One year and four months
I am getting rather frustrated. It has been one year and four months since I sent gauges out for repairment. I am constantly lied to and now they don´t answer the phone. I have paid in full so I am very dissapointed. I have ran into trouble in my shop because of this lack of honest conversation. Sad because this shop does it repaiments well.

I paid 20 dollars to send in an instrument cluster in and they got it in 4 days. After 4 months they sent it back at a cost of 81 dollars and a wait of 2 weeks time. The gauges came back looking like they used a sharpie to color them in . Can’t say that they did anything with them but I believe I wasted a lot of money and time. The cluster housing came back rusted the same way I sent them in. It shows no pride in their work when it comes back full of dust like they had been sitting on a shelf for a while. My fuel gauge Is hard to see which they stated was not to bad. I will have to take it apart and redo what I paid them to do. You should just do it yourself if you are considering these guys to do it for you. Stay away from them. Not happy at all. I do have another project I’m working on and will definitely not send the gauges to auto instruments.

Had Auto Instruments do the gauges on my 69 T/A and was told 8 to 10 weeks which I thought was little longer then what I thought it would take to do it, but being that the car was still a few months away from doing the interior I didn't have a big problem with it. 8 to 10 weeks turn into 17 weeks ! it did start to become a problem for my shop, being that the car was in the Assembly ( clean ) room and we had customer cars getting ready to go in. I did call after 12 weeks and was told that they would be shipping them out the following week, called back 2 wks later and was told the same thing...after the 3 rd call 2 more wks later they were shipped. For the most part they did a nice job, with the exception of step gauges should have had the black outer face repainted and the speedo was supposed to be zeroed out. For the price of $980 I shouldn't have any complaints and for the delay of double the time...my opinion, they should have refunded a few hundred. So if your thinking about having them do your gauges...Plan on more then the time they tell you and if you get them back within the 8-10 wks consider your self one of the lucky ones. I'm sure they will respond with employee issues or the planets were not aligned properly or what ever...how ever you look at it, it's not the way to take care of your customers if you want them to come back !

Review: Work on my automotive gauges have not been completed. I paid for the work upfront and was told the time frame was 8 to 10 weeks. It is now 5 months and the work is not completed and I do not have my gauges back. I paid $1,200 for the work via credit card over the phone. My account was charged this amount back in July.Desired Settlement: I would like the work completed as promised and a portion of the charge refunded because I've not been able to use the car. One can not drive without a speedometer or the other gauges.

Response:

HI,In responding to the complaint regarding the turnaround time of the Barracuda gauges I'm afraid everything he says is correct: I did promise him an 8-10 week turnaround time and his gauges have indeed been here for 5 months. Or were here, we restored his cluster last week and shipped it back to him yesterday, Tuesday, Dec 8th. I spoke with him a couple of times on Monday and Tuesday and I received this Revdex.com email today, Wednesday. In our defense we had one of our technicians leave the company when he moved away and the tech who does most of these Mopar clusters got prostate cancer and missed quite a bit of work. Unfortunately that does nothing to help our customer's situation when he needs the gauges and I've apologized to him for the delay. Since the gauges were shipped yesterday he hasn't received them yet but they turned out beautifully, fully refaced and restored and I sincerely hope he's happy with them and will consider using us in the future despite the time delay. This kind of problem is not normal for us and I want to ensure he's happy when the transaction is completed. Car guys always have another car and I hope we can work with him again on the next project!Sincerely,Gentry ZentmeyerAutoInstruments Corp.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.Auto Instruments has given me a shipping tracking number for my reconditioned instruments. I'm still waiting for these to arrive.

Regards,
