Review: "World Wide Who's Who" through World Wide Branding contacted me and they said they are the most prestigious branding company out there and selected me as one of the few prestigious/VIP members etc. They offered $99 per year after the "interview" and approved my membership and that I could terminate the membership if not satisfied.

On my AMEX, I got a charge of US $199 instead of $99 told on phone. After multiple attempts, all of a sudden, I am not able to reach anyone there.

I have not logged in to WWB website and not accepted any terms of conditions. I have spoken to AMEX and as a platinum member for 25 years + who never asked for a chargeback, they will request for a charge back but a friend asked me to contact Revdex.com so they company can hear my story and correct their sales practice as well as refunding me the full amount. Thanks.Desired Settlement: Full Refund without any future charges.

Review: On or about 6-**-14, I responded to online questions on my University Alumni site supposedly about potential inclusion in an international Who's Who. Within the space allotted, I very briefly described my credentials, education, and experience. Within a short time, I was contacted by phone for a brief "interview." At the end, I was told that I had been accepted for inclusion and was asked for a credit card number for processing of charges that were not clearly specified. After I had somewhat agonizingly provided my credit card number, I was told the charges would be $689.00. I felt like a gullible old fool (I am ** years old). I have since received a plaque in the mail stating that "Worldwide Who's Who recognizes me as a Lifetime Member" and that I have qualified for "inclusion in the Worldwide Who's Who Registry of Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs 2013-2014 Edition." It is signed by [redacted]; and there is a symbol that says "Lifetime Member." I have received no information as to what such membership entitles me to besides this plaque and inclusion in the "Registry." I also have no assurance that they will not apply additional charges for my "Lifetime Membership."Desired Settlement: I would like them to indicate in their "come-on" that it is for advertising purposes by "Worldwide Branding" and to not mislead one into thinking it was associated with any "International Who's Who." I also want a refund of my money.

Review: Hello,

I am concerned about my information being posted on this site, as it has a sketchy history and unnecessary vanity marketing my identity does not need. From my understanding, a small personal bio, my address, my name, and my number has been recorded, along with a membership payment, but I would like to go about cancelling it as soon as possible. Due to their dubious history, and lack of need for vanity, insular marketing, I do not need the services.

This decision was hasty and foolish mistake, enough so I cancelled my debit card to prevent further transactions possible. I do not think they got a hold of my social security number, but due to my lack of sleep, I may have accidentally disclosed it to them. Can you confirm they do not have my social security number as well? I am concerned, even though it is not in their legal policy to disclose such information, I am hesitant to believe they are trustworthy. Through [redacted], they have had a history controversy and relabeling as a result of Revdex.com's actions, and I noticed through some complaints, some of them were successfully resolved.

In sum, a refund, and erasure of my information is desired, as far as legally possible required. I think this is doable, and but all they offered me, was for me to login and keep the information not public, and NOT the erasure off such information. They did not offer a refund plan during a phone call, only insisted there was a one time payment for membership fees, and frustratingly did not offer payment back.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a refund for the membership services, as well as erasure from the company's database. I do not want to have a written biography about me, I do not want my name, address, phone, company name, company website, possibly social security, and historical background to be stored on their website or any entity they own. I am completely capable of making my own media to represent myself with a fraction of the costs and I am not interested in the community after contacting members on my own. I also do not want to receive any feature of the membership, including the plaque and travel vouchers, they are unnecessary for me .

Was a high pressured sales call, the [redacted] rep told me that they selected members very carefully. Turns out that the only selection criterion is money. You pay, you're in. Review: I'm an [redacted]. I was enhancing my [redacted] profile accordingly when I came across an advertisement called Worldwide Branding 'Who's Who' 2014. I made an application to join them and received a phone call and was interviewed over the phone. I was immediately 'accepted' into the Who's Who list. I naively accepted as I genuinely thought, and was lead to believe, that this would enhance my professional exposure and company profile.I was asked to pay $800 (US) for the privilege. I lost my mother six weeks before this and I consider that I must have been at a very 'weak moment' in my life because I fell for this scam. I negotiated a drop in fee and ended up paying $440.00 (Australian Dollars) ** July 2014. For my hard earned dollars I received a shiny wall plaque that I could have made for $40 (AUD) and a terrible website profile.I was disgusted and wrote to Worldwide Branding for a refund. They eventually contacted me and we agreed on a $100 (US) refund. In the interests of moving forward and ending conflict I agreed to this. However, after 6 weeks I received nothing. I contacted them again and received a promise that my refund would be paid immediately. After another 2 weeks of nothing, I began to realise that this is one of those 'Who's Who Scams' and that I have been scammed. After further research, I found a advice to contact your organisation.Since then, Wordwide Branding have suggested that they have done everything they can to refund me, and the problem is with my Bank. Please see attached detailed description for clear clarification.Desired Settlement: I will attach the refund receipt for the 'missing' money to this complaint, however this is simply not good enough. The refund receipt proves nothing. Even if there was an issue with my credit card (which I doubt), they could make alternative arrangements (international cheque or something). I am of the opinion that their operation is very suspicious and ask that the US Government look into their operations. Also, while I initially agreed to a $100 (US) refund, I believe this is also unethical and suspicious. I have been sold a 'service' which delivers nothing that is promised and the quality of products is extremely poor. Ultimately, I am very unhappy and am requesting that Worldwide Branding refund my original $440.00 (AUD) wasted on this scam. The months in which they have delayed any refund is only further evidence of the unethical nature of their operation.I am frustrated with myself for falling for this, however I must have some rights and protection as a consumer

