Woodland Tractor & Equipment Reviews (1)

Review: I contacted Woodland Tractor by phone initially and was given a verbal estimate of around $600 to repair the ring gear on my [redacted] tractor. They picked up the tractor and when they brought it back 6 weeks later it had a 8-9 inch diameter of oil underneath it. The driver apologized and said he would return it and repair it again at no charge. I called several times to find out the status of my tractor and each time was told it would be delivered "tomorrow". Weeks went by before it was finally brought back and it had large stickers on each side advertising the business. I then received a bill in the mail for over $2056 with no itemized list of repairs. Then a separate bill for over $979 soon followed! I tried to talk to the manager and was treated very rudely and told that if I did not pay both amounts it would be referred to collections. I felt forced to pay the bill even though I did not agree with it nor understand exactly what I paid for. Their lack of communication and customer service is concerning, but the fact that I was overcharged so much is not acceptable.Desired Settlement: I feel that half of this money needs to be refunded because I did not agree to this amount prior to the repairs being done, and the second issue of the oil leak was the fault of the company and should not have been billed to me at all. It did not leak any oil prior to their work being done. I was happy to pay for the initial repair that was requested and the first pick up and delivery fee, but that is all that I should have paid for.

Response:

It is documented that Mr. [redacted] was fully informed as to the detail and cost of repair of his tractor and approved the repair. Mr. [redacted]'s tractor had other issues unrelated to the initial repair that were noticed by Woodland Tractor's delivery person when the tractor was taken back to him. Woodland Tractor's delivery person told Mr. [redacted] that there would be no cost to the delivery and pick-up of his tractor if he wanted Woodland Tractor to fix the other problem. Mr. [redacted], at his choice, had Woodland Tractor fix the other problem with his tractor. It is true that Mr. [redacted] was sent a statement inadvertently lacking a invoice showing the detail of the repair and one was sent upon notification of such. Mr. [redacted] from that point on, refused to pay for the repair of the tractor he approved to have done claiming that Woodland Tractor's delivery driver told him that the repair would be free. As in most all companies, only management or ownership has the authority to waive major fees, cost, or charges, and to believe or base his case on that a delivery driver has the authority to give away a major repair is not common or reasonable. When addressing Mr. [redacted]'s past due amount owed, he resorted to vicious name calling, vulgarity, accusations of illegal actions, and many other methods attempting to wear down the collection of his past due amount. Mr. [redacted] threatened legal action and he was told to please have his legal council contact Woodland Tractor so that the dispute may be resolved in a calm professional manner. Mr. [redacted] furthermore made an accusation that a unrelated implement was damaged by Woodland Tractor even though the implement was never in Woodland Tractor's possession or attached to any area where Woodland Tractor conducted a repair. It must be noted that Woodland Tractor attempted to appease Mr. [redacted] with an offer of a reduction of the repair amount if he paid the amount immediately, and he refused. Furthermore it must be noted that Woodland Tractor requested to see the implement that was allegedly damaged by Woodland Tractor and he refused.
