I responded to an ad that was placed on Craiglist for a rental property in Glendale,Wisconsin. I called [redacted] and he agreed to meet me at the property at 4:00 pm.When I arrived the owner that lives next door greeted me outside;I stated to her I had an appointment to see the rental property.After waiting twenty mintues; the owner let me in to see the property.[redacted] did not call me back into I left a message stating I was with the owner after about fifteens from that message he arrived.He provided an application and advised me their was an application fee of twenty dollars per applicant. I advised that I will return the application the following day;he then advised that it only takes appromixately a day to have a determination.That is when I advised that I was a victim of identity theft.He advised to that he would need a copy of the police report.The next day I brought a copy of my police report,fee,and application for my fiancée and I.I had to reach out to [redacted] and he they stated my credit was not good. I stated did he review my notarized police report;I also stated did he call my references.He then stated he would call my reference (but his tone seemed like he was ver annoyed with me). When he finally called one of my reference which is my current landlord;she stated he came off as "rude and unpleasant". I called him that day with no reponse. I called the next following day and he stated my references were good;but now he would need to set up a meeting with the owner and his self to go over my credit report.He scheduled for May 8th;when I called him to find out if we were meeting at the property or his office it was then he stated that the owner brother died and her family was taking her on a fish fry;but that we can re-schedule for Monday.I called and texted [redacted] no answer.Called Tuesday and he stated that the owner son did not want me to have the house. This was truly devastating not only were patiently waiting for almost two weeks;but [redacted] did not have the common courtesy to call. I had to call him and he gave no expaination as to reason why the son did not want me to have the house.My fiancée called him and he stated to him that son was the boss and he has to honor his decision. It was like being a victim all over again.I finally recieved a voice message from [redacted] and he stated that owner didnt want our family to have house. I trusted [redacted] and I now feel that he never wanted our family to have the home at all......Word of advise to [redacted] is that common courtesy and being polite is not that hard.