Review: I have several issues with this company. First they promoted airline tickets that have strings attached to use a hotel of their choosing. I mainly was sold on this for the airline tickets. I had planned to visit a friend and did not plan on using any hotel. Also, they represented them selves as "Who's Who" not World Wide Branding. I never would have joined World Wide Branding, but thought I was becoming a member of "the" Who's Who list. They also told me that I would come up on an internet search as a Who's Who member. This is not the case. The agreement is too small to read, and I will not sign an agreement that I cannot read. Finally, I called for a refund and was told that I was sent an email stating that I had 3 days to request one. I never received this email from them since I joined. They refused the refund. They offered me a $100 credit in August and never followed through with it!Desired Settlement: I was told that the lady on the phone told me about the airline requirements, however if she did, she mentioned it in passing and then continued to push the tickets. She simply told me that they were not good at all locations when pushing them. I was scammed by being led to believe that they were the actual Who's Who, and the lady on the phone was very aggressive. I would like a full refund. I have not agreed to the terms, and have not used the service. I only logged in a few times to try to try to read the agreement. I never created a portfolio. From what I could read of the contract, they do not take any responsibility for false information or viruses. This is hardly a safe website. Also, I have not received any feedback from them, including the email that supposedly told me that I had 3 days to cancel. Had I received this email, I would have cancelled right away!

P.S It has taken me so long to write this as I was unclear as to what to do, and have been busy with my studies at school.

Review: I was contacted by Worldwide Branding through my association with [redacted]. They told me I was specifically selected to be a lifetime member of their company because of my career accomplishments and that they could help me get my name out there to get consulting jobs by creating a personal webpage and featuring me on their website and in an annual Who's Who publication. I paid the $689 for the lifetime membership with the understanding that it included the creation of a personal webpage and other branding services. At the time of discussion of these services it was not disclosed to me that the only people with access to my webpage would be other paying members and that the only way people could contact me was through their website, which is only accessible to paying members. My contact information was not listed on my webpage for people to contact me directly. World Wide Branding called me a second time to create a "public webpage" that would be accessible on the World Wide Web. They also told me I was selected as a featured person by their company and would be on the front page of their website. It was very deceptively disclosed that I would be charged for this and what that amount would be, which was an additional $1324. Also around the same date that I paid for the lifetime membership I started to receive an excessive amount of spam emails, which I had never received in the past. The spam included emails from psychic readers, how to work from home, learn how to buy and sell mortgages, etc-my assumption is that they sold/gave my email address to third parties or business partners, without disclosing that they would do this and asking my permission. About a month after the initial charge from Worldwide Branding I requested a refund of my lifetime membership, excluding the cost of a Who's Who plaque that was created with my name on it, roughly $150 value. They told me they would only refund $600 of the total $2013 charged to my credit card. They explained that the $600 refund was for another plaque that I had not received yet and the book that I was supposed to be featured in, which had not been published yet. They also explained that was the only thing they could provide a refund for since other services had already been rendered, they would not refund my lifetime membership or anything else. The only thing I have received so far is spam and a webpage on their website, the same quality as a free [redacted] Webpage, where people can only contact me through Worldwide Branding. I have received no legitimate consulting offers, unless you count the one from Fox News for $90,000 (another spam email). I did not agree to the $600 refund amount and would not sign the resolution agreement they sent me, which has to be signed before they will refund the $600.Desired Settlement: I would appreciate any assistance you could offer in getting a full refund of my lifetime membership and for services that were not provided by Worldwide Branding. I did not receive the services offered for a lifetime membership at a cost of $689. The second charge of $1324 was not fully disclosed to me and I still do not have an itemized receipt to show what those charges were for. I initially was going to allow them to keep the $150 I valued the plaque at but after extensive research on the internet and realizing that this company is not legitimate I realize the plaque has no value. I am requesting a full refund of $2013. Any assistance you can offer for a refund would be greatly appreciated.

