This has been a months long disaster, do not trust Worthy! If I could, I would give them zero stars.
This past April, my daughter decided to auction her engagement ring to help with a down payment for a house. Including the diamond, it was appraised for approximately $8000. I agreed to help her with the process because she had just had a baby, and we thought it would sell for a fair price.

I had seen ads online, and heard ads on podcasts, for Worthy. They sounded reputable and we didn’t find bad reviews online. We decided to do it.

We sent them the ring for them to auction. They told us we would get more for an auction if the diamond was removed and graded. We agreed, and was assured that the ring would be treated with card. Then, they put the ring up of auction. It didn’t sell, so they said they would put the diamond back in the ring, and send it back to my daughter.

When she received the ring, she saw that it had been damaged. We sent pictures to them, and they had us sent the ring back to them to repair.

We were told that during the repair they broke one of the prongs, and that it may have compromised the integrity of the ring.

They asked if we wanted financial compensation. They offered us $275. Or, they would send the ring and the diamond back with a $100 visa gift card to have the ring repaired.

We priced similar settings locally, and found that the exact setting can be found at Jared jewelers for $2100.

They came back and said they could have their “expert jewelers“ remake the ring and refused to compensate my daughter financially, so that she can buy a replacement setting. We said no, that’s not acceptable. Why, after 2 complete failures, should we trust their “expert jewelers” to “remake” the ring?

It’s now the end of August, we are still waiting for a reply. They still have my daughter’s damaged setting, and her diamond.

DO NOT SELL YOUR JEWELRY THREW WORTHY
They lost people jewelry. They dont pay for thier mistakes. They offer you peanuts 13k you may see 2k not worth your time. Several hundreds complaints that they have no answer. Will sell my ring threw my friends email but I out same ring in under my name stating I have appraisal, and I am discriminated against. My lawyers are in the process of a lawsuit stating such.

Awesome experience from start to finish. Kendall, the associate who helped me through the process was so responsive and attentive to my concerns and questions. Definitely will use Worthy again to sell other estate jewelry pieces.

Overall, I am extremely impressed with the team of people that I dealt with at Worthy. Initially, Brandon walked me through the process and alleviated all of the concerns I had about sending in my valuables. Kendall handled the auction which for me turned out better than expected. It was neat watching the bids come in from all over the world! Everyone I dealt with was courteous and professional. I will be recommending Worthy to all of my friends and colleagues.

I was enormously skeptical, but the process was amazing. Kendall kept me in the loop every moment, even when I had less than an understanding of the process and how things work...he worked diligently to make sure I was comfortable with the process. I would definitely recommend to a friend. Sorry I didn’t do it sooner.

Worthy's many vetted bidders are viewing your jewelry from all over the United States. 23 states and 177 interested bidders were involved in my auction. I could not have had that many interested parties if I had sold my jewelry locally. That is one of the few reasons why I chose Worthy.com. Kendall, Brandon, and Misha kept me updated with prompt emails that outlined each step of the preauction and auction process. They even extended the auction's time due to bidding interest which resulted in several higher bids at the end! I was very, very happy with my experience with Worthy and highly recommend Worthy for selling your jewelry pieces to the largest online audience possible.

We are so happy that we were able to get you the most money for your jewelry and are so proud of our amazing team for the work they do every day. Thank you for choosing Worthy and please let us know if we can help in any other way.

Worthy makes the process fast and easy to use for its sellers. Kendall, in particular, was great to work with! He was incredibly helpful as a well informed member of their team. Your jewelry will probably not go for as high as it could trying to sell to local jewelers. But the ease of their system, quick turnaround time, and hassle-free process was well worth having Worthy do the work for me.

Hi ***,
We're so glad that you had a great experience and we are so lucky to have Kendall on our team. One thing to note is that we do hear from our customers every day that they were able to get a lot more for their jewelry on our platform than they were offered locally. Of course, this does vary by individual experience but largely the reason why is because we put the jewelry in front of hundreds of global jewelers and make them compete for the valuable at auction. We're glad that the process was turnkey for you and please let us know if there is anything else we might be able to assist with.

My plans changed with my girlfriend and we decided to go in a more non-traditional direction than marriage. I had already purchased a ring and it was sitting in a drawer. I decided to sell the ring on the Worthy website and the experience was very easy and the ring sold for a fair price. Much better than what I could get on my own.
Worthy took care of everything from initial shipment, to GIA grading, HD photography, and the auction itself. The ring sold and I received direct deposit payment within two days from the sale. Excellent experience!

I recently auctioned a "significant" diamond ring using Worthy. Never having done anything like this before, I was naturally hesitant...mailing the ring safely, getting it certified (which was necessary) and then wondering how to go about selling it for a fair price. We were anxious about it. It was a family heirloom. We came across a review for Worthy and were very impressed. Their website is extremely easy to use and all of the outlined steps for shipping, certifying and selling, were easy and honestly, seemed too good to be true!
I entered the information that I had on the ring and set up a call with Worthy. Rachel K took the call. She was amazing. She calmly answered all of our anxious questions and spent over 45 minutes on the phone with us. She encouraged us to reach out if we had ANY concerns or other questions and was always prompt to answer an email or call. Her associate Ornella B was also a tremendous help and we had no trouble connecting with either one of them. She mailed me the packing materials for the ring and kept me up to date every step of the way.
The Auction was a seemless and easy experience and we sold our piece for a very nice price. They took care of every detail and I would certainly recommend Worthy to anyone who has a similar need to auction jewelry. Thank you Rachel and Ornella! You are the best! -

Hi ***,
We recognize that selling an expensive diamond can be an anxious experience. But this is what we do each and every day, and we're so glad that Rachel and Ornella were able to walk you through the experience and are so glad it turned out so well! Please let us know if there is anything else we can ever be of assistance with.

