVE ASKED FOR $5 - 6000.00 TO COMPENSATE FOR OUR LOSSES. THIS AMOUNT WOULD PAY FOR TREES CUT AND GIVE US ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY A CERTIFIED SURVEYOR TO COME IN AND PUT OUR BOUNDARY LINE BACK WITH STEEL RODS AS THE TREES ARE NO LONGER. THIS WAY, WOODFOREST RESOURCES WHO IS THE ACTUAL RESPONSIBLE PARTY WOULD BE RELEASED OF ANY LIABILITY AND WOULD SATISFY ME. I HAVE A PLAT OF RECORD TO GO BY. IT HAS BEEN 3 WEEKS AND HAVE HAD NO SATISFACTION. ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS [redacted] D. [redacted].Product_Or_Service: NONEDesired SettlementPAY AMOUNT OF $5,000.00 IN CERTIFIED FUNDS TO ME SO I MAY GET MY BOUNDARY LINE PUT BACK AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO PLAT OF RECORD.Business Response Mr. [redacted] has contacted Ms. [redacted] and offered to meet with her to discussed the unintentional cutting 0f 20-25 trees across her property line. Wood Forest Resources is offering to have a surveyor go to the property and remark the line in question since Ms. [redacted] states that she has a survey plat. There is no need to pay a surveyor that amount of money to mark her entire property since the line in question is a short portion and that amount is unreasonable for one line. We will compensate her for the loss of those tress at markable value as determined by an independent assessor.Consumer Response MR. [redacted] HAS NOT CONTACTED ME IN THE PAST WEEK AND HAS NOT MET WITH ME AT ALL. WOULD BE NICE TO HEAR FROM THEM TO SEE IF THEY PLAN ON GETTING PROBLEM SOLVED IMMEDIATELY. I CONTACTED HIM 2 WEEKS AGO AND HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM SINCE. WE DID DISCUSS RESOLVING THE PROBLEM AT THAT TIME BY HAVING THEIR SURVEYOR COME OUT AND REPLACE LINES. THAT WOULD BE JUST FINE WITH ME, BUT MAKE SURE HE IS CERTIFIED TO DO THIS, AS THEIR SURVEY RIBBONED OFF WRONG PROPERTY TO BEGIN WITH. AS FOR THE TREES, A REASONABLE OFFER WILL BE ACCEPTED. THE BOUNDARY LINE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT AND WOULD APPRECIATE IT BEING DONE IN A TIMELY MATTER, LIKE WITHIN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS, AT LEAST BY THE BEGINNING OF SEPTEMBER. THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR TIME AND COOPERATION.[redacted] D. [redacted]
