[redacted] submitted a claim with us regarding this issue.  Her claim was denied via a letter dated 7/11/17.  An excerpt of the letter is below as to what occurred and why the claim was denied.  If you need anything else please let me know.  Thanks. At the oil change...

that occurred on June 27, 2017 at our Rockford location the hood system, which unknown to Woodman’s employees was in disrepair, the hydraulic system failed to keep the hood open.  When the hood fell shut unexpectedly it landed on the oil gun that was dispensing oil into your vehicle.  The oil gun was pushed into the oil filter tube and the oil filter tube was damaged. Woodman’s is self-insured and therefore we only pay on claims where we are the cause of the problem.  It was the failure of your vehicle’s hood system which led to the damage of your vehicle’s oil fill tube.  As your hood was in disrepair prior to the oil change this would be a pre-existing condition on the vehicle.  Thus, the damage to the oil filter tube was not something caused by Woodman’s.  For this reason, your request for reimbursement has been denied. [redacted]Woodman's Food MarketsPhone: 608 754-8382 Ext. 3343FAX: 608 754-4792

Review: I went into woodmans auto center to get my oil changed, my car did not make it home because my engine blew. The auto shop Weides Auto picked my car up and investigated it. The cause of my engine blowing was because the tech at woodmans failed to tighten my oil plug after services. I was in contact with the manager, [redacted]. He told me I needed to bring a report in so I did, and a rep did come to the shop to look the motor. Ever since then I have not heard back and I have tried to contact [redacted] on multiple occasions. The cost of the repairs were 1100.00 and I feel they need to refund me for their mistake.Desired Settlement: Refund of the motor and oil change totaling 1125.00

Review: I was in Woodman's 5/28/2014 to buy something to eat because they have a large selection of gluten free foods. Found a brand (Glutino) that I really like and decided to get it. I looked at the package to check the expiration date and it was for February 6th of 2014. So I decided to check all of them just to be sure and the rest of them were also past expiration. I looked at other brands as well and they were also past expiration. Some were even for 2013. I was so disgusted. I went to tell an employee and they looked at me like I was crazy and I walked out because I was so frustrated. Also I noticed that most of their products do not have dates on them at all. This isn't the first time this has happened either. I've been telling employees that they need to fix the problem. It's also happened to my family as well which I know have complained to even managers and they haven't fixed their problem yet.Desired Settlement: All I want is for them to replace their expired food with new food. Most people are not like me when I comes looking at food so they could possibly get sick. I would also like their rating on the Revdex.com to go down as well because of this and how no one really seems to care at the store.

Review: Woodman’s Market

Re: Unfair Practices

To the Corporate Management Team:

I was shopping in your Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin location and was amazed with the savings you were offering. I had a small problem with the service. The product in question is Dawn dish soap by Procter and Gamble. This product was marked down for clearance at $.99 per bottle. There was also available a manufacturer’s coupon for $.25 off. The decision to mark down this product was totally a Woodman’s Market decision. The decision to use a manufacturer coupon for the same product is a consumer decision. On this we can both agree.

My concern stems when I am instructed on 8/28/2015 that your policy is NOT to use coupons on marked down products. This decision is not a posted decision near the reduced merchandise nor found ANYWHERE IN THE STORE. To the contrary you have posted on the reduced bins those coupons for a particular product is also available at the courtesy counter. There is NO reason why a manufacturer coupon should not be used if the consumer chooses to do so. Manufacturer coupons ensure the price you are requesting. If the product is $.99 and the manufacturer coupon is $.25 you are charging the consumer $.74 and receiving $.25 from the manufacturer. (Where is the lost in revenue)? There is none. You have honored coupons on reduced products in the past as recently as August 27, 2015, and NOW WE DO NOT HAVE THAT LUXURY!

Your media advertisements make the statement that you pass the savings on to the consumers. This sounds good but I have found this to be a False Statement. I have been a loyal customer since you first arrived in Wisconsin. Now I am very disillusioned and feel that my business is better appreciated elsewhere. You spend hundreds, thousands or maybe millions of dollars on advertising but your BEST advertisement is a happy consumer. I must say you have missed the mark with this one.

On many occasions I have purchased products from your reduced bins and when a manufacturer coupon is offered (and also provided) in your store I have been able to take advantage of the savings.

I must say I was excited when your store opened in my neighborhood but now I will drive further to be treated better. It pains me to say that your practice has severed the ties of a loyal customer. You sold my services for a mere $50.00 dollar purchase. I will pass this decision you have made and also mentioned above, to all my friends, family and co workers. Loyalty should NOT BE A ONE WAY STREET.