Everyone at Worthy was amazing to deal with. My jewelry process went seamlessly. I highly recommend them.

Worthy.com Response • Jun 30, 2020

Thanks *** for your feedback - glad we could be of service!
-Worthy Team

While the process was smooth, they offered me 10% of the value of my items. It just ended up being a waste of time.

Worthy.com Response • Jun 16, 2020

Hi ***,
We're sorry that you were disappointed in the experience; unfortunately the center diamond you sent us was significantly smaller than as it was originally described to us during the submission process. Had we known the actual size of the diamond, we would not have had you ship it in (which was fully paid for and insured by us). We have since added a way for sellers like you to send us pictures of their items before shipping, which will hopefully help prevent this from happening. Unfortunately, we are just a marketplace and do not control the resale price of items, but do hope that you are able to successfully sell your item for the price you are looking for.
-Worthy Team

I inquired about selling my jewelry over 6 months ago and to this day they still will not leave me alone. I get at least 3 calls a week and emails to go along with it. I have asked them to stop many times and they just win’t. Horrible.

Worthy.com Response • Jun 16, 2020

Hi ***,
We don't see these requests in our system but do apologize if something got lost in translation along the way. We have removed you from our list - please feel free to reach out to us in the future if we can ever be of assistance.
-Worthy Team

I sold my ring through them at a much lower rate than anticipated. Then I tried to become a buyer and all I do is get the run around. They say they will allow anyone to become a buyer, but then will not activate my account. No one returns phone calls. I feel scammed and ripped off.

Worthy.com Response • Jun 16, 2020

Hi ***,
We see that you sold a ring with us in February of 2019; in looking at that transaction, the reason that the ring came in less than anticipated is because the diamond you sent in was a smaller carat weight than indicated and came back from the GIA with a lower than average color/clarity and poor cut and symmetry, which impact significantly its resale value.
One of the benefits of Worthy is that we connect consumer sellers like you to a closed network of over 900+ professional buyers so we can offer our sellers a fast, secure transaction. As such, we currently do not accept non-professional buyers on the platform at the current time - apologies if there was any confusion.

Ornella at Worthy was wonderful. The whole process of selling my ring went seamlessly. She kept in touch with me each step of the way and the results were great. I am very pleased and would not hesitate to use Ornella and Worthy again.

Kendall at Worthy made my experience Amazing! He was professional, timely and attentive, and I felt very secure with selling my ring through this whole process! I am 57 years old and not very confident with using technology... but Worthy and Kendall made this very "easy peasy" ! I highly recommend Worthy and Kendall to sell your jewelry !

Please beware of this company. Read the reviews (the real ones) and notice the consistent themes. Worthy reps will convince you to send them your ring and allow them to remove the diamond (they do not mention this until after you send your ring and they give you a substantially low offer). Don’t do it! First, you can get a better price from a local jewelry dealer. Be prepared to be shocked by the difference between your insurance appraisal value and how much you are being offered (I was offered 15% of my appraisal value). Your Worthy rep will be available and very responsive up until you ask for them to send you your ring back. Once I made this request, a week went by with no response. I had to eventually ask for a manager and threaten to report my ring stolen. Also, one of the most important things you need to be aware of is how they insure your ring. Once my ring was returned I notice on the slip in the package that instead of my ring being insured for the appraised value ($7500) which is the value I have the ring insured for, it was insured for the value Worthy offered me. If I had known this, I would not have trusted mailing my ring to them in the first place. Finally, the offer they give you after you send your ring will be substantially different from the offer they provide during your initial consultation and their final offer (i.e. $535 vs. $1100). I sold my ring to a reputable local jewelry dealer for the amount Worthy offered during my original consultation (after escalating my case to a manger and threatening to expose this company, the manager was “finally” (again this is part of the game they play) able to get me an offer of the amount they originally quoted during my consultation which I declined since I got the same offer from a local dealer and wouldn’t have to give up the 20% Worthy requires. Either way I did not want to do business with this shady company so even if they had increased their offer I would not have accepted it.) Therefore this process was a waste of time and a headache. Had I sold my ring to them I would have gotten between 20% - 50% (20% for the fee they charge; 50% if I had gone with the actual offer after they received my ring) less. So trust me when I say do not waste your time with this company! They lack integrity!

Everyone I worked with was terrific. They followed up and explained everything clearly
Ornella. And Brandon were particularly helpful and I was satisfied with the results of the auction

Was selling a luxury watch with Worthy!
Very pleased with they way they walked me through the whole process. Made it very easy by helping and taking on themselves shipping, insurance and of course the action.
They work fast and very effective! Very happy with the end result!
I worked with Rachel and Ornella, both amazing specialist!
Thank you.
