Review: I purchased a promotional package for World Spa.
I attended my "facial visit" which advertised:
In depth skin analysis
Spa facial (30min)
Hydrating mask
Facial massage
Skin Care reommendation
Complimentary beverage
From the time I walked into the door, to the time I paid my 10% non-included gratuity, I elapsed 30min. The professional did a 1 minutate skin analysis, mask and 30 second massage and then left me alone in a room for 10min. End of visit. And no complimentary beverage.
I attended my "hair visit" which advertised:
Hair design consultation
Accent highlight (3-5 foils)
Soothing Scalp Massage
Design cut, shampoo, and style
Color/straightening consultation
Hair care recommendation
Complimentary beverage
I am completely disastified with my service. Total hands on time lasted approximately 10min. My hair design consultation consisted of me saying, "I would like to add some layers to give my hair some body." Professional replied, "I shudder every time someone asks for layers" and proceeded to cut my hair with 6 scissor strokes only. End of hair cut. The soothing scalp massage was 10 seconds during the shampoo. Then, instead of blow drying my hair, she combed my hair backwards and sat me under a dryer. There was no design cut. There was no style. There was no hair care recommendation. And, there was no complimentary beverage.
I will not be returning for the remaining two visits included in the package.
I feel that the advertised services were very misleading and did not provide a appropriate respresentation of what World Spa was acutally saying in print that they would be giving. There were no displayed Board of California credentialings, and though I was treated nicely, I feel that the words "spa" (definition "luxurious resort") are not at all what was experienced. If they are going to advertise a complimentary beverage, the Spa needs to, at minimum, offer a complimentary beverage. If they are going to advertise Spa, then they need to increase their services to actually provide a luxurious experience - not one that has me questioning their services. If they are going to advertise "30-min facial", I want to receive a full 30min facial. I left yesterday thinking "Why did I dare pay a $20 non-inluded gratutity on a hair cut when I could have walked down the street to a chain/franchise hair salon for and paid $20 total for the full-hands-on haircut and tip. I highly advise that this business is examined from the inside out, including proof of credentialing.Desired Settlement: I do not want to hear from World Spa, but I want other potential consumers to be made aware before they are also scammed into the falsely advertised services. I do not feel that the professional who cared for me was certified by the state of California and want this request to be forwarded onto the Board. And I want my $40 back due to services that were not received. Unfortunately, I also purchased a $40 spa package for my friend and I will highly suggest that she does not come here for her treatments.
