[redacted] with our facility along with a blank check. He gave our facility permission to purchase / perform, any and all parts and services needed to fix vehicle damages. Mr. [redacted]'s was informed that additional damages were found, and that there was a balance, because the check he left had already been filled in for $2800.00 and deposited. Mr. [redacted] conducted himself in a unprofessional manner, he and various members of his family would drive by and harass any one they could engage in front of our facility. Mr. [redacted] came in with San Joaquin sheriff department, upon reviewing all documentation; Mr [redacted] was informed by the sheriffs department he would have to pay balance in full in order to retrieve his vehicle. After informing Mr [redacted], that a lien would be placed on his vehicle, he settled for a discount for parts not replaced because of availability issues, inspected his vehicle with facility staff, and signed a document acknowledging that; he was in in agreement with resolution; and that his vehicle was in good repair. and deposited, he refused to pay.
Review: I had dropped off my vehicle at Advance Auto Body and Collision Center in order to replace and paint the bumper. They inspected the vehicle and said that the radiator cover the front splash gaurd and a few other parts needed to be replaced. After this he gave me an estimate of $1,230, including the parts and labor. They asked for 1,700 and claimed that they would refund me the remaining money. I wrote them a check with only my signature, which they told me they will not cash until the repairs are finished. When I came back to pick up the car they asked for somewhere around $4,300, which was no where near the estimate. When I asked for my check back, they told me that they had already taken out $2,800 without my consent. Now they are not going to give me back my car until I pay what they want and they are going to put a lean on the car. I had gone to two other body repair shops before choosing Advanced Auto and their estimates did not surpass $2000. So from this I know that $4300 is no where near a fair price.Desired Settlement: I want my vehicle back in good condition and pay an amount around the estimate. I do not want to but, if I have to I will go to court. I want this to be solved in the cleanest and fastest way possible.