Review: I am a member of [redacted] a reputable social media site and World Wide ran an advertisement for free membership in a women's professional directory. I decided to investigate so sought to acquire further information. Immediately, I was assigned to a "closer" who spent a great deal of time expounding the fabulous services that WW provided and how it would benefit my career. Rather than being free as advertised I agreed to what I was told would be a one time life-time membership fee of $989 USD converted to $1,280.10 Cdn. The caller provided an extensive list of what their service entailed and indicated that I would receive by surface mail a package of everything that had been discussed. So far I have received nothing. Yesterday she called again, this time telling me that I had been selected as their professional of the year and would be further honored with a full magazine cover & article and a first page listing in their hard cover membership directory as well as online website branding. This was an additional special price of $1,400 USD with a service fee to be added. Stupidly I complied with this request for additional funds. Subsequently, I have searched online and apparently this is a significant scam. I have emailed the individual demanding removal from this so-called directory and the return of all funds charged against my credit cards. I also went online to the company website and repeated my instructions, I will also be contacting my credit card companies. This company employs hard-hitting marketers to move the consumer from an advertised free membership by baiting the unwary with promises of international professional exposure. I will also be contacting [redacted] to advise them of this unethical company scam. Additionally, they promises hard copy material that has not been received.Desired Settlement: A full refund for all charges made against my credit cards and a filed complaint identifying the misrepresentation and fraudulent practices of this company. Consumers need to be cognizant of this costly scam.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because

I disagree with the amount refunded, it is short from the amount actually as set out in my complaint & secondly at no time was a disclosure made regarding refunds or withdrawing from the World membership however the representative clearly indicated that the law does not allow credit card information to be retained this obviously is not true as they were able to make the partial refund to my account I would like to be advised why they have not made a full refund thank you for your help

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

This company lied about price saying it cost 9.95 then billed $995. They don't do much different than the free service provided by LinkedIn. The interview was actually a sales pitch that was untruthful. They host your information in a place no one can find and the networking and branding is not controlled by the Revdex.com so they just do nothing. I have not received anything from them at all. It is a scam that they run on people who get new jobs.

Review: I reluctantly signed up for an online profile/branding of my business. They also said they would make sure I had a better web presence for my website. I had a terrible time filling out their online form, called and got no help or follow through. I have seen no change in activity on my site as promised, none at all! The sales pitch was forceful and I would not have signed up had I not been promised two free airline tickets with a company "Lifestyle Vacation Incentives" from [redacted]. I have since gotten a call for a "more prominent posting on their website as VIP" which cost me 200.00 more. Still I have not seen any change in potential client traffic. And the final blow, the vacation company went out of business, and the new one has changed terms. You now have to buy into a high priced hotel off their list. I never would have joined this deal had I known that.

My complaint is forceful salesmanship, that doesn't fulfill what was promised, and a switch that I had no choice in for the airline "ticket benefit".Desired Settlement: I fully expect a refund for the unprofessional treatment I received.

Review: I responded to a mailing for inclusion in [redacted]. I was called by a Worldwide Branding person who said they were the same company. They promised to customize a website at my direction. I asked if that meant they would actually custom code a website and received an emphatic yes. They sold me this website, publication in [redacted], plaques, press releases, etc. for $989.00, only to call back an want another $1613.00 promising to make it special and complete the work. The work had never even started. They got information off my [redacted] and simply regurgitated what I had already built. This business does not deliver what they promise by any stretch of the imagination. With even greater audacity, they called back two weeks ago and wanted another $1200+ - and still haven't delivered. This is clearly a gross and willful breach of contract and fiduciary faith. How do I know when they call? They always block their number so I don't know when they are calling!!Desired Settlement: Refund the $989 and the $1613 back to my credit card immediately.

Review: Worldwide Branding did not provide the services they said they would to me.

I signed up to be a lifetime member on May **, 2015 at a reduced rate of $789.

They said they would help create a "custom" bio about myself. All they did was copy my [redacted] page into their format. They said I would get a certificate that I could hang up in my office stating I was a member.

On June *, 2015 they called me asking me for more money! They wanted to make me a VIP member, this would get me another certificate (even though I NEVER revived the first one) and get me a listing book.

After I turned down the "up sale", I called in to cancel my membership.

The wonderful lady told me that there is only a 3 day cancellation period and that they were a publishing company. After I told her that I had read the Terms and Condition and they said I could cancel with a prorated refund rate, she realized that I had done my homework.

She then told me, okay well were a publishing company and have already done the work (aka, copied what I had on my [redacted] Profile Page), she said she could refund $100 from my original $789...Desired Settlement: I would like them to refund my money or at least a reliable amount of $689. That would let them keep $100 for copying what I had already wrote about myself.

Review: I got in touch with "World Wide Who's Who" through [redacted] and thought it was a vetted, reputable company because of their advertising on [redacted]. They got in touch with me and conducted their "interview" and approved my membership. The price kept decreasing the more I tried to decline then they gave me a lower rate and I signed up because I was under the assumption, based on what they told me, that I could term membership for full refund within 30 days. My employer will not reimburse me for this and I am not really sure what the service/membership is and do not want to spend the money on this service as I am not sure what it is and do not see a value for it nor want to be part of it. After multiple attempts, all of a sudden, I am not able to reach anyone there, including my direct contact, who was calling me every other day and now will not return my phone calls or their service team respond to my inquires about a refund.Desired Settlement: Refund the $389.00 I paid and remove my contact and credit card information from their database.
