Review: I was sent to this gym when mine closed down. It is a beautiful gym with a lot to offer however the atmosphere is unpleasant. As a previous private gym goer I enjoyed the small setting and friendly atmosphere with no judgment. In this gym I found many "meat heads" who make working out very uncomfortable. After only going to this gym once I noticed one of their personal trainers was videotaping members that were working out incorrectly and making fun of them then posting the videos on social media for everyone to see without the members consent, this made me extremely uncomfortable because I do not want to work out and potentially be made fun of. I reached out to [redacted] and they made the trainer take the videos down but that is where their assistance ended, the trainer was not fired and I was not refunded my money (I paid for 2 years in full) and I have not returned to the gym since because I am extremely uncomfortable there so I have lost out on a great deal of money and was left to contact the corporate office of my previous gym who has also not helped me with this situation.Desired Settlement: I just want the money I put forward to be refunded so I can go to a gym that I feel comfortable at either from this gym or the previous gym that closed

[redacted] purchased her membership from Snap Fitness of [redacted]. Unfortunately, that organization was forced to close their doors. World Gym [redacted] offered to allow the paid in full members from Snap Fitness of [redacted] to come into World Gym for FREE. World Gym [redacted] did not receive any compensation from Snap Fitness of [redacted] for these memberships. We entered into an agreement with Snap Fitness of [redacted] that we would not be responsible for any refunds for their memberships.

We offered to take in all these people for free for two reasons...a community service (where the fitness business would get a bad name for suddenly closing their doors), and perhaps the hope that they might like our club and choose to stay once their membership was up.

Her other area of concern was of her claim that the personal trainer was making fun of a person working out. This was not the case. He made a video from far away of a person working out incorrectly. He put this on his own [redacted] page. He stated that his intent was to educate people on how not to do an exercise. He also said that the person was not recognizable due to the distance he took the picture from. The fitness director (not the owner) found out about this video and asked him to remove it. It was removed within two days.

We are a family club and many of our members are over 50 years of age. We are not an intiminating gym. We welcome back [redacted] . Yes, we are a larger gym but we are certainly not a lunk head gym. We have some large members who work out with heavy weights but that is the minority of our membership. We accepted over 100 of Snap's paid in full members and [redacted] is the only person who has complained.

The trainer who took the video did not take it from a distance the people in the numerous videos can easily be identified (which is illegal without their consent) and the videos were supposed to be taken off [redacted] and I can still see them on his [redacted]. Due to his privacy settings only friends can view the videos so I cannot physically show this unless I let someone on my [redacted] to look at his page. No one else has complained because they do not know it is going on. If I made other members aware of the situation I am POSITIVE I would not be the only one complaining. I understand that they did not accept any money from Snap and this is why I have reached out to Snap's corporate office because I WILL NOT return to this gym I have been assigned to when I have to worry about being videotaped and made fun of. The trainer DID NOT inform people on how to correct their form he was in fact laughing at these people in the videos and there are more than one of the same person as well as a few others of different members. It may have been done as a harmless joke but I am bringing this SERIOUS matter to their attention because if one of the members videotaped were to find out they could easily sue the gym and the trainer because it is ILLEGAL to videotape people without their consent. It is enraging that they are trying to discredit me and make me look like I am making this more than what it is. If I could download the videos it would have been attached but due to [redacted] privacy restraints I cannot. I would gladly let someone on my [redacted] to view these videos since as of last week they were still visible

Review: This company has continued to charge my debit card $45.00 per month even though my contract has been expired since January 2013. I attempted to contact them via email but did not receive a response.Desired Settlement: I would like all charges that were processed after the end of my contract refunded and I do not want to be charged anymore.
